Name a game that made you have a lot of nightmares.

For example, after playing Alien Isolation, I always dreamt an Alien chasing me down. Like hell, I have such a fear of this creature.

  • What's that game about?

    viva pinata

  • Star Fox for Nintendo 64.

I was only a kid so the last mission with the creepy dude's head floating around and trying to kill you gave me quite a few nightmares.

  • IDK why but king deedeedee from any Kirby games gave me nightmares as a kid like he was chasing me.

  • Forbidden Siren: That one hospital level playing as Risa Onda was the one that still lingers in my dreams due to the idea of being chased by a revenant-like creature that can kill you if she catches you.
REmake: Lisa Trevor due to her grotesque mutation, and how she almost looked as if she had came right out of a Silent Hill game.
Shadow Hearts: The character portrait and story behind the ghost of Li Li used to freak me out back when I was in my early teens.

  • Not a game, but this shit scared the hell out of me as a kid and I am still scared as a grown-up.

  • Those ghosts from Deadly Premonition were pretty creepy. They're probably one of the creepiest enemies you have to fight in games.

Also, though I think it's more of an extension of the Alien movies than Alien: Isolation itself, I have had nightmares of the Alien before, and I'm sure playing Isolation fueled some of those nightmares.

Limbo of the Lost. This "game" would give your Alien nightmares.

  • Same. Why the hell was this so horrifying. Sorry for not putting in a disc jeez.

  • Oh yeah, when I was little, it horrified the fuck out of me.

Dead Space. When I was in high school, many years ago, I would take part in experimental drugs. I did this for research, similar to how the creator of LSD did. I would document my hallucinations from peyote, marijuana, chemical synthetic weed, and opium smoking. All of this was done for Science as I wanted to see how the brain reacts to moderate use.

One day I had a very bad experience when I smoked some synthetic and hallucinated that a Necromorph ripped off my head and put a skeleton head on my body. I went to the bathroom and could see it and could put my fingers in my eye holes. It was scary lol. I had a bad experience listening to Frogs by Alice in Chains on peyote and when I was 17 and smoked Jamaican marijuana, I could see crows from Resident Evil 4, lol. Though that trip was funny as I look back and the crows went away quickly. I went on a long walk....barefooted around this apartment complex. I was smiling, waving at everyone, and my eyes were the darkest red that you'd ever see, lol. I thought to myself "I'm going to die happy, what an experience."

  • I remember when I was 11 years old, the Dementors from the 3rd Harry Potter game (and movie) haunted my dreams and Luigi from Luigi's Mansion doing that freaked out face while screaming so loud.

But now, 13 years later, that's all just "meh".

  • I remember when I first played Batman: Arkham Asylum, and I kept having nightmares of being in Killer Croc's lair while being chased by Croc, and then eventually getting eaten. Had that nightmare for weeks.

  • The game "Doom (Xbox Og version) when I was a little kid I use watch my father play that game, god did those monsters freak me out.

  • Lol, having nightmares from non-horror video games huh? Oh wait, I remember that when I was playing Uncharted 1 for the first time, I was so horrified when I reached The Bunker chapter because of the dark hallway and the Spaniards who were waiting for me in a corner.

It's like you literally getting pulled into fiery depths of hell. It's a never ending of loop of being dragged into hell and there's nothing you can do. You're just getting pulled down, the wind howls on endlessly, and all you see is the crimson pit. No one is here to help you.

Not a game, but this shit scared the hell out of me as a kid and I am still scared as a grown-up.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if the PS2 pulled some "The Ring" shit and then a demented girl comes out of the TV.

  • Similar to the PS2 post, the Gamecube menu music always creeped me out, it's relaxing for some, but I was always uncomfortable listening to it. Especially after the G in the statrup screen morphing into a cube, the noise it makes haunts my dreams.

  • Antheads: It Came From The Desert II. I kept having nightmares about this anthead.

  • this got me pretty bad when i was younger.

  • That was my first thought. Not just scary and creepy. It's so bad it gives nightmares.

When I was little, losing / failing a mission in Jak 2 and Jak 3 scared the fuckin' shite outta me. I'm still terrified of time trials thanks to the Jak and Daxter series.

  • The original Resident evil, used to dream about those dogs jumping through the window. Also prickly sensation when getting up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night when thinking about said game.
