When`s Telltale Going to Stop?
Stop acting like it's hard as fuck to make choices really matter since they're now a way bigger company than 4 years ago?
Telltale is always rushing so bad their titles, the last hour rewriting in ANF is just a little proof of that. How do you guys expect good quality from a game that's already released and still changing? Obviously there will be no time to implement new choices or make the impact of choices deeper, they'll be too occuped with the linear part of the game.
I respected this company so bad, but after seeing that they think they can make multiple games at once and be lazier because they know it will sell anyway no matter the effort, and also be a linear game with basically no gameplay, I'm disappointed. If they want to do that, why don't they starts making animated movies and stop with the false adversiting?
Also, if you're here to say that is impossible and hard and blablabla, just take a look at Mass Effect if you want to. Technically, its linear ( The story will always be linear, and that
s not the problem, but yes the outcomes and characters relationships are ), but your choices DO matter.
Also², if you`re here to say that is impossible and hard and blablabla, YES, I COULD AGREE... 4 FUCKING YEARS AGO.
This could stop, and you know how?
1 - Developing one game at once and putting all your efforts in it. ( Not happening. Why? Money lost ).
2 - If developing lots of games at once, them take the time you need to do it. No, ANF and lots of games didn't even took 1 year to develop, they always rush their games because of this episode thing with the extra month of wait for the next episode for extra time developing. Seriously? How the fuck they dont planned/have written the full story when having all their resources ready and already releasing episodes? ( Happened with The Wolf Among Us, wich got rewrote as we know, so, no, not ANF only ). Also not happening. Why? When someone buy the full season pass, it counts as a full game, even when it
s 1 episode released, for example. Most of the people buy the season pass... basically, time and money lost ( In their minds ).
I know there are people who are going to disagree, but if you are goin to do it, then I want really argument, ok? And a really efficient one, cuz I know it`s hard to disagree with me about the things I wrote.
Also³, peace, and remember: Constructive criticism is not toxicity. Having no argument or facts is toxicity.

Do I even need to say english isn't my first language? So sad you don't have arguments at all and sounds like a generic cliche american elitist.
Just get out of my thread, please.

Maybe they just typed while they were angry! Give em a chance!
But I agree, it saddens me to think of how much more fantastic their games could be if they made your choices change the story. I keep hearing people say "well they can't make hundreds of endings now can they?"
No they can't, but 2 endings that continued on into the next game is a start. Also not killing off determinant characters. I feel like I'm not asking for much
Nah, my grammar really sucks, and I'm ok with that, but anyone can totally understand the text. People complaning about this just don't have any arguments about the topic and just wants to sound superior.
Ah yes, because people are supposed to instantly predict that.
Quite a bit of hypocrisy there.
Of course my king, I had forgotten that you ran the entire forums.
You know I'd give you a proper argument and be respectful if you weren't such a douchebag and actually properly explained yourself. Give respect to get respect.
Alright people. If you'll want to discuss the topic, please respond to the actual topic rather than getting into arguments about the grammar. That doesn't really contribute to the discussion here. Certain posts in this thread removed for that reason.
I don't care for a argument or respect coming from a person who judges someone by his grammar and not from cuz of his facts/arguments. You understood the text, and I know it. You're the hypocrate here.
Guys, I just want to let this clear: English isn't my first language but I know everyone can understand the text. Just sorry if it's hard to you understand the text or something.
Will this thread get locked too?
Should be no issues with this thread. It's telling the company to hold themselves to a higher standard. These are more criticisms of the higher up decisions.
If they really are doing re-writes on the fly, then that is a huge problem. You can't do that while still having a polished narrative. As for the decision making? I agree there too. Either do "playable stories" or have the choices effect the game. I haven't played a game since TWD season 1, but that had you make a choice which replaced a side character for a large chunk of the game. Every choice should have a similar effect. How you handle yourself should effect how those around you act instead of introducing yourself to every new character and going about it that way.
The people labouring on the game are only told what to do. If they need more time and resources to create a more polished game, then that's what you have to do.
Hold yourselves to a higher standard, Kevin.
THIS.
The difference with this is that:
A: No one is being attacked(*)
B: No one is being unreasonable("Give us an FPS combat system")
C: The criticisms are clear and backed up with reasonable suggestions
Now the rest of you can all go back to despising me. Maybe a bit more so now.
Signed, Johro, the pompous ass of the day.
The Mass effect games were a AAA production with a multimillion dollar development budget. They couldn't make your choices truly matter, either. It's incredibly difficult. I'm not defending telltale at all, I think they've gotten lazy and complacent a game Dev. But I can't see how anyone can expect a boutique shop like telltale to be able to program a game with truly determinate outcomes at the scale they develop. The files for each episode would be like 20 gigs, if that where the case. I've just tried to enjoy the stories for what they are, but even those gave been lacking.
You're saying telltale isn't able to make an AAA game? They totally could, just don't want to. As I said, making 3 games instead of one and focusing in that one just generates way more money. Also, Mass Effect 3 isn't a big monster on the AAA scene, it sold about 3.5 million copies, considering its a multiplataform and AAA game, it's not something monstruous.
Trust me, it's just like I said: It's impossible to focus on the decisions when you're having rewrites on the game and also has to build its linear story first. Decisions are just second plan.
i don't know.
Never, reviewers matter more to Telltale than there own fans.
I'm sure they could. I'm not sure what your point is, but choices in the telltale games where always just window dressing in the overall story they created. To have a complex branch of outcomes is beyond telltales MO.
EA spent millions of dollars developing mass effect 3, and in the end your choices didn't matter. You got funneled into the same three endings regardless of how you played. It's too complex and maybe not even cost effective to have games built with too much player choice. You're talking like 10 disk sets for console games.
It's time to STOP!
