Should Telltale release full games rather than episodic games?
Do you think Telltale releasing all episodes or one big game is a good idea? Let me know your thoughts about this.

I think episodic releases have been working well for them so far so I wouldn't see the need in them doing it. I think it probably allows them to advertise it more and have it featured on steam etc. every episode.
However, it would be interesting if they did a full release straight off the bat, because then they wouldn't have the community feedback and it could go bad if you think about it.
Now that you say it, you're actually right about that.
But I can't really remember the last time community feedback helped Telltale improve their games.
Yea I think I would prefer that but I doubt it will happen, it's like shows on Netflix sometimes they release an entire season at once so you can binge on it, really take the story and the characters in and not have to wait a week before each episode and have to be clearly and constantly reminded of events that took place in the previous episode.
I played season 1 over the course of 2 days and I preferred that over waiting like 2 months for another hour and a half episode just to forget some subtle things that may take away from the story somewhat.
They do. It's called buying the game once all the episodes are out. Generally, it's a smarter purchasing decision unless you want to discuss the episodes with others.
No, I mean like Telltale releasing all episodes on release. You misunderstood me there.
I'd prefer it. Wasn't the whole idea behind an episodic structure, so that they would take feedback into consideration in shaping future episodes?
They changed one plot point in Tales and GoT because of that... but that's about it. Added more hubs in ANF? All I can think of.
Yeah I reckon it has positives and negatives. One of the negatives being that they do re-writes and the writing can go all the over the place.
No, episodic games are their thing and I'd hate to see it go.
Nope, in fact -- I'd hate that. I really love the episodic concept since I feel more connected to community, there are lots of fan theories (too bad they are in most cases better than the original thing cough LiS cough) and fanart!
No, it makes the game feel rushed IMO.
I actually really liked Life is Strange while it was mostly just high school drama with time travelling powers, I felt like it really went downhill once they started becoming super dark in episode 4, and the ending was just utter trash, and your choices didnt mean shit for the ending at all
Same. Episode 4 was pretty intense but episode 5 was...quite shitty. There were so so many actually good fan theories about the ending and every single one was better than cliche "lulz become hitler or kill chloe xDD".
still mad!!!
Did you kill Chloe?
That was a shit finale. I chose to save Chloe and ride off into the sunset.
No I really like the episodic style. It lets everyone talk about the game and the story on the forums instead of just overall reviews. The episodic system is what makes it fun to be on here. I mean if you want to play the whole game at once, you can always wait until after they're all released.
Nah, I actually like the episodic system. I don't even mind long waits, discussing what happens next makes it really fun. And, as others said, you can just wait for the whoel season to release if that bothers you.
But they should definitely stop switching writers each episode (or at least not do it as much), makes the story less coherent.
I killed Chloe because I felt like she had not really been all that great during the game, but I really regret it now, considering if you kill her, you probably at least get some sort of ending, rather then, "lol nothing happened"
Yeah episode 4 was ok, but I was actually quite liking the whole, everything is quite normal, except for time travel, thing, and I felt like once it all just starting going amock, the thing kinda lost its charm
The episodic system can allow the community to give them feedback.
Like Season 3 Episode 3 for example (hopefully!), most people weren't happy with Episode 1 and 2, hopefully they actually listen to us.
I think about this too but now that I think of it thier games would get a little boring the cliffhangers are what want me to keep playing more and it's fun to theorize so mostly I just like it because it keeps you in suspense.
I live for Telltale's episodic games. It's just so fun to play these small bits of a larger story, but having all the time necessary to theorise and talk about it in between different chapters.
in my opinion the episodic gameplay is cool stick with it keeps the games exciting
why am i getting so many likes on my post
i feel like im part of the telltale staff lol
You asking me? Idk I haven't gotten anything in my feed but oh well...
I didn't kill her because I was heavily disappointed in the ending so I couldn't care less. But I'd rather save the whole town.
Amen
Meh. I like the episodic releases. It's great coming here to theorize in between episodes like others have said, and it makes me feel more connected to the story and characters. Rather than play the game over the course of a couple days, you're playing it over the course of a few months.
Coming here to theorize leaves the plot to linger in your mind, and you end up caring more about what happens because you've been waiting to find out what's next.
Although, I won't deny that it sucks when an episode gets delayed.
no, it's better in the current state
No. Things are fine as is.
I wouldn't mind seeing them getting experimental and trying a full game release at some point (although they already did with Jurassic Park, but that was before Walking Dead). However, in the grand scheme of things, I like their episodic style of games as I think it's unique. However, I would prefer that Telltale try to keep releases monthly when they can, like they did for Batman, Michonne, etc.
Prefer full game if I remember telltale only did episode idea at the beginning of the business as they needed the money to afford to create the next section/episode of their games
Good idea for the forums
Personally never bought an episode only purchased once full game released I enjoy more like this as get the full story and experience.
I did episode thing on TWD s2 and found myself forgetting story and buzz dies after waiting as move on to other games.
I don't mind the episodes though just prefer full game if had a chose
