The last thing this series needs is another OP, poorly written, Gary Stu/Mary Sue. We need more characters like Doug, or Lilly, or Molly, or anyone else with depth and interesting story arcs.
I always dreamt that I would be the badass in this game with the same age as Gabe.

It's almost like we just had these two characters ripe with potential but had them ripped away from us in <5 minute flashbacks!
What we need are longer episodes so we can develop our characters.
As if ANF characters weren't shallow enough already.

I don't think she's that bad, but I still wouldn't tout her as anything above good.
I mean, I don't hate Molly, but I don't think she's the best example of a complex character. There isn't that much depth to her (especially in comparison to Lilly, who you mentioned), and her story arc is something that can literally be skipped over entirely. Not to mention she's only around for one episode. I mean yeah, you can have a character who has an actual character arc in a single episode (I think Walter in S2 counts), but when they're only around for a single episode, you can only take it so far. And it's not helped by the fact that Molly's backstory is practically nonexistent until you get to Crawford, which is where the first hints start getting dropped.
You know what, I wouldn't mind another Lilly. We've had more than enough Kenny's to last three games.
Lol what was wrong with molly story? Sure it was short but it's not like she was gona stick around anyway.
I was mainly making a (slightly assholish) joke, but there's nothing really wrong with it. It's just not that engaging, at least not for me.
And that's one of the things she's better at than Jane.
