Legendary actor John Hurt has passed away
Veteran actor John Hurt has passed away yesterday, pancreatic cancer, the worst cancer ever.
I am sad. I shall remember him for his characters of Kane (Alien), Professor Broom (Hellboy) and the War Doctor (Doctor Who).
Let us not curse 2017 because of this, and keep his roles in our hearts and memories.

My favorite roles and characters he played were Kane from Alien and Mr Ollivander from the Harry Potter series.
Going to miss him...a class act no doubt.
It really sucks that he's gone, and I loved his performances. May he rest in peace. I will say though...
Whether it's this celebrity or any other, don't be this guy. People get genuinely upset when people they look up to die, especially John Hurt. If you respond to that grief like this "Deplorable Bane" guy did, then you're an asshole.
WHYYY? He is one of the reasons this iconic Horror Movie scene exists:
May he rest in peace..
Such a fitting username.
He's also one of those extremist, anti-PC Trump supporters after looking at his timeline, so...
He was great in The Elephant Man. He deserved an oscar for his performance.
Aside from anything of talking about things I'm passionate about, it's becoming a habit of mine reporting the passing of actors.
Makes me feel grim (no pun intended), also I am sad but I don't want to curse every year of someone's passing. I know I'm told it's a part of life, but still it doesn't make it any easier. Mortality is always a touchy subject for me.
Ugh, as an Alien fan, what a damn shame.
Johnny Hurt? I thought he died in 2003.
He's kind of right, but maybe he should have been less of a dick about it.
Rest in peace, John Hurt.
Didn't really know most of his roles but I probably know some R.I.P seriously 2017 can stop it know I need it to be a good year.
How is he right? I grew up looking up to Carrie Fisher and developed an emotional attachment to her work, like many others did. Does that mean I have no right to feel grief now that she's gone?
Man, that guy played some of my favorite characters- his voice was awesome!
I'm gonna miss Mr. Hurt. May he rest in peace.
Nooooo It Hurts That John Hurt Died! That Guy was legend and yeah I didn't know him but he was know to have a impact on movies that we love and enjoyed RIP John Hurt
I kind of agree. I'd rather be happy about the person making an impact on my life rather than grieve tbh
I just don't like this recent trend of bursting into tears at every celebrity death. It's amazing how many people suddenly saw him as an icon now that he's died. I would have to fake being sad about his passing because I just don't care on a personal level, and this applies to most people if you're honest with yourself. Being inspired by his work and a little saddened by his passing is completely different from grieving on a personal level like his friends and family. Jurassic Park was the movie of my childhood, yet I didn't feel more than a little sting when Richard Attenborough passed away in 2014. Certainly nothing of the proportions of this and other recent celebrity deaths.
I've always really liked him as an actor actually. As have many people. It's just that more attention has been given because he's gone now.
Rest In Peace to Mr. Ollivander and the War Doctor.
