Favorite/Least Favorite Super Bowl Commercials

Everyone's talking about the Patriots' huge comeback win, or how the Falcons choked in the 3rd and 4th quarters, or how Brady is the greatest QB of all time. And while all of these are true, one of the big reasons why people watch the Super Bowl is, of course, the advertisements. This year, we got some great, and some downright awful, commercials, what were your favorite and least favorite?

Favorite: Cam Newton Buick

I've seen some people dislike this, but I thought this was the best, and also funniest, commercial of the night. Especially at the end when the ref turns into a super model and one of the other refs gets distracted and crashes into the table. And as someone who once owned a Buick, I can say they are pretty reliable cars.

Least Favorite: Audi

"What do I tell my daughter?" You can start by telling her that the wage gap is a myth and that there isn't some organized effort by men to keep women down. You can also follow with, if you decide to go into marketing, to NEVER politicize your damn commercials, especially during the Super Bowl. It's guaranteed to alienate about half of the people watching. Were they even advertising a car in this one, or were they just trying to prove how "progressive" they are?

Comments

  • If I recall correctly, there was Pirates of the Carribean extended clip.

I don't know anything about Super Bowl but I think this spot was nice.

  • I know I'm in the minority here but I liked the "Transformers 5 The Last Knight" teaser

  • My favorite was Stranger Things!

  • I second this! Can't wait to see it!

  • My favorite is easily the Skittles commercial. Mainly because it's fun to imagine how many takes they had to do before they finally got it right.

Least favorite is also the Audi commercial, I would explain why but Shoe0nHead has me covered on that:

  • At least they debunked themselves:

  • That is hilarious. They're arguing that there is a wage gap, and then justify why women in their own company earn less than men. Oh my God, the fucking hypocrisy is over 9000.

  • they were all garbage. only the tv and movie trailers were lit.

  • Well, here's what TV Guide's Feb. 13-26, 2017 issue said in the "Cheers & Jeers" section:

JEERS to Super Bowl ads for running days in advance. Why bother sitting through the entire overblown excuse for pricey commercials when Melissa McCarthy's Kia spot and other "exclusives" were available online a week ahead of kickoff? We've heard of pregaming, but come on, guys.

All I can say is... :P
