Oh this thread was broken when I got here. And battling ignorance is never a bad thing...Oh I could have been more tactful...maybe. Hey at least you are RHYSHA
Actually it seems to be the other way. Problem is TV shows arnt allowed to joke around really on any other race because of backlash if it's to overused. Legitimately on any of the popular main stream TV shows (not mentioning any other form of media) I haven't seen one that hasn't taken the opportunity to use a white joke, normally the most race used. Then you have the shows like family guy who make fun of all races. This "dear white people" is getting hate because from personal experience, people are getting fed up with white people being the most used for laughs and the fact that the title enough can stir racism and seeing as just the trailer focused on racism towards whites, whether or not that was a joke, was not subtle and made it seem as if this "show" will be nothing but white shaming as that is all just the trailer was. Also what you where implying about whitea getting triggered and "never or not as much" blacks not getting triggered was pretty racist. You can obviously tell yourself if it was instead a trailer called Dear black people that showed black hate in just a few seconds blacks and other races would be angry and "triggered", but it wasnt. Again this isn't just a single shallow white joke used in just the trailer, the whole first look was white discrimination, so cant blame them until 1st episode is released. Oh plus the show looks boring as shit already, as many have already said, don't think people hate it just for the racism.
Well I don't support racism either way but it's just the name of a show. Also I don't see why people are complaining over this when people m… moreake black jokes on let's say idubz videos and they don't judge him for saying the n word. I have a white mom and a black dad which makes me half but I don't understand why it's a bigger deal when white people are made fun of it has to be a big deal not saying one race is better than another but seriously I just can't believe people are complaining over a show.
I'm actually kinda surprised at how many people on here are calling the show racist. I was under the impression that these forums were pretty left-leaning.
Could be boring has shit, but I'm telling it could have the same effect it did like Ghostbusters 2016.Like after episode 1 possible nobody will say it was good unless it comes has not growing which is highly unlikely.
But if Ghostbusters 2016 has showed me when it comes to bashing everybody like men and blaming everybody and calling them sexist(which the movie did everytime hearing it from You tubers who had saw it)but anything is possible from this show. But I cold be wrong, but maybe I'm not.
Also I think people like me are getting a little tired of whites being bashed just a little bit,by if turns out that what this show is about?Oh Boy that would be insanely bad and still hate that writer who may be on the writing staff, but still don't know

People are just overall pissed at Netflix which is what I see the most hate for. Netflix are even being pussys about the hate they are getting and deleting the comments on their video. This is possibly the worst time to be showing a show like that at this time when races are so high strung right now, more than its been in years, very poor move. Plus their way of thinking that was a trailer was probably the worst I've seen, especially if this show isnt what people are thinking, I agree.

Stooping to the levels of ignorant trolls isn't a smart way to get people on your side.
Half of the negative reaction towards Ghostbusters 2016 came from from Paul and Sony's overgeneralizing comments on the fan base and the usual, "If you criticize this, you are 100% sexist."

Yup bad move for Netflix I mean Netlflix is staring to act a little too much like pussys when hey are deleting comments and on YouTube comment section.Worst time to pick and play a show in the racial tensions are high.
Also I saw a few comments attacking them about them deleting the comments and calling them out on it and saying they are dividing people with this show.

The word racist is being thrown around entirely too freely these days. Everything is racist. I think people tend to use the word racist interchangeably with bigoted or prejudiced. Its not exactly the same thing.

I don't agree with Phil Robertson's stamce on gay people, but I never held his stance against A&E because they have other programs I like and I am not forced to watch DD as part of my A&E subscription.
I dont agree with the Chick-Fil-A's owner's stance on gay marriage, but I still eat their food because I love me some Chick-Fil-A, and I am not presented with a rant about their beliefs when I get their food.
I dont agree with that certain Mass Effect developers views on white people, but that does not change the fact that I love playing the first three Mass Effect games, and I love other Bioware games.
It is easy to separate a creator from their product for me, or an annoying program from a service provider. I see it as allowing people to enjoy what they want and believe what they believe in while i still do the same. I don't want people forcing their beliefs on me or trying to force me to change, so I do not do that to others.
Because I thought it was a worthwhile conversation to have even if only a few people would handle it correctly. Political discussions turning nasty is sadly something we just have to deal with now.
You sure?people like Angry Joe say otherwise about that movie and you probably didn t see what I saw, like I just watch it for 25 minutes and I couldn't watch it anymore.
I was on the facebook page for at least a month before the movie came out and most of the male fans were bashing the movie to the skies even then. Accusing it of being sexist against men, racist, all kinds of stuff. A lot of people were already biased against it. I saw the movie opening weekend and the only kind of "sexism" I saw was a few cracks that "Kevin" was making against the ladies. Something about them always being late or something. Otherwise, I thought all of the controversy and complaints were overblown to the point of being ridiculous. To me, GB16 was just a fun, summer movie that had females busting ghosts for a living. They didn't talk about anything in the film except their work and science.

OK still bringing that up doesn't help about what is being debated here like I feel like this show will fail cause of bad marketing and how … moreit will go down has a failure.that's not on me that clearly on the people who wrote it.also I'm pretty sure you didn't help in this thread, just saying glad you clarify on that
You don't think this is bad marketing and won't fail? Also, critically acclaimed film? Don't make me laugh; the film was a giant fucking failure, so why would they create a show - of this title - based on a failed film? Racism.
feel like this show will fail cause of bad marketing
Its not bad marketing if it gets people talking and is based on a critically acclaimed film, and is on Netflix.
This is like saying "All black people are criminals" or "All Muslims are terrorists." Black-face is a HUGE minority of asshole, scumbag, piece of shit ignorant white people. You can't say a lot of white people do it - that would be very anti-intellectual.
You're "assuming the worst, based on the title" again.
A shitty title for a shitty show. I can't really chill out when I see racism fr… moreom wherever it's coming from.
Dear lord, please get off your high horse. You're opposing an attack on your delicate sensibilities, not racism. This kinda thing is why I brought up the persecution complex earlier.
I'm somehow praying this will fail cause of the shit this show is doing with people like nothing more than racism.I just hate the show now and everytime I see that 30 second trailer?I feel like I want to hate the people who made this for the sole reason to hate white people

Yeah love Rhysha baby
I actually can well imagine this happening, lol.

It's pretty polarized, but in general, I've noticed a soft alt-right lean.

Yup, fuck them.
I saw Ghostbusters 16 and it wasn't anything like that.

Let me put it this way...
I don't agree with Phil Robertson's stamce on gay people, but I never held his stance against A&E because they have other programs I like and I am not forced to watch DD as part of my A&E subscription.

Its just a film, people should stop being so sensitive to this kind of material and just ignore it lmao.
WJW - White Justice Warrior
I like yours better...lets go with that.
Its not bad marketing if it gets people talking and is based on a critically acclaimed film, and is on Netflix.
Exactly. That's what I'm saying. The trailer made it out as if all white people do black face.
How? I've explained multiple times I'm talking about the racist trailer for the Netflix show.
This thread is back...
...yaaaay.
Ok, I understand the joke, but c'mon, Fox news is not racist.

I'm not on my high horse. It's in the damn title. I'm outraged over racism; any normal person would be and this is pure racism.
