Just saying, it's shit, yeah, but other companies do it just as much and I see them getting little to no backlash. It's only very certain companies I see getting backlash for it.
The 'disgusting' part here is, that FFXV was in development for 10 years. Also it seems like they couldn’t finish the game in time, so they add crucial features later down the line, like driving off-road with the car. Or the obviously cut out episodes, which are important for the Main Quest for continuity's and context's sake. (If you played the game, you know exactly, when these episodes take place. They are also important for the character development of the members of your group.)

More like 3 or 4 of real development. From 2006 to 2009/early 2010, it was essentially worked on by a skelleton crew that didn't make much more than a few cg trailers and cutscenes. I believe they had bbehind closed doors showing at TGS 2009 that reused tons of assets and characters from Final Fantasy XIII as well as a bunch of untextured models. From 2010 to 2012 there was wome actual work done on the game, but that got interrupted by the disaster that was FFXIV 1.0 and the sequels to XIII. Square then heard about the PS4 and XBO and knew the game would be outdated by the time it came out, so work on the PS3 version stopped.
The E3 2013 trailer reused cg scenes made for Versus, in spite of the rewrites having started before and during that point. The trailer was nothing more than a target render reusing the assets made during the PS3 era. The only parts that may have been in-game were the ones at the citadel, since the framerate seemed to tank in that footage.
Then the team ran into a lot of problems with engine itself. While Luminous can produce some beautiful results, it's a bitch to work for, and they almost certainly assumed the PS4 and XBO would be more powerful than they ended up being. At least the high res mode on the PS4Pro comes closer to getting it to look like the 2014 videos, but certain effects were still pared back.

This is disgusting. They clearly cut out parts from the game, to sell it as dlc. Square Enix as usual.
From what I heard they cut a LOT out, which is a damn shame. I normally don't buy DLC unless I really want them so I'll probably pass on these.

I have like 400 hours on the game. I get what you mean. I'm just saying we should be just as angry at other game studios too.
And i will be. But i get what you're saying. Gamers can be "inconsistent" in that regard.
