Favourite Video Game Performances THREAD
Post video game performances you think were very well performed, characters from what games. DO NOT INCLUDE TELLTALE STUFF BECAUSE THERE IS ALREADY A THREAD ABOUT IT. Here are my examples:
- Nolan North: Nathan Drake (Uncharted franchise)
- Troy Baker: Samuel Drake (Uncharted 4)
- Mark Hamill: Joker (Batman Arkham franchise)
- Ashley Johnson: Ellie (The Last of Us)
- Michael Hollick: Niko Bellic (GTA 4)
- Roger Craig Smith: Ezio Auditore Da Firenze (Assassin's Creed 2)
- Rami Malek: Josh Washington (Until Dawn)
- Paul Mercier: Leon Scott Kennedy (Resident Evil 4)
- TJ Rotolo: Frank West (Dead Rising)
- Brian Bloom: William Blaskowicz (Wolfenstein The New Order)

I am just gonna name the game characters and the game I don't want to look up the names I am lazy.
I ad more later
Seems I like I shouldn't have made this thread cause not many users are replying.
I know this is completely not what was implied..but...
Nicholas Boulton as Hawke (Dragon Age 2)
Heather Mason as... Heather Mason... yeah pretty convenient actress name I know. Her performance in Silent Hill 3 is probably the most realistic and grounded performance in any video game. She really sounds like a genuinely terrified teenage girl, and very snarky when she wants to be. But what's even more moving is her performance in a certain scene that I won't spoil, but for 2003 video game acting, it's probably the greatest and most emotional scene of it's time, and maybe of all time.
EDIT: Oh, apparently the actresses name is Heather Morris. Whoops.
EDIT 2: While I'm editing, I also want to say that Clifford Rippel does an equally amazing performance as Vincent Wolf.
Dave Fennoy as Lee Everett in The Walking Dead.
Hmm, I just discovered that many of my favorite games don't have voice acting or have very little. Anyway...
For sure Vaas from Far Cry 3; "Have I ever told you the definition of insanity?"
Original Geralt from the Witcher series, 10/10 performance. Also, I loved Vernon Roche and Iorweth, actors really gave their characters souls and made an unforgettable duo.
Both The Walking Dead (1&2) and The Last of Us crew, splendid work. This voice acting makes those two my top games of all the time.
Lutece twins from Bioshock Infinite, oh and Elizabeth too.
*Firewatch. Great chemistry between characters, really realistic dialogue.
It's all I can recall for now.
1: Paul Mercier as Leon S Kennedy (Resident Evil 4)
2: Vale De La Maza as Mariana (A New Frontier)
3: Brandon Keener as Paul "Jesus" Monroe (A New Frontier)
4: Jeff Schine as Javier García (A New Frontier)
5: Ashley Johnson as Ellie (The Last Of Us)
6: Brett Dalton as Michael "Mike" Munroe (Until Dawn)
7: Eric Ladin as Cole Macgrath (inFamous 1 & 2)
8: Karen Dyer as Sheva Alomar (Resident Evil 5)
And let us not forget Raison Varner as LoaderBot (Tales from the Borderlands)
Easily Alex Ivanovici as Talos Rucker in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. This guy is extremely underrated. When you talk to him, Alex performs in an amazing way. His dialogue was well done, he had a great amount of range in his performance, from his speeches in which he acted like a preaching pastor, to his laid back, pacifistic talk in a regular conversation. When he was angry, it felt real. When he was sad, I was sad. Combine that with the great writing for this game, my game of the year, and you have what I would call my favorite performance in video games.
tfw you're the only one to mention Heather Morris and Clifford Rippel's amazing performances
They're the actors who portrayed Heather Mason and Vincent Wolf in Silent Hill 3, which judging by this thread, is a severely underappreciated game.
I haven't really numbered them in any particular order, but these are some that come to mind right now.
Yeah I know who they are. Was just meant to be a joke
The whole cast? What?
Ah, cool.
Yeah... I was gonna say... A lot of the actors/actresses give an alright performance, but even to Max and Victoria's actresses? That's a bit much...
The only ones that did the best are Chloe, Jefferson and Kate. The rest sucked
Honestly I thought David pulled a pretty good performance and all the side characters with no impact on the story said their lines well and in a style they needed to. I'd wager the only ones that "sucked" per say were Max and Victoria. Everyone else ranges from average to great.
My Top 5 performances:
1) Ashley Johnson as "Ellie" in The Last of Us
2) Troy Baker as "Joel" in The Last of Us
3) Roger Craig Smith as "Ezio Auditore" in Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood/Revelations
4) Melissa Hutchison as "Clementine" and Dave Fennoy as "Lee Everett" in Telltale's TWD
5) The entire main cast from Uncharted 4, the dialogs between all important characters are so well done in this game.
EDIT: Honorable mentions:
I admit I was exaggerating. Not literally the entire cast but I just thought the main characters/actors did a pretty good job. They weren't voicing anyone heroic or out of the ordinary, just students with assignments and adults with regular jobs. Maybe it's a bit plain compared to most games we play which is why you disagree?
Just to name some off the top of my head... (I'm sure I'll remember who I'm forgetting later)
Nolan North, Emily Rose, and Richard Mcgonagle as Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher, and Sully in Uncharted 4
Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent in Batman: The Telltale Series
Ashley Johnson as Gortys in Tales from the Borderlands
Charles Martinet as Mario. Classic.
Nope. I've seen good actors portraying normal human beings with no much too their lives before. Max and Victoria's actresses are anything but imo.
Troy Baker- Joel in The Last of Us
Ashley Johnson- Ellie in The Last of Us
Nolan North- Nathan Drake in the Uncharted franchise
Steven Ogg- Trevor in GTA 5
Here are a few favourites in no particular order.
Holla, amen.
