The way it is now is fine. With the large fan base this game/company has, lots of questions are too be expected. If … morethere are a lot they shouldn't be limited and instead they should have multiple staff members answering questions, not just one.
So, you'd be okay with other staff answering questions in moments where Job was away?
Answer: Yes you can ask that! In general, there really is no set time for any episode we create. For the most part, lately we steer towards wanting to make each episode about feature-length. Effectively, about the length of a movie, where you might find yourself starting the game after dinner, and finished before it's time for bed. Consumable. Digestible. And easy enough to finish for you to talk about it the next day with friends. In making that content, we want to give you enough tailored story to find differences worth discussing, however subtle or obvious they may be. Sometimes we'll play an episode, and a little longer in playing/running time feels right. Sometimes it's a little shorter, but there's enough meat in it to feel just as right. We always listen to feedback, and we're listening right now! We don't think there will ever be a set running time like TV, but we like the flexibility of 'feature length' content right now to allow us to do whatever is necessary to get things feeling just right. At an average of $4.99 USD per episode, we absolutely want everyone to get their money's worth, and at less than half the cost of a feature length movie ticket... we're feeling like we're in just the right zone for how long or short our episodes might be.
I can already imagine a gang of fans surrounding Job in London saying questions and getting their Hidden Blades ready
Back in topic, What… more is your excuse for these short episodes in the new videogame of The Walking Dead, A New Frontier? I'm not trying to be rude, I swear! I just don't understand why the episode leght is so short. I know that a larger episode means more work, but I think it's worth the effort. I know you have an explanation to justify the lack of said effort, and even though know it won't be satisfying, I'd like to hear it. Art is for the artist, blahblahblah, I know, but this can be hardly considered art. I feel (I know) you are making this for money, one can tell this work lacks the inspiration the first Season had. Therefore, the art is not for the artist anymore (though a work made for money can never be art), it's for the expectator, for the consumer. And it hurts to see such a masterpiece like the first Season if this… [view original content]
As someone who has never done drugs, doesn't drink (never will), or anything like 'em, I was wondering (seeing as Javi does drugs, which is fine) I have to ask this one question (statement?): The one thing I never want my Clem to do is smoke, drink, do drugs, etc., and if Clem is able to do so, in this game, can it be a choice by the player? (Javi did get a choice) I don't want to be forced to be a bad parent! Plain and simple, those are the only things I never want my Clem to do/use.
Sorry for the long question and thanks so much for your time!
I was not expecting this many mixed replies to my question but let me clarify. I am not pin pointing any current series so anyone saying "This wouldn't fit or matter in EXAMPLE TT series" that was solely on you, I simply left my question open ended to not anger anyone. I am speaking about any future project or character that may be presented. The game examples I listed were my opinion, I am not saying we should flat out make a character one way, the beauty of TellTale is CHOICES give us the choice to develop our character and open them to the sexuality we feel fits the person we play or feel identified with. If you want to pursue the female love interest great, go for it, but give us an option to pursue the male one as well, regardless of the gender of the playable character.
Hello Job,
I'm glad to hear you are doing well, I feel like many people don't stop to think that this company is run by people who live li… moreves outside of work and therefore deserve a level of understanding and patience.
Now to my one question.
Will we ever see a playable LGBT character in a Telltale game? We saw it in amazing choice driven games such as Life is Strange and Dragon Age/Mass Effect. I feel like it not only adds demension to a character but opens up many big scenarios that many fans can relate to and feel identified with in our current society.
How was Max's open sexuality weird? If anything I applauded the Devs for making that an option when so many games are linear and don't allow you to be flexible with your character. We uncovered Max's story as we went each episode, we built her and fleshed her out. In a sense we made her the way we saw her, had she already had a concrete personality we wouldn't of had the ability to make choices for her.
I wouldn't put Life is Strange up there as a good example of that. Commander Shepard was fine in ME because he/she was mainly a blank canvas… more where you could create your own story about who they are whereas Max had an established character and personality and the idea of choosing what sexuality they were is honestly really weird.
The shitstorm that would ensue if we played an an lgbtq character though. I mean we had people complaining that there hasn't been a white ma… morein series playable character in TWD yet, if this happened there'd be even more people ranting about how telltale are 'SJWs'.
you didn't let the world know the "door was open for more". Your CEO confirmed that it was in development the day after Ep6 came out. So now what? It's been put on hold? Maybe you guys should complete a series before creating ten more.
How many years you gonna wait to finish that game? Season one is literally half of the game.
Thanks man! You're cool too, and I appreciate the respectful way you asked this question.
As far as GoTS2, it's true that we had let the w… moreorld know the door is open for more, and that we already know what we want to do next time around. We can say that it's not something with a release date at the moment, and that the second we have news on more Game of Thrones, you'll be hearing about it from us first, right here on our site.
Thanks Dave! Feels good to be feelin' good!
As far as rewind goes, I can't say there's a clear answer other than when we looked at the d… moreata coming back from users, only a VERY TINY percentage of players were actually using rewind. There may have been some technical reason as well that pushed it to the chopping block, but in truth, we really don't hear a lot of feedback from players asking for its return. Should that ever change, that feedback will most certainly be taken into consideration. That's how we do things!
There's nothing wrong with her sexuality, it's the fact that the player has a choice that makes it strange.
had she already had a concrete personality we wouldn't of had the ability to make choices for her.
Except that's just not true. Would you say Lee in TWD had a concrete character? Of course you would. But that doesn't mean we couldn't make choices while playing him. My problem is that the choice itself if it was presented more delicately (and I don't believe it was) then I wouldn't have a problem. Playing as Lee, we get to shape how he talks to everyone with lots of dialogue choices but his core character is still the same. It's the same deal here with Max but with even less dialogue choices. If Max made to be less ambigious in her sexuality I would have 0 problem but that's just not the case here.

Job, this is very important for me:

Yeah, I agree. Seeing as they have always given the player a choice every time it's been presented, I would assume it will be the same if Clem is confronted with the possibility of drinking and doing drugs. Still, it's safe to ask in my opinion.
Question: Why is it Jane's fault that the player has Clem drink? Other than "Ew jane is mean and bad" or "Jane offered the drink in the first place." Just wondering.
Well she did offer it in the first place (the only one out of the whole group to do so, might I add) and should have known better than to offer a young and growing child hard liquor during the zombie apocalypse.

To be 100% fair, she's seen her family as brain eating monsters, she had to shoot her closest friend, she watch 2 of her survivor groups die painful horrible deaths, she's seen people eating each other and she's swore and killed people and zombies. A little alcohol wouldn't hurt.

I wouldn't really say she'd drink to cope, more than it is a thing of "Hey I could die at literally any second and I'll probably never get to experience everything I want to in life so fuck it a small sip won't hurt."

Maybe I'll host a Q&A. I'll give you all answers. There will be absolutely no substantiating them and most will be fictitious, but I'll give you answers.
Including a long plane ride, settling in, and a meet up with fans(I assume that happened?). While it doesn't excuse their behaviour, you have to see their frustration here. His second shot at this was in the middle of the night for the Eastern time zone in North America.
Job, maybe try to give them some prime time? A little 5-7pm EST? I don't think anyone is expecting you to sit here for 3 days answering questions. Well, most people anyway.
Comments
Of course I would be okay with it. Myself and everyone included.
I figured as much - I ask so I can have verifiable evidence to direct the attention of staff to, if that makes sense.
Here's his answer about that :

Looking back, do you think, TTG made their games the best way possible after TWD S1?
Would also be nice if you could explain your answer and go into detail if possible.
Thanks for coming out here and all the best for the trip to UK!
We just want someone who knows and can speak officially for Telltale. It can be Job or anyone else there.

Which game would you say was the hardest for telltale to develop?

What was the decision process like for picking a comic character to use in TWD ANF? Especially one beloved by fans.
Because thats something we want to see done well. I loved Jesus in episode 2, so good work.
Didn't know about that but I'd still love to hear what he has to say about it :P
Jesus Christ, it has only Been a couple of days and we are almost at 200 comments. I doubt Job is gonna go through all that.
So what? Those people will always complain.
Why did you change the menu and stopped putting songs into the credits? It gave the game much more atmosphere.
Yeah you're not wrong, the feels coming from that song was crazy.
you didn't let the world know the "door was open for more". Your CEO confirmed that it was in development the day after Ep6 came out. So now what? It's been put on hold? Maybe you guys should complete a series before creating ten more.

Scene selection probably isn't widely used on DVDs. I still think it's a convinient feature.
This game has a large fan base, what they should be doing is getting more staff to help him answer the questions.

This is something I really appreciate in TTG games. As someone who is pretty 'straight edge' I'm glad I'm not forced into having to drink/smoke/etc.
I'm not straight edge but it still blows my mind that some players willingly chose to have Clem smoke a cigarette.
I see it more as a "cross it off your bucket list kind" of thing.
To be fair, he only has to look at the non-replies, since he's just here to answer one question per user.
Addendum: most of the posts are probably replies.
Job, you ever coming back?
And they chose to let her drink. Another reason why I hated Jane.
Yeah, I agree. Seeing as they have always given the player a choice every time it's been presented, I would assume it will be the same if Clem is confronted with the possibility of drinking and doing drugs. Still, it's safe to ask in my opinion.
Stop acting like a bunch of screaming fans on the internet is their priority
Question: Why is it Jane's fault that the player has Clem drink? Other than "Ew jane is mean and bad" or "Jane offered the drink in the first place." Just wondering.
PR's don't make the game. When your job is PR, public relations, which means COMMUNICATION with the public, it IS their priority.
Well she did offer it in the first place (the only one out of the whole group to do so, might I add) and should have known better than to offer a young and growing child hard liquor during the zombie apocalypse.
Where's Job?

Beginning to drink in order to cope with the world would be a very slippery slope for a young girl.
I wouldn't really say she'd drink to cope, more than it is a thing of "Hey I could die at literally any second and I'll probably never get to experience everything I want to in life so fuck it a small sip won't hurt."
Welp, at least he's having himself a good time.
Yeah, that too.
Maybe I'll host a Q&A. I'll give you all answers. There will be absolutely no substantiating them and most will be fictitious, but I'll give you answers.
Cool it guys he's been gone for 2 days.
