1. Breaking Bad: Is there a bad episode of this series? Some may say Fly, but even that episode had some great character development. The development of Walter White from hero to outright villain is a highlight, as is Bryan Cranston's acting, and Ozymandias is one of the best episodes ever put on TV, a perfect hour of television.
2. Avatar: The Last Airbender: I wasn't a fan when I was kid (because I was dumb and thought SpongeBob was quality television), but after watching the series for the first time over the summer, it's one of the best shows I've ever seen. The characters, the story, the blend of humor, drama, and action, it was amazing. And much like with Ozymandias, The Southern Raiders is one of the greatest TV episodes I have ever seen.
3. The Walking Dead: While my least favorite of TWD related media, the show still provides an immensely enjoyable experience. The show struggles with pacing, but when the show gets going, it is one of the greatest things on TV (of course, when it slows down, it becomes one of the dullest). But it's not all about the action and zombie killing, the themes and the character's journey is what attracts you to the show.
4. South Park: One of the funniest TV shows on TV, despite it being around for over 20 years. What I admire is that, despite how long it's been going, it's still just the same two guys handling everything, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. They don't care who they offend, who they piss off, who they satirize, everyone and everything is fair game to them, they do it unapologetically and we all love them for it. And with how PC the world is becoming, we especially need it now more than ever.
5. The Legend of Korra: It's difficult to follow up what many regard as one of the best animated TV shows of all time in Avatar, but Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko did it. There are some misses and bumps along the way, but I put that more on Nick continuously screwing over the writers. It's still an ingeniously written and beautifully animated show, and like Avatar, it never treats its audience as stupid kids.
Avatar: The Last Air Bender
Voltron: Legendary Defender
Wakfu
Kim Possible
The Flash
Gravity Falls
Pokemon (Indigo League/X and Y)
I'm a cartoon fan. ^_^
I'm gonna watch a couple other shows this year, so this list isn't quite complete yet.
Deadwood
Luther
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
Bojack Horseman
Stranger Things
Westworld
Narcos
There are a lot more, but I just leave these 8 here.
Btw. Wouldn’t it be a good idea, to have an official TV-Show thread, where everyone can discuss the shows they're currently watching?
-Breaking Bad
-Avatar: The Last Airbender/ Legend of Korra
-Attack on Titan
-Gravity Falls
-Friends
-Malcolm in the Middle
-Peep Show
-Lost
-Sherlock
-Old SpongeBob
-The Twilight Zone
-The Simpsons
-Stranger Things
Game of Thrones - Do I even need to explain? It's not perfect, but it's just such a treat to a fan of fantasy. I've watched every episode of the show at least 3 times, many of them probably closer to 10. Yeah, GoT is my favorite thing ever
True Detective - But ONLY season 1. Season 2 is passable, but not worthy of being among my favorites. S1 however, that is just amazing. It does a fantastic job at creating this eerie atmosphere that just keeps you hooked. The story is great, and Rustin Cohle is one of my favorite characters ever.
Fargo - Both seasons are awesome! Violence and dark comedy, mixed with some drama, who doesn't like that?!
Westworld - It took a couple episodes to convince me, but then I was hooked! Definitely need to rewatch it though, because I know it will be a very different experience after knowing answers to all the mysteries from the beginning.
Taboo - So far. Season 1 isn't over yet, but for the first 7 episodes it has been just amazing. It starts a bit slow, but Tom Hardy does such a great job as the main character, and the atmosphere is so strong that it didn't even bother me. Can't wait to see what will happen in the last episodes of the season, and whether that will change my opinion, for better or worse.
Honorable mentions: Stranger Things, Daredevil, Misfits, Black Sails
idk I just made a worst and best shows thread
I think i'll just do it.
Avatar: The Last Airbender

Scrubs

Prison Break
What is Scrubs about?
alright
You... don't know Scrubs? How is that possible.
It's a "medical comedy-drama" series. More comedy but it has lots of serious, dramatic moments that teach you important things in life as well. It has eight seasons that are well done and I've never seen another tv-show that got a well-written, rounded ending like this one. The music is awesome as well.
I think you are my soulmate if it comes to TV series. Add Vikings and Leftovers and we can get married.
Haha Well, I've been meaning to start Vikings for a while now. Haven't really paid much attention to Leftovers though, what is it about?
It's about 2% of human population suddenly vanishing into thin air. Many associated this with some divine intervention, since no science could explain it. After this event, wife of the main character, a cop, joined a cult of "Guilty Remnant" which members dress up all white, don't talk and are constantly reminding people that their lives are hopeless and not worth living. There's also a lady who has lost 3 of her family members that day.
I wasn't hooked up first, but then I got so suprised up by the quality of the plot, amazingly written characters, soundtrack and all the emotions. I'm not a thin-skinned person to begin with and I was almost crying at the end.
I haven't been able to watch it
avatar TLA - The Strain - TWD - Good Behavior - Fear TWD - Breaking Bad - And number 1 out of EVERYTHING EVER (Avatar is number 2 because it's fucking awesome)
The SOPRANOS
Steins;Gate
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
Stranger Things
Monster
Parasyte
Clannad: After Story
Westworld
The Walking Dead
Beavis And Butthead
Hm, sounds interesting. Definitely going to check out at some point, since we seem to have a very similar taste in TV series.
Breaking Bad
Rick and Morty
And "back in the day" I loved Stargate Antlantis and Top Gear
Oh, and Monty Python's Flying Circus and Fawlty Towers of course
Stranger Things - This reminded me of Twin Peaks, which I secretly watched at the age of 10 through a keyhole to the living room. Its probably not the story that got me (Science-Fiction plot, mixed up with some anti-government stuff and coming-of-age), but the awesome characters. The Sheriff is incredibly well-designed, all the kids are interesting characters and even the evil government guy is made with creativity. Only the teenager parts can get boring, but thats just nitpicking. Awesome series, really interested in Season 2!
Breaking Bad - Probably the best series of the 21st century. Incredibly well-told story with characters, that all deserve a standalone. And at the end, I'ts just a guy with cancer who needs money. The only series I enjoyed more than Breaking Bad in my entire life was...
The Simpsons - I grew up with the Simpons. Till I was 20 I watched every single episode. At 6 PM, the TV was occupied, because me and my dad were having our view into the USA. Even today, I sometimes watch them, but I enjoy them much less, since half of the german voice actors are already dead or got fired for no reason at all.
The Walking Dead - ...deserves a notable mention, but not much else. Season 1 was great, Season 2 alright, but I really don't like the rest. It's just not my imagination of how an apokalypse would turn out to be. Same problem with the Season 2 and AnF from the Telltale Series. And Rick is...just no. Go away, Rick, I don't like you. Still, intersting to watch, with an amazing soundtrack.
GOD I could go on about good TV (I used to work in television! Fun fact!), and I agree but one show that will always stick with me is Pushing Daisies. Love the aesthetic, the sense of humor, the musical numbers... this show was made for me
In no order.
Rick and Morty and THE SIMPSONS(For god's sake!)
Sigh, where to start?
Farcape is the only show I watch atleast once a year, so that would have to be my all time favorite. Gotto love Claudia Black.
More recent shows I liked; Bates Motel, Orphan Black, Black Sails, the Killing, Broadchurch, How to Get Away with Murder.
Oh, and there's always Dr Who.
TWD, Dr Phil, South Park, Bob Burgers, American dad, Family Guy, Celebrity Juice, Match of the day, Father Ted, IT crowd
woah I keep getting Breaking Bad as a response, it must be really good
Another Person of Interest fan? YUS! IT'S been a long time since I met anyone liking it.
Hell On Wheels.
And yes, Breaking Bad is really good. There's a reason it won awards.
No particular order
yuss
Hmm... tough choice since I don't watch TV all that often, and my fam just got Netflix a few months back after much convincing from friends, but here we go:
Let's see... other than that, not much else I can think of. I just started watching Suits the other day, and that seems pretty decent so far, but there's nothing else that really has me glued to the computer screen and waiting for news about the next episode.
Its the most underrated TV-Show ever. I've only watched Seasons 1-3 so far, but it's really really good.
I don't watch that many TV shows, but I like:
Stranger Things
Prison Break - The 4th season was kind of boring and repetitive to me, but the new season looks so good.
The Walking Dead -
Too many people only watch this for the zombies. There are more threats than zombies. There are villains, and if the show were just survivors shooting zombies all the time it would get boring. (Although there was a bit too much Negan in the first half of S7.)
Family Guy
Futurama SpongeBob - Season 6 and 7 are nowhere near as good as the first 5. (Season 6 and 7 are the only seasons on Netflix -_-)
and The Simpsons.
Like I said, I haven't watched many TV shows.
I have not watched Breaking Bad. Or Game of Thrones and I don't intend to.
Lethal Weapon and That 70's Show.
