Can I see your reasoning as well? Because to me it seems like some of their best employees are gone.

Can I also get a PM

  • Could you also send me the reasoning please?

I will PM you the answer as it could get me a ban...

  • Sucks that such big names are leaving. I hope Telltale can keep creating good content.

  • Don't see the need for a PM.

Nothing said that's positive about Telltale gets removed or banned.

Yikessss. I wish them the best of luck, but yeah that's a bit worrying. I don't think any of those peeps worked on Batman though, and that was excellent so I'm not straight up scared yet.

  • And there is also the fact that they didn't worked on Game of Thrones as well, so I am not too worried.

  • Crud. Those guys made some amazing stuff for Telltale. I hope this won't affect Telltale games too negatively.

  • I think Pierre did a little bit of writing for Batman. He wasn't one of the main contributors, but he did write a bit for it.

  • Nicole Martinez is still around, and working on Guardians, so thank god for that

  • So because I'm not happy with how ANF has been, I'm a drama queen? Please - you're not helping.

    Drama queen

  • The woman who gave us Dat scene in Batman? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • And all the excellent character development between Harvey and Bruce, like come on now Dave, get your mind out of the gutter. (ᵃᶫᵗʰᵒᵘᵍʰ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᶦˢ ᵃ ᵛᵉʳʸ ᶰᶦᶜᵉ ˢᶜᵉᶰᵉ)

  • Don't remind me of that heartbreaking bro scene...I still get teary thinking about watching my friend fall to madness and it was partly my fault.

Emily Garrison also helped a lot with Batman.

I knew that Emily was part of the team and helped a lot too. So I went to wikipedia and search just to make sure I got her name right. Then I didn't find it. Super weird. Guess I should never trust Wikipedia.

  • No because you assume everything is already shit just because telltale lost some good writers. They're other writers out there i understand these guys wrote the good stuff but that doesnt mean they wont ever find other good writers

Strange, maybe she doesn't have a Wikipedia page or the person editing it didn't add her name. Nichole and Emily are both working on GOTG which is cool to see :).

  • Eh, after what's been happening with Telltale's games lately, I don't blame them. They'll be missed though.

  • Well this just makes me happy. I hope we get scenes. too. ;)

  • Me eight!

I could send you my reasoning as well if you want.

  • These guys were our last hope. For ANF almost none of the other writers worked on S1 or S2, except that breckon guy - but he's probably on guardians because Telltale is putting all the effort into that game which I don't give a damn about instead for whatever reason - and there's no way a new lead who knows nothing about the first Tales would make Tales 2 good (if that happens) evident by ANF. Wolf S2 (if that happens) will be in the same situation.

If anything, ANF might just be decently shit. I'm sorry I'm not as optimistic as you are for the rest of ANF/TT's games, but we saw what happened when Sean left after Season 1. I just have the feeling the same thing will happen here.

  • I kinda wished, they went to Campo Santo. Sean Vanaman, Jake Rodkin, Pierre Shorette, Nick Herman and Dennis Lenart in the same team? Jesus, that game would've been awesome.

But i don't blame them for leaving. I actually expected them to leave earlier, since it's clear, that Kevin Bruner doesn't plan to change anything at Telltale. It's still the same broken engine and the same, shitty management as it has always been. But as long as the sales go strong...

    Oh wait.

Seriously though, what needs to happen to the company to force a change? They're clearly not listening to the criticism.

Oh and by the way: there is a difference between listening to criticism and just reading the criticism.

  • Honestly, I'd be surprised if Telltale doesn't go under before the year ends. In fact, I think with the path they're on, it would be the best thing for them.

  • Yep, and with Shorette gone she's probably the best writer at Telltale, and her working on Guardians has me really excited.

Nicole Martinez is still around, and working on Guardians, so thank god for that

  • Guys. Girls. They're not going to go under. They survived years making a very small fraction of what they're making now. They can always cut staff and go back to making 1 game every year or two again.

Highly doubtful as, in the almost 4 years Breckon has worked at Telltale, he has only ever worked on TWD, he has so far never been involved with any of Telltale's other games. The only time Breckon has appeared in the credits of any Telltale game that wasn't TWD was as a special thanks in Minecraft. And even with TWD, he wasn't involved with the Michonne mini series.

Even recent failures by TWD standards like GoT and TftB, had more sales than older successes like Back to the Future. They are doing just fine.

That said, they aren't going to bring themselves into triple A territory at this trend.

  • In terms of sales... yep.

In units, it undersold Poker Night 2
In both, it was nearing half of TWAU.
    It did beat GoT though.

More like the Vivendi forums if they were to succeed in taking over Ubisoft. As of December, they already owned 25% of the company, nearing the 30% hostile takeover point.

Well, I'll see y'all over at Ubisoft's forums.

  • That's desperation. I don't think they could hire anybody that would lure me there. They're turning into the new cancer of the industry... As long as EA doesn't pull something out of left field with the Mass Effect release to keep that crown.

  • Ubisoft is already cancer, I'd argue that they have already become the embodiment of everything wrong with the triple A gaming industry.

  • It's always a bummer to see talented folks leave the studio but I wish them the best of luck.

At least Pierre and Nick's influence ended on a A+++ swan song with Tales from the Borderlands.

  • If Ubi is already cancer, what will they be if Vivendi takes over? You can at least kiss Beyond Good and Evil 2 goodbye.

Best of luck to them though.

  • PM me please! I'd like to know!

  • What it will take Is for the company to have a negative public image and reception and potential decrease in sales. As long as telltale is making money with a good public image they basically ignore and dismiss all negative reception.
