I don't think they listen to the (original) fans and have forgotten what made their games so special.
Also they have terrible PR. I wish they did better but thats not going to happen.
Telltale is currently my favorite videogame company. With TWD S1, TWD S2, TWAU, TFTBL and MC:SM being some of my most favorite games ever.
And yes, I like MC:SM and TWD S2.
There are very few companies that make the type of games that Telltale does, which is dialogue focused, story driven games, the only other g… moreames that comes to mind are Witcher and Mass Effect, and even they are fundementally different, the only game I have been genuinely disappointed by from Telltale is A New Frontier, but that still has the potential to be great, and its not all bad, I was just hoping for more Clementine, oh well, there is always season 4 (I hope).
I genuinely enjoy their style of games, even if choices dont really matter in the grand scheme of things, I really enjoy getting into character, and having the option to respond like I think the character would.
A new frontier put so much effect on their options, C`mon you cant recognize they dont, 4 ways to contied, And bound with season 2, they exelent.
i appreciate your suport and if you dont have time to view another endings use youtube
I actually like that the choices you make doesn't actually affect much, because I don't have time to replay games. But, I think that Telltale's choice of titles to work on are desired to be better. Their writing talent can be put to better use.
Realy ? you know how hard is to make a game ?!? did you have any idea ? And games like Twd with difrent endigs and the choices matters, so much work to put in.
I wanna tell you guys something on description what i forgot.
Telltale company and game is not that all, is an experience, they put emotions in their game, they put personality and thats someting anather company don`t do! its unic
TellTale has come very far already, but that's not to say they can't do better. It'd be nice if they had an engine that they didn't have to update every now and again, had slightly better writing... but these are complaints that others have repeatedly made, and honestly apart from these (and perhaps the clunky mechanics, not including the android versions of their games), there remains tremendous potential. I love the idea of their style, even if I have yet to see a "perfect" game from them (or, in other words, a personal favorite that will last). They're hard workers, and their fanbase can be fun to chat with, which is rare in any form of entertainment. I remain standing both excited and curious as to what they'll do next.
You`re wrong, choices still have effect at the game, its not how you think episodes duration, the duration is astimated, how games work (ideas), no how he wants to make long or short. Hope you know what i say.
I used to praise the games they made but I have to admit, ever since TWDGS1 was finished, they started making choices have less effect on th… moree story and relationships, things were becoming more static in that sense, episodes were getting shorter, more and more action was being added to the point that there was little time to reflect and less game-play was added (which didn't seem that possible). I still enjoy TTG's latest games, but I feel like they truly have gone downhill, and despite making many great games, as the years go by, the newer ones seem to end up having more and more flaws but I won't give up on the company.
Maaan, stop talking like you should be guilty for liking TWD Season 2, its not a bad game at all, it may not be quite as universally liked as season 1, but I actually prefer season 2 over season 1
Telltale is currently my favorite videogame company. With TWD S1, TWD S2, TWAU, TFTBL and MC:SM being some of my most favorite games ever.
And yes, I like MC:SM and TWD S2.
Half of their games I really really like (TWD s1, TWAU, TFtB, GoT) and half I think are mediocre to bad (the rest). So ya a decent company t… morehat just refuses to up their game so unless the story really knocks it out of the park their games tend to be whatever.
Pre TWD S2, favorite days as a gamer, one of my favorite game companies.
Post TWD S2, not so much.
I will buy S1 on Disc for my new PS4 and maybe TWAU but after that, i'll consider myself done with TTG for a good long while. I'll still post, but game-wise, probably not.
Unless they make TWAU S2 or another game that catches my eye, consider me done with TWDS3 and beyond. Oops, sorry, Walking ATF. What a joke.
A New frontier isn't done I have no real opinion on it yet. S2 is terrible due to Ep 4 and 5 with determinant characters like Nick and Sarah getting the shaft, Ridiculous character decisions (Jane and the baby), the forced Arvo sympathy from characters, Jane and Kenny being the final confrontation when the game had been building Luke versus Kenny the whole time. And a bunch of other minor things make the game just behind Minecraft SM as their worst game.
I wanna tell you guys something on description what i forgot.
Telltale company and game is not that all, is an experience, they put emotions in their game, they put personality and thats someting anather company don`t do! its unic
lol I don't actually hate Telltale, I would not be able to make a game that can please ALL the fans ALL the time myself. I just think they could be better .....
Do you? I doubt you have any more experience in game development than the rest of us, it would be pretty unfair for you to preach about how hard it is when you don't have any idea either.
Realy ? you know how hard is to make a game ?!? did you have any idea ? And games like Twd with difrent endigs and the choices matters, so much work to put in.
They've made some of my best video game experiences. TWD seasons 1 and 2 and Game of Thrones are probably my favorite video game stories, to… more the point where they were making me emotional because I cared about the characters so much. TWAU and TFTB were memorable as well.
That being said, I absolutely loathe how business has been of late. Their games are buggy to the point of breaking the games and making them impossible to complete. Their new CEO shamelessly lied about ANF and the quality of their games has gone down significantly with their growth despite him insisting that that wouldn't happen. They seem intent on focusing on a new audience while taking their loyal fan base for granted. To say I am disappointed in this company would be a gross understatement. I have bought every Telltale episode on release day since TWD s1, but now I'm 95% sure that I wont be continuing after ANF.
Walking Dead Season 1 is my favorite game ever and it will probably stay that way for a long, LONG time, a good chance forever. Walking Dead Season 2 is also very good in my eyes, while flawed, it still is amazing compared to Season 3. I don't want Javier, Kate, Gabe, David, or any of those people. What do I want? I wanted a game that carried over our Season 2 choices like they actually fucking mattered. I wanted a game that kept Kenny alive because I fought 2 damn seasons, around 20 hours in total to keep him alive. I wanted a game that's not an hour in length for a fucking episode, compared to the 2.5/3 hours we got per episode in Season 1. I wanted a game that makes Clementine more than a sidekick. I bought a fucking Gaming PC to replace my old regular PC solely to play this game because of how shit Batman ran on my PS4. I expected more. I expected damn more. And unless they rectify their wrongs with the flashbacks and make them nightmares, and they bring Kenny back (or Jane if you chose her) and they pick up the fucking story, I will no longer be a fan. Telltale has damn near burned all it's bridges with me because of ANF and ANF alone. TWD1, TWD2, Wolf, GOT, Batman, Michonne, Tales, etc are all amazing games, but New Frontier has been enough to really put a bad taste in my mouth with this company.
They are probably just gonna keep up making games only to earn money and dropping quality till they become official shit. Then they're gonna lose respect because other games like Life is Strange are gonna do it better. They should drop that minecraft shit and start on The wolf among us season 2.
It makes me sad to talk like that, but I'm afraid it's the truth. Where is all the originality? Now it's all about stories that everyone already knows. I loved to play TWAU because it was so different from what I already see on TV or other games, for example. But obviously, TWD is gonna get all the attention, so is minecraft and GOT, and the smaller audiencies that keep asking for a TWAU season two, they give riddled answers not confirming nor denying anything.
Everyone here basically nailed it on the head. Season 1 of TWD is what made me a fan, but after playing season 2, it just felt 'okay to good'.
As for Season 3...err, I mean ANF, it's not really a 5 episode series. Telltale is just trying bullshit their way into saying it's 5 episodes because episodes 1 and 2 are collectively 1.5-2 hours long, when they could've just combined 1 & 2 and call the whole thing episode 1.
But with that in mind, if episode 3 is as long as episode 1 or 2, then I'd be very pissed because we the fans waited 3+ months (assuming it really does release in "late March") for 60 minute content. This 3+ month wait in between episodes is really losing my interest and making me forget the story. I don't even care for some of the characters tbh.
If this continues, then I won't bother buying future games, I'll just watch them on YouTube if I'm interested enough.
A great company full of talented people with a currently... (for the most part)...good track record of making remarkable stories.
Despite being a part of the community that was disappointed with ANF's lackluster start, I still have faith that they can pick themselves up from this fumble!
Maybe I'm setting myself up for another disappointment but I guess that's the risk an optimist has to take, even as a cautious one.
Comments
Telltale have first moderator`s in the world who cares about fan and company
Shorter Episodes, Horrible Flashbacks, Less Clementine Play time, Dull Characters and bad Soundtrack.
Pls tell me what ANF is.
Suport telltale, Suport will give Telltale some motivation to be awsome
Great . I like too, all the walking dead season.

I absolutely LOVE waiting 2 - 6 months for 18% of a game
Oh and I LOVE that ultimately my choices don't matter too much because the game follows a basic story no matter what
and did I mention I LOVE bugs, glitches and frame rate drops during heavy action set pieces? LOVE that sht mang!
Telltale, you are MY kinda company =]
Pfft
Ehm CDProject and Red Barrels do that too but better.
I had to google red barrels I dont remember there being choice in outlast

I wish we had another game with similar vibes to TWAU.
your insight is much needed and sought after
What's the colour of your other eye though?
