Why removing the "rewind" option is a bad decision
I assume this topic was brought up already in other threads. However I've just finished the game (enjoyed it) and want to go all grumpy on one single issue I had with it - the absence of the "rewind" options all previous Telltale games had.
I can assume that they removed this to make the decisions in the game feel more permanent, and therefore to add more weight to them. Supposedly this should place the game higher on the fun scale? However, some of us have very busy lives, which doesn't go well with loving video games. We live in a time of eternal backlogs, which is making me try to get the most content out of the game in the shortest amount of time.
In other Telltale games, after I beat the game, I could use the rewind to go back to major decisions and see other branches, but now I have to replay the whole episode for that? It would simply take too much time.
Well, this have forced me to watch alternative paths on YouTube and greatly reduced the fun I had with this game. I've seen many complaints about this on the web. So, if you're a developer and this was just an experiment, I implore you to reconsider adding it back in further games. Thank you.

First off...good argument. But I feel that the rewind option rewarded lazy play too much...don't like how it turned out...copy your save..then rewind. You eliminate consequences when you do that. So I can see your point...but I can see their point as well. In the end, maybe they should have left it in. Or at least change the saving system.
They can just enable it after the game have been beaten for the first time. I.e. you beat the last episode, watch the ending, and then the rewind option is enabled and you can explore alternative paths without replaying the whole game. Why not?
I asked Job about it during his AMA. This was his answer to the question:
As far as rewind goes, I can't say there's a clear answer other than when we looked at the data coming back from users, only a VERY TINY percentage of players were actually using rewind. There may have been some technical reason as well that pushed it to the chopping block, but in truth, we really don't hear a lot of feedback from players asking for its return. Should that ever change, that feedback will most certainly be taken into consideration. That's how we do things!
I just thought that what if... what if... they just want to hide the fact that choices are not affecting much in the game?
Naah, I'm just paranoid.
How is it bad? It's not a competitive game.
Telltale won't remember that.

I know this is an old comment but I do not see why the way some people choose to play the game should matter to others. If a person decides to copy their save, rewind, and do something differently, isn’t that their choice? Why shouldn’t they be allowed to do that?
“Rewarded lazy play”... if this was a specific reason for TTG to remove it, why should they care? They’ve made their money, why not let us enjoy it as we please. Of course, you could use the same argument for them not adding the rewind feature (they’ve made their money, why bother including rewind?) but the former reasoning just doesn’t add up.
This isn't a competitive multiplayer game. If I want to rewind on a different save to see the other paths or to replay some scenes, that should be possible. I payed for the game, if I choose to redo my save that's my right. I don't rewind my original save, but it should be possible for people who want to.
