They're not meant to be pushed that far away from their teeth.

I don't know what is funnier here. The woman's walking animation, or the man on the right who is just frozen in place.

    enter image description here

It's like this is the the Alpha or Pre-Beta build of the game, because while it's complete in terms of content, it's buggy as hell and most of the animations don't work or are placeholder.

  • Her wide and vacant stare isn't helping either.

I mean, that's the opposite of having a face that is tired with everything.

  • After watching a 4 hour play....I love it so far...but I agree with all the hate for those faces...the way they walk. It is like you had a 3d artist from the planet Zorxblaxx 10 create and animate humans from a sketch that one of his pals made from memory when all the photos and recordings they had of real humans were lost in a fire.

These models and animations are unacceptable....hell I now respect the whole Kenny's model in ANF...because at least Telltale had the decency to kill it off fast. I can see modders will be doing a lot of work.

Aria definitely seemed to be more into women. She kisses Shepard differently depending on their gender in the Omega DLC.

  • So four days until ME: A. I'm looking forward to it.

  • So I just happened to stumble across this video with a thumbnail where Sara is smiling. :)

Once again, she certainly like to smile a lot.

  • So a character who smiles a lot is a bad thing? Her personality probably includes a little optimism.

Did you watch the video? It was clearly made to mock Andromeda. The Internet is having a field day with all the bugs and awkward animations.

Tbh this has made me sad, but I'm still gonna go into the game with an open mind. I'm not a very harsh game critic (I was able to enjoy Destiny after all), so I doubt I'll hate or dislike it as much as so many others already do.

  • A co-worker watched a 5hr lp today and said there were a few derpy faces, but other than that, it was fine.

I'm still optimistic... or at least optimistic for my second playthrough a few months from now :D

  • Man, the character creator and and models are a HUGE step back from the original trilogy. I'd attribute it to nostalgia if I wasn't halfway through a trilogy run at the moment. That said, I've been really loving the trial, I've probably got a about an hour left on it but I can't express how happy I am that planetary exploration and loot returned. There are some minor things I'm glad to see return and I wish weren't taken out, but overall I can't wait for Tuesday.

  • Okay, I have to admit, Mass Effect: Andromeda is looking like a clusterfuck of bugged animations :\ I'm less content to buy the game now, at least until they deliver us a patch that at least puts ME:A to the standard of a Bioware game, I feel like they might've focused too much on the open world aspect and the ability to customize classes and powers (not character customization though). The saving grace could be the story and characters hopefully!

  • Despite of all those hilarity, I still am looking forward to Tuesday. Honestly, I'm not really disappointed cause I only expected it to be just like ME3. So, I didn't get my hopes up real high. The only disappointment will be if they cut the gay romance arc for male Ryder. Can't wait for Tuesday to come! :D

  • Or maybe Ryder punched the air so hard, she created a shockwave that KO'd the other guy.

I'm not looking forward to this game, the gameplay doesn't look engaging to me, the open world seems empty, the interface and crafting seems sluggish, it looks like it will have the same resource grind inquisition did. The combat looks basic, the ai seems incredibly dumb, and the elephant in the room, the character models, including their skin, face textures, face meshes, proportions, and especially the animations are not something I'm okay with.

As someone who greatly enjoys character customization in games, I am hugely let down by how restrictive this system is, and how terrible the models look and animate. They still have horrible hair, and they still haven't allowed for body customization either, along with a horrible limitations where you cannot change the mouth, nose, eyes, or almost any part of the face other than really poorly made presets.

I already was hugely let down by Inquisitions character creator and the model quality/animation, despite the options available, it felt restrictive, and there was always some kind of visual issue with your character no matter how hard you tried.

I don't preorder games on principle (I really wish people would stop doing that), and unless they somehow manage to actually improve the game post launch (which almost never happens), and don't rip people off with dlc (30 AU dollar dlc for Inquistion's ending!), I am not touching this product.

Looking back, I have accidentally repeated myself, so it's interesting how much these issues are prevalent in my mindset when I think about this game. Well, I'm looking forward to Cyberpunk and Agents Of Mayhem, at least, so hopefully they turn out well. Not pre ordering them though ;/

I think it IS a biotic punch, actually. 'Course that's no fun to believe.

  • I was shocked that the presets had locked in features like that, rather than being able to freely choose the nose, eye, and ear types on the head shapes. It was a pain working with those restrictions, and even putting the time into settings there's still moments when my character just looks insanely weird. I wish they would have went back to ME3s engine and built on that, I was never a fan of Inquisitions. Combat feels kind of like 3s multiplayer, which I did enjoy.

? I honestly tend to let my own experience with the game dictate how I feel about it, rather than an article or YouTube video so its pretty much guaranteed if I'm interested I'm going to buy it. It's also nice to have the game preloaded for when I get home from work Tuesday mornings lol

Youtube videos and articles are the very things that make me interested in games in the first place.

There is such a huge interesting library of games out there that I have no problem waiting for a few months to a year to see how a product turns out (and what occurs post launch).

I got ripped off with Inquisition because of disturbingly overpriced dlc, no bundle, and then they released a "GOTY" edition, with no ability to upgrade, screwing over early adopters. I haven't touched any of the dlc for that reason.

You have no idea how a game is going to turn out until it releases, preordering is completely pointless, you gain nothing substantial, you pay more than you need to, and publishers increasingly do worse and more manipulative practices that hurt consumers.

If you are interested in a game, get it, it's awesome that you can enjoy it, I just don't understand why people don't just buy it when it's out and when they are certain it's something you want, preordering is just so utterly pointless, and as shown with Watch Dogs, No Mans Sky, Unity, AC 3, Battlefield 4, Halo 5, and tonnes of other products, what is advertised is not always what you will get.

The game has also been downgraded since the trailers.

For me, personally, even if some of the gameplay is mildly interesting, I might avoid a game because 1. It's overpriced for what you get, or 2. I don't buy it on principle because I don't want to support bad business practices in the gaming industry. If the combat is good, and the multiplayer is good, that isn't enough for me, especially since the AI just seems... nonexistent.

  • Well was watching one stream last night...the guy doing it was rather happy with the story and the combat. But everyone in chat and him were saying that the eyes and mouths were terrible on the Ryder kids. I have to agree...it is rather...hilarious that no one at Bioware realized that those two and the character creation system needed shot and redone. I am hoping for a patch later down that does that...but I won't hold my breath on it.

Come on Bioware! You had a model to work off of. How did they let their designers mess up Sara Ryder so badly. I'm hoping the day one patch will fix some of the facial animation problems that i've seen but I don't think it will.

It sucks b/c I was so excited to play as Sara Ryder in ME:A but now based on the footage I've seen of her animations idk If i'll be able to take her seriously. Hoping that maybe I can create a Sara I'll be happy to play as, but now I hear that the character creation system is bad. Still trying to stay optimistic though.

  • The EA access trial people have been playing on XB1 and PC already had the day 1 patch, sadly. Looks like it could take a while. I mean, they'd probably have to redo nearly every body and facial animation, something people have mocked since the gameplay reveal.

They have way better tools now to make character models...but what happened? The Femshep default from ME:3 which I never used uses way fewer polys and meshes than Sara...but I know which one does not give me the creeps.

Luckily there will be modders who will work hard to make us forget this...and maybe EA will do something lol.

Except mods don't mean anything if you're playing on PS4. I think I'll be able to deal with the shitty CC, some people have made really attractive Ryders. What sucks the most (IMO) aside from just being able to tweak the presets is that there's no way to make your character pale, the lightest you can go is an olive shade. We can only hope there will be several patches later on.

Also I wish people would stop bringing up that shot of Sara as a criticism; it's old, and she looks much better in the recent footage. I'm not denying she looks nothing like her model though, and still has a bit of a derpy face.
