They Took Down My Videos

So I posted a let's play of the walking dead a new frontier episode 3 because I got to have it early, one thing I don't understand why you were able to take it down is:
- You have not made any public statements regarding the situation of episode 3 being released to users early
- You have not made anyone aware of the consequences of showcasing the episode that automatically downloads for them
- You have not removed the feature from the Xbox app
so why remove my walkthrough?

Because its not officially release yet?
so why havent they said not to upload it or why havent they taken it down from xbox?
Becuase its a big spoiler.
Because they dont have to, its there content and it hasnt been released yet
Because they have zero control over xbox live
Plus I'm sure that releasing a patch / fix on XBox / PSN is not free for them. For such a little percentage of players concerned, they'll probably just close their eyes for ten days and pretend nothing happened. Easier to do damage control with Youtube takedowns. TBF, I heard about the EP3 thing only here and I don't think big video games websites covered the issue.
Because it's not supposed to be posted before the official release of the episode?
Then just don't watch the videos lol
While they didn't say anything about uploading playthroughs of this episode, this is hardly a new policy. Let's Players of Minecraft: Story Mode uploaded early release videos when they weren't supposed to yet, so those players either took down the videos (or had them taken down) or set them to private until release day.
I wonder if big Youtubers like Pewdiepie know about Ep3 being released early and if they're already playing and recording it but waiting for March 28th to release it, so their videos won't get taken down..
Edit: Your profilepic fits well..
I don't think Pewdiepie cares enough for this series to be out there looking for early access, as to my knowledge he disliked Michonne Miniseries and wasn't impressed with S3. He can simply just play the episode when it comes out and no one would notice the change.
He loved S1, he didn't like S2 nor Michonne, in S3 he asked for Clem like the 1st hour, but he often said "I like it" in the end of an episode or in between, so yea, he does like S3, despite there's not that much Clem to play.
Also he was hyped for S3 and has this bond to TWD like most ppl do cause of S1..
Yeah, we all "like" S3, don't we? We just don't love it like S1.
Thumbnails and title could spoil it. Even if you did your Videos, without spoiling anything, Telltale's just wants to make sure, nothing gets out. Even though, spoilers got out via reddit.
Going by that logic no play through of any game should exist and Telltale are just trying to hide their mistakes
Well it does kinda contain spoilers and when a new frontier was released, I didn't get it until Christmas so there were a lot of spoilers there for me on my YouTube home page. Maybe that was why? If not then telltale might not want people to know what happens before it is released, which is understandable
IF they didn't want it to get out why was it available for download like ten days early? It seems like this is a pretty indefensible position for TT, and anyone who is backing them up. Then they take down peoples videos? Thats like cops asking people not to video police brutality. THey made the mistake don't penalize people who purchased it and used it.
This is exactly what happens when fuck ups occur that allow leaks over a week in advance. Telltale or whoever's fault it is needs to address this ASAP! if you have people uploading semi-unreleased content which can end up on people's recommendations, etc this causes problems for people who are unaware of the leaks or just on YouTube. This only proves that telltale if possible should release this episode ASAP.
The episode is available due to a mistake or a bug, it's unclear whether it is Telltale's fault or Microsoft's fault but the fact remains Telltale are well within their right to request thost video be removed as they own the copyright.
Once the episode releases they will allow people to post episode 3 content without restrictions.
That's easy to say but obviously it is released or the people wouldn't have the videos. And they didn't request it, they took down the videos of someone who purchased the product and simply downloaded what was offered to them. Its times like these I wish I didn't buy the season pass because now they can just do what they want and I'm stuck.
No I think he actually likes it
Wow luckily I saw it before it got taken down
If they're spoiling things with their thumbnail and title, than yes.
But it's only for a very small minority of people out. That's the difference. If it got leaked on every console, i would've just said: "fuck it. Put it out."
Wouldn't the videos fall under the fair use banner, which is meant to protect them against copyright strikes?
The people putting up Let's Play videos didn't sign any review embargo deal, so it seems more like Telltale are trying to cover up an error using poor tactics.
Let me guess the Episode was 1 hour long and mediocere
from what i can gather the episode is around 85 minutes with improvements from EP1&2. And i believe Clementine is playable for like 5 minutes.
Actually it was better than the older episodes. I would explain what happened but I don't feel like it.
so your logic is that if everyone were able to get it early they should release it early? That makes no sense. If ten people got it why are the rest of us still waiting? THe people who have it just downloaded through the network they didn't steal it or pass it out amongst themselves. So why are the rest of us still waiting? WHy was it up so early if its not ready?
that's not fair. I was completely unaware of the leaks and it downloaded automatically, my natural response was to record videos and I get a copyright strike (Of course when i uploaded them I was aware but I'm using this as an example)
It was an accident; we were not meant to consume it this early.
I understand you hate the game, but please stop spreading lies.
Pewdiepie said he REALLY enjoyed the game in his let's plays, whether he likes it more than S1/2 is up to Felix.
Just don't spread lies to advocate against Telltale every single post.
Can i ask why anyone cares if pewdiepie likes the game? is it that big of a game changer even he doesn't like it? i mean the dude plays hundreds of games and most likely forgets about each upon finishing it. Its silly people actually use whether or not pewdiepie likes the game as "validation" that its good or bad.
It's kinda what you get, mate.
There are maybe hundreds of people who have to wait the day of the game release and don't want that stuff floating around and spoiling their fun.
What? Are we gonna get e coli?
Really? THAT is your mindset?
You need to think; Walking Dead is a highly anticipated game. NOBODY wants spoilers before the episode is even released.
Get over it, sweetheart. It was a glitch or a bug. It happens.
Okay, THAT I can relate to. But, in the future, maybe DON'T start making videos right away, okay? Wait until the majority is starting to post videos.
Wait what? I dislike Telltale's way of handling things, I never said I hate the game. I'm angry with the company, but I'm still holding hopes for improvement. Only thing I did was to constructive criticize TT's idleness and lack of professionalism. I think it's understandable judging by everything that is going on right now. Never meant to "spread lies" or to "advocate".
I'm not the biggest fan of Pewdiepie, I occasionally watch his content. That's why I used the phrase "to my knowledge" because I'm not familiar with everything he says or does. I couldn't care less for what he likes or not.
Messaging is blocked for me so i'm going to put this here, yeah only about 5 minutes
Exactly. I don't care about whether he likes it or not.
False information is different however. I'd rather someone not spread lies (Whether he knew it or not) about how someone feels about something. Should it have been brought up? No, not really. Most don't care, but might as well bring it up with the CORRECT info.
