Story idea?
Before I start, let me make it clear that I know fuck all about making stories. The idea of this story is about immortality.
Yes, yes, I can hear the sighs and I know you want to click off to another discussion, but hear me out.
I've read a book about a guy who struggles at life, at the end of his story he becomes immortal and the story ends. He can't die, he got the girl, whatever, it's a happy ending.
..But what then? I'm the type of guy that wants to see what comes next after the happy endings.
The concept of immortality never really interested me, but when I started thinking about it more it became very interesting.
Imagine a man that was born a long time ago and was cursed, (or blessed depending on how you think about it.) with immortality.
He's pretty happy about being immortal, he can do lots of good with the ability of not being able to die, and never considering what can happen while being immortal. But it all slowly starts going downhill from there.
He does a lot of good in the world, but the bad never seems to end so he sees that there is no point in helping anymore seeing as how they will continue to happen regardless.
Then this man experiences everything in life..he watches their loved ones die, he watches his children die, he watches everyone he knows die, he watches new generations come and go..but he doesn't die with them.
He experiences new technology, he experiences many events that occured around the world, he has fought in many wars, he's seen everything and know what the world truly is.
He has been alive for thousands and thousands of years. At some point, this person is gonna wanna leave this world, but they can't.
No matter how many times he attempted to kill himself, but nothing happens.
No matter how many times he tries, he will never die. So, as a result he tries to stay away from as many people as possible, because he knows that if he starts a relationship with anyone, they will die at some point.
And as a result of all of this, he slowly goes insane.
I honestly believe this can make for a great novel or a movie. If you set this story during real life time periods and real life events, you get an amazing story and you get to see many real life events from a different point of view while at the same time watching him suffer.

I forgot, I read it in a library somewhere.
I think it was called a boat of a million years or something
If his body would age like the one of a mortal one, that would suck xd but forever like 20-30, why not? xd
Well, even if he goes insane, at one point he won't be anymore, cause he lives forever anyway, so might be not insane as well at one point at least.
Also, is he just bulletproof and how does he breathe if you stop air supply ? I mean the technical part is just illusion, else we would have immortality.. xd
