It's pretty fucking great so far. When I heard they were gonna make it darker and more mature, I was initially worried that they were gonna make it dark and edgy just for the hell of it. But the more mature elements blend into the story fairly well and it definitely makes me wanna go back and rewatch some of the older episodes.
Love it, its not what I was expecting.
Im not a fan of akus new voice he sounded a bit like a aged rabbi sometimes I wish they got a genuine japanese guy.

There are only 3 episodes of season 5 so far and its been written so newcomers can enjoy it so there is no need to catch up with seasons 1-4
I know I just really don't wanna be left behind in the story. Should I just watch season 5 now and catch up with past episodes later?

The new Aku voice is the same guy (Greg Baldwin) who replaced Mako from Avatar.. he did a pretty good job on impersonating his voice in the Avatar series so i'm sure you'll get used to it here
What are some key eps I should watch? I only just finished the scotsman episode.
I'm liking it so far. I can notice the slight difference in art style and voice acting, but it doesn't bother me in the slighteset. I think the new season is doing fine so far. Love the adult route their treading. Shows they want the show to grow up with the fans and it doesn't feel shoe horned or for shock value.
I'm watching the new season and catching up with the old episodes at the same time. Love it so much! The story got me hooked, the darker tones really fit and it's also great how they kept the animation style but made it more advanced.
I don't think the current voice actor is doing a bad job, but when I watched it I could definitely tell it wasn't the same from the original. I think Samurai Jack lost quite bit with is death.
