Indeed. Maybe it's because people are like "Oh she's Clem, I must do absolutely everything which earns her approval, no matter what it is."
I myself was concerned with Clem's eagerness to go with it and refused to kill Lingard. She has developed a dangerously one-track mind about AJ which has been demonstrated earlier too with her threatening to shoot Javier for wanting to open the door for David, his own brother, so that the walkers wouldn't kill him. At least then she had real animosity toward David but Lingard has never done anything to personally hurt Clem. Yet the information about AJ seemed to be enough for her to callously kill him, no matter he clearly wasn't in his right mind to ask for such a deal.
This isn't euthanasia. Lingard isn't terminally ill or otherwise beyond help. He has done this to himself in order to escape the harsh reality but is still unable to kill himself and asks for someone else to do it. It's not my Javier's place to decide, nor Clementine's. If Lingard TRULY wants to die, he can do it himself. I personally didn't want him to give up, I believe he's still capable of doing good, and judged by everything said it seems like he only needs motivation, a reason to care, to get back on his feet. There's been other characters like this before.
Does anyone know why there were no walkers when Ben took the hatchet and none busted through until Ben says he took the hatchet? I feel this was always overlooked.
I didn't drop him. In fact I played such a merciful and borderline saintly game it's actually kind of sickening. Clementine has become a shitbird all on her own. Your idea would explain a lot though.

I know, there is absolutely no way to defend what she does to him. I actually pittied the guy too, but thats besides the point. I replayed this scene earlier, picked all silent choices, and Clementine herself says "That's a pretty fucked up thing to ask someone to do" when Lingard first brings up killing him. Then she needlessly does it anyway. The writing is just terrible in this scene.

Yes, and it makes no difference to her if you try to keep her from being awful. She just gets pissy with you, then tries to do something even more fucked up in the next episode.
I seriously doubt she's ever going to say something like "Gee wizz Javi, thanks for reminding me that murdering people is bad. I'm gonna change my ways now." If anything she will probably be mad at you in the finale for not indulging in her bloodlust.
You realize she was apart of The New Frontier at that point and she was stealing medicine, for a dying baby, from her own group. She was doing what any mother would do: try and protect/save the life of her child at any cost.
I see your point with stealing the medicine, but saying it was the dumbest thing in the series so far is a huge over exaggeration, especially comparing it (and saying it was worse) to Ben leaving a defenseless 8-year-old girl to be devowered by walkers.
I dunno man, Clem trying to sneak into a heavily guarded outpost with a sick, dying, and perpetually noise-making toddler seems very high up… more there.
At least we can chalk Ben's ineptitude up to him being incredibly inexperienced at the time, but a survivor of 4 years? I don't think so.
She literally brought AJ along with her. A sick, discomforted toddler. You know what toddlers do when they're sick and discomforted don't you? They certainly don't stay quiet.
She brought so much more risk to an already pretty dumb plan with forcing AJ along. But then again, had she not, we as players wouldn't feel the emotional gut-punch that was them stealing AJ because... I don't know, someone's got to twirl their mustaches this season...

In The Walking Dead, every moral compass is killed one way or the other. It's dangerous to be an optimist 4 years into the Zombie Apocalypse for anyone. Clem has taken a "survival of the fittest" type of outlook on the world at this point. Sure, it's a brutal worldview, but it's also a realistic stance on the situation and the world she now knows. It's either kill or be killed in this new and terrifying world and Clem knows that.

None of this has anything to do with optimism, and you know that. Clementine's whole character was based around her being a "light in the darkness." If she willingly throws that away, what value does she have anymore?
She was never into that survival of the fittest shit, and quite frankly, she shouldn't be. She's an incompetent and reckless 13 year old girl, going by survival of the fittest, she should be dead. And I've already told you that the most fucked up shit she's done wasn't even for her survival anyway. I think we both know each others views on things at this point, so just leave it at that.

Ok, so I just checked my profile and this thread, and noticed that a bunch my and other peoples comments are missing. Is it some kind of error, or did someone delete them?
She could barely survive season 1, remember XD remember the number of times she was grabbed or surrounded by walkers but Lee or somebody else was there to save her? But she has lived in the apocalypse for 4 years now so she should be quite athletic and experienced in surviving.
I agree, 13 year olds brains aren't even fully developed yet. People like to talk about how badass she is and all that, but if the game was more realistic, she would never last in a world like that alone.
I don't think there is. That Rick Grimes user at the top of the thread says it's possible, but there's no proof. Someone is going to have to test it if people really want to know. I already tried but my save keeps corrupting. The ps4 version of s1 and s2 suck.
Rick Grimes is lying or is simply passing on a lie told by someone else. I've seen lots of muted playthroughs and ive attempted it myself(with various saves). She kills him everytime. No clip, no proof, just spoof. I had doubts that tellale would put something like that in the game based on a timer running out.

Thanks for confirming it. It did seem pretty unlikely that Telltale would make a choice that almost nobody made effect another choice that almost nobody made.

Yeah can this happen with story generator?
They went out for lunch and came back when they remembered it's in the school.

Nope. The guy was clearly out of it/not thinking properly, there's no way I would let Clementine do that.

Shiiiit. You did not just go there.
Is there a clip on YouTube of Clementine sparing Dr Lingard? Or is some guy just spoofing?
