I know people say to never believe the wiki but under trivia its been confirmed that Kate is returning as the actress who plays her had nearly finished her lines for TWD. It also states that whether she appears/speaks in physical appearance or just in a flashback is currently unknown.
In my opinion however, if Kate is dead then the choice regarding whether you want to be with her or not is completely pointless. Why have that choice then kill her off in the first few moments of the finale?
