That's so weird. I've just looked it up, she has voiced Claire since the beginning, whilst all the other RE voice actors have changed around alot, and then they change Claires VA NOW.
And her acting wasn't really that good in RE2 in my opinion, but atleast it fit-in with the other voice actors at the time, so...
I don't know if she's improved or not since then, since i don't really play any RE games anymore.

She wasn't Claire in the last game either, so I'm not really surprised.
It's still really weird knowing that she was a host of a Canadian children's show before RE2.

Haha this is complete bullshit. Alyson has been the voice of Claire for over a decade; this is not just disrespectful to her, but to the fans as well.
Well, I am definitely not purchasing this remake unless Capcom brings Alyson back and/or apologizes for disappointing their fans (again).
I know some people aren't that bothered about this, and I respect that. But, this is an enormous betrayal to me and others. They did replace Roger Craig Smith as well, so I shouldn't be surprised.
RIP Claire Redfield.
EDIT: Okay, from what I've recently heard, a localization company booted Alyson, not Capcom. So, I shift my blame.
But Revelations 2 was awesome.
I'm pretty bummed about Alyson not being Claire anymore (I've been a long time Claire fan since I was 7 so it'd be sad to hear Claire without her), but I'll probably still play ResE 2 HD regardless.

I'm sorry, but this is fucking annoying. It's like "Mark Hamill doesn't play the Joker in Arkham Origins? No buy". RE RV2 Claire's voice actor wasn't bad.
I edited my post after I learned that it was the localization company's fault. Capcom didn't just decide to replace her on the spot, they actually tried to fight for her; I recant my earlier statement.
It's not my favorite in the series, but it's definitely up there.

Well they changed quite a few iconic characters over the many years of resident evil's existance. Even in it's most recent game. It's not that big of a deal personally, but I hope she can find work elsewhere.
it's a personal thing. people grew up with claire and cared about her character, and not having her voice actor in any remake of the game she originated from doesn't feel the same. there is no "whining" going on here, just people who are genuinely upset, and with good reason, by the decision to kick alyson from the project.

Trash or not, there is no deny how amazing Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker did the voice-acting for Batman and Joker in Origins.

RE2make is gonna be bomb. I was pissed when I head she wasn't gonna do Revelations 2 but got over it. I always thought it was cool that she did the voice for RE2 and CV. But isn't really a surprise to me that they are gonna replace her. I bet D C Douglas is WEsker though.

Claire was only in RE2 and CV. It was a long time later that she was change for REvelations 2.
Resident Evil 7 was supposed to be like Resident Evil 6, you know.

characters were getting changed so they all might get different voice actors

cause if i recall wesker wasn't even in resident evil 2 unless it was just his voice that
was heard but if i recall he doesn't talk or have any appearance in 2 anyway
He wasn't in 2 at all(just as a mention), but that could change. He's a lot more popular now.

I'd be surprised if Wesker wasn't in RE2make. I know he wasn't in the original but they made him alot more into everything in CV and Zero. and he was originally dead at the end of RE. Plus he was at the mansion just out of town and probably couldn't resist getting just a little more combat data...
