Which Walking Dead game character had the absolute lamest death?

Of all three games including mini-series and DLC games, which character death did you think was utmost dumbest or even most preventable?

  • Nick's second death. It was so lazy and unforgivable to kill a character offscreen on a fence.

  • I thought that it seemed like a fitting death for Nick. Its easy to get snagged on something, doesn't usually matter much more then a hole in your clothes. But if you are running from a zombie and get hung up for even a second that could be all she wrote.

  • Also with no dialogue in the episode whatsoever.

  • Sarah's both deaths. I just can't stand them. Fuck Telltale

  • Definitely Nick in Amid the Ruins. Sarah's death was lame too, but she at the very least died on screen and had some dialogue during the episode.

  • Nick's in Amid the Ruins. Sarah's second death would be a close second, but I didn't hate her first death too much.

  • Ava for sure.

Chuck. At least Nick's was determinant, Chuck will always die off screen, forgotten, and ignored. 2nd place would be Ava's second death.

  • Ava's death was just a middle finger to anyone with a shred of hope for this season.

  • Ava. It actually made me laugh out loud because of how dumb it looked. And how pointless it was.

Nick's fence death, Sarah's deck death, and Kenny's car crash death were the only other ones I thought were poorly done. Chuck's could have been better, but I still thought it was okay.

  • A fitting death? How is being found dead on a fence fitting? Nick was a great character and deserved better.

Sarah's "canon" death. It will always be a low point for this series, but it lands here specifically due to how contrived it is and the obvious bias against her among the developers is ridiculous apparent due to the sheer amount of choices and the character development she had going into this episode meaning literally nothing.

Ava's second death is probably the closest to a second due to how ridiculously incidental and not at all appropriate it is, even if there is this mildly clever(or insulting/sexist) payoff if you tried to save Tripp on the first playthrough and then her on the second.

  • Is it a question? Obviously Ava's second death.
    "AVA NOOOOOOO!!!" "Alright let's go."

  • I see Jane's death wasn't there. But I mean, her death is always a good thing, AM I RIGHT!??!??!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

  • Her 2nd death. Her first death is passable and makes sense in terms of the story in all honesty.

  • Ava's death in From the Gallows. It felt so out of place. At least there was context for Tripp's that made it apparent he wasn't going to make it.

    I'm dECEASED

Her second death, since there are certain scenes that take her presence into account and play out with a key difference or two if you left her. I generally consider the latter death of a character in the story the canon one mostly because of that.

And it also just hammers in how terrible the developers/writers were about that that her canon death has the least amount of effort put into having it(and her presence as a fairly major character for several episodes) actually mean something and make sense in the context of the story.

  • Carlos was only killed so Sarah could flip her shit and get herself killed. gg telltale

  • Ava and Tripp

  • Ava. I thought Nick and Sarah's couldn't be topped but I was wrong.

  • Ava or Nick.

There's plenty of characters with dumb deaths, but those 2 were the worst.

  • Chuck (Season 1)

Nick, Sarah, Rebecca and Luke (Season 2)

    AND ESPECIALLY

    Jane (ANF)

  • The most lackluster death ever lmao

  • Ava's death. It was just pure bullshit, honestly. It felt like Telltale really wanted to find an excuse to get rid of that character, so they picked the worst way possible for her to die.

Ya know in spite of it being awfully handled.. sometime I think it was perhaps purposely done for a bit of a comedic relief effect. I think I had to chuckle over what happened to her after warning Javier to be more careful. But then the other character's reactions to what happened to her were laughable too, because Clementine and especially David could of said more in respects to her since they knew her better than the rest would.

  • I'm gonna say Kenny's ANF death. Most anticlimatic, unfair and awfully written death for such a legendary character within the franchise.

  • At least he died honorably by distracting the walkers and letting the children escape. Can't say the same for stupid fucking Jane.

  • Even if it was honorable, it was still forced and not the death any Kenny fan would've written for him. He deserved way better.

  • Honestly, I was kind of expecting/hoping she'd get a scene like that and he'd get something different in more ways than one.

  • Kenny ending wasn't ideal but it was very emotional and the best/longest flashback.

Jane ending made me laugh, celebrate, and say "I told you so" when I found out what she did.

  • Nick and Sarah's until Ava's death came along. That death actually made me laugh in confusion.

  • That's just ... so mean, though.

Just because you prefer one character, doesn't mean you have to laugh about the fact that another person's favorite character was written off in a really insulting way. That just seems really mean spirited, to me. Not saying that I found either death good, but laughing at someone's favorite character getting killed off badly just comes across as kind of narrow minded, at least from my point of view. Not trying to be harsh, I just dunno the right words to describe this.

I'd also like to point out that, on your subreddit r/TeamKenny, you said that Kenny fans always, and I quote the thread 'Why I say F--k team Jane', "calmly defend Kenny and rationally explain why Jane ended up being the worst guardian for Clem", and that Jane fans - again, I quote the linked thread - "always resort to personal insults and attacks", but aren't you doing the same thing? I mean, I'm just looking at some of the comments you've made in this thread:

"Can't say the same for stupid fucking Jane."

"Jane ending made me laugh, celebrate, and say "I told you so" when I found out what she did."

And on the Reddit thing I linked, there are some comments which contradict what you said about Kenny fans:

u/trevor_phillips - Her supporters are either fucked up like her too or they're just plain stupid.

u/trevor_phillips - I hope Jane gets fucked up by Carver, Andy. St. John and the Governor in the afterlife.

What's rational about these arguments against Jane? How are these not ad hominem attacks? :o

I'm not trying to be mean, you can like and dislike whoever you want, of course, I just don't understand. I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer - okay, yea, maybe a little bit of a Debbie Downer - but you're kinda being a bit hypocritical. Which is a bit disappointing, to me, because I remember when we first chatted on these forums, about how I'd help my dad play Telltale games, and you were super nice back then ._.

Sorry if this comes across as me being mean, I'm just trying to understand the rationale behind what's being said.

Kenny ending wasn't ideal but it was very emotional and the best/longest flashback. Jane ending made me laugh, celebrate, and say "I told you so" when I found out what she did.

  • I kinda liked Nick's second death. It was a clumsy death for a clumsy guy.
