Previously on...

Why isn't that in ANF? Or Minecraft? I hope it remains, like in TWD S2.

  • It has to. Otherwise new players will be completely lost as to what is happening.

  • Well, in ANF, the story mostly focuses on Javier, and it wouldn't make much sense if it showed Clem's backstory just before his story begins. Plus, Clem's legacy's involvement in the story was pretty minor, so having an entire "previously on.." segment wouldn't be worth it.
Also, since the newcomers would most likely start a fresh story with the "alone ending" I'm sure they'd be pretty confused if they saw that when starting the game.

As for minecraft, I'm not so sure as I haven't played it, but I can only assume it's because S2 didn't need it as it didn't continue off of a jarring point in S1. It started a fresh story, with small involvement from previous events.

I think we'll see a previously on segmwnt for EP1 of Batman, but I'm not so sure myself... We'll see.

  • That is exactly why ANF was so bad. I do not wish for Batman to go down the same road - otherwise it's definitely the last thing I am buying from Telltale if this trend goes on.

  • I don't think that's why ANF was bad, I just blame it on the un-original plot and inconsistent, underwhelming writing.
