Oh, okay. I thought you meant specifically from Javier's perspective, as well as an actual choice to explicitly join rather than just gettin some dindin.
Exactly, I would have considered his plan if he didn't hold Gabe hostage, because it really wasn't a bad plan. But the second he held a gun to Gabe's head was when I realized that he was too mentally unstable and had to go.
Even if Telltale brought back Lee, Kenny, Omid etc. and writes the greatest episode of all time for those who didn't kill Conrad.. I don't c… moreare. Conrad was a garbage person and a danger to everyone, including himself. Javi had no reason to trust this emotionally unstable guy but he had reason to trust Clem who saved his life multiple times by that time. And then there's Gabe taken hostage. No. Conrad needed to go and nothing in the world can make me replay and change it.
They were probably expecting us, the players, to identify with Javier at the spiritual level and act rationally - hostile towards some random teenage girl we just met, definitely not openly trust her. I mean they counted on Javier's realistic action, but at the same time they've kinda forgotten they had brought back Clementine, a little one we know and love, and almost everyone making that choice (betraying Clem) would be totally biased, as people would do everything they could to get Clem more screentime.
Honestly, people with alive Conrad are either on their second playthrough or just individuals who couldn't straight up shoot a man or truly believed in his logic. Also people disliking Clementine, those have got their reasons. What are the stats exactly? 80% something to the 15% or so? If keeping Conrad alive it's all they did to improve character development, it is not how it's done.
I'm not trying to discourage you TT, but it's only gonna work if we agree to replay the episode purposely, just to change stats to 50/50 and wish to be granted with a different outcome. That's how you divide your choices into bad and good, canon and non-canon. That's how you get players to go "Oh shit, why did I do that? Now I'm gonna miss something!" It's bad, and the worse thing is, there's no rewind option to fast-forward through the episode.
Sorry, bit late getting back here. I'm not saying you can't justify your actions, but you're acting as though there are objectively correct decisions, when the majority of the series is based on subjective choices. Of course there's reasoning for choosing either, but killing the St Johns is probably the closest we've got to a black and white decision, despite their intentions and actions that night. Either way, the groups actions result in completely ruining them and leaving them broken and to their fate at the hands of the horde. You directly or indirectly cause the deaths of the people who were going to kill and eat you.
I didn't say that all of them apply, though my logic still applies 78% here.
So who was the right person to save, as far as being good… more is concerned, Carly or Doug?
Technically Carley, as saving her proves you're willing to keep someone around who could reveal your past rather take advantage of the situation to deal with that loose end.
Was it right to kill the St Johns, or more morally good leave them broken to be killed by the herd?
Leave them, as Clementine and Lilly are both observing and judging you for doing so otherwise. Not to mention that though the St John's themselves have more than crossed the line, it's better to just leave defeated than just up and kill them; I see what you're getting at though.
Was it right to shoot Duck, or morally good to leave him to turn?
Shoot him, as the boy has already suffered long enough because his dad (and later his mom) couldn't go through with it themselves … [view original content]
When I checked earlier this week 89.5% of people shot Conrad. What gets me is that they either couldn't have been counting on people identifying with Javier, or they're just not taking ingame or vocal fan feedback into account. This stat has been around 90% since the game released. It's been over 3 months since the last episode, with all the rewrites we hear about them doing in their games, they decided the best course of action was to give the majority of players a stripped down version of episode 3, unless they replay an entire episode and help TTs stats look more divided?
That's both insane and completely disconnected from the audience, all at once.

I think they are trying to show us that 'choices matter' in such blind and chaotic way, despite what they said about forums being a minority, they can still sense the crisis approaching them, that's why all rewrites and chaos struck them mid-season.

Now I have to replay TFB. Any added context is good. Quick question, who is Conrads voice actor? He sounded so familiar, I almost did'nt shoot him. If he is voiced by Lee's voice actor.....sorry I shot you...twice!
Yeah because why on earth would players side with a crazy guy holding a kid hostage over a beloved character that we have developed over the last several years?
We shouldn't have to take our favorite character prisoner just for her to have more screentime. We shouldn't have even been pitted against Clem when Javi barely had any decent development. This choice and the gung go attitude Telltale is taking towards it is irrational.
Not only for more screentime. Killing armed man who has a hostage is simple in films only. I wouldn't take a risk. Other choice opens more possibillities. And my Javi's won't always be Clem's bitch.

Its about time they Made a good Determinant character ever Since the Carley Or doug Choice they havent done Determinant characters Justice shame it was a Character that almost no one saved.

i Kept him alive since episodes 1 and 2 came out because i usually Keep determinant Characters alive when they re Not complete Psychopaths ((Randall was the only exception to me not killing determinant characters.))

lol feel bad for the other 90% who killed Conrad,I loved seeing a determinant character getting spotlight like this.
"No,you're not a man.... You're nothing."
If you let him execute Badger, you'll get chills!
It would make sense to do that for a controversial choice that has a 50/50 split.
It does not, however, make sense to significantly flesh… more out a route that only ~10% of players took.
I also feel sort of cheated because Conrad was an awesome character but my hand was forced once they pitted him against Clementine.
Trolltale be trolling .
The one time they make a Determinant character interesting it was the character 90% of people Killed and with No rewind ability.
Not sure how far you are into the game as of this post, but aside from that other replies citation(which I didn't know about), she doesn't treat you differently at all.
Honestly, that is one of the few legit criticisms I have against Above the Law.

The problem is, this is more than a case of the majority of players siding with Clem. Conrad might have an acceptable reason for completely losing it - he just lost someone he loved, after all - but he comes across as a raving lunatic in the subway. Pressing a gun to a boy's head is NOT the best way to endear a character to players. Making matters worse, Telltale goes out of their way to "punish" players for choosing Clem by having Tripp and Eleanor lose their shit after Gabe spills the beans, alienating us from three characters simultaneously. The whole season is full of choices that feel rushed and poorly planned out.
Playing ANF is like being trapped inside the St. John's meat locker for an entire season, except there are a dozen clones of Larry inside with you, and you don't get to use any salt licks.

Kill Conrad and let girl go. Complain there's not enough Clem in the game.
Turns out they Made Conrad a Double Determinant Character meaning he can either die or survive episode 3.
Now I have to replay TFB. Any added context is good. Quick question, who is Conrads voice actor? He sounded so familiar, I almost did'nt shoot him. If he is voiced by Lee's voice actor.....sorry I shot you...twice!

I... This makes sense. Still though
Conrad Avenges Francine
Well then looks like Telltale actually put effort into Conrad.
Yeah I definitely got to give Telltale credit for him he's not like other detriment characters who do nothing he doesn't actually feel detriment.

He definitely isn't. We all know how Fennoy sounds like.

THAT SCENE WAS FUCKING AWESOME AND THE WHOLE DETERMINANT THING TOO
Alternate playthroughs? Ring any bells?
Still dont regret shooting him
we get it dude we get it that you re one of those people who dont Like redoing Choices so stop posting that in every thread that mentions Conrad.
To be fair, he doesn't post that often from what I've seen. Relatively blunt comments on topics he can comment on is his thing.
Sorry its just that i ve seen him commenting on Conrad quite a lot recently so i was a bit annoyed about that .
Replay the game to change an end choice when rewind doesn't exist?
I don't regret it but not for that reason. Myself and others simply don't regret our choice. If I did I'd just go back.
Trolltale be trolling .

So how does Clementine treat you later if you went with Conrad's plan? I'm very torn about this choice.
Like it didn't even happen. She'll still trust Javier, which is very stupid.
In Ep.5, she can say to Javi "You gave me up to Conrad...so you owe me."
Yikes. I don't like that. Maybe I should just go with my instincts in that situation.
You should. The story doesn't change at all if you shoot Conrad or not.
Thanks for your help. Now to wait for the next sale so I can buy the game.

Well, I haven't gotten the game yet. I only know through walkthrough videos on YouTube.
Are you really that insecure you care about what a 13 year old girl thinks of you?
Just stuff it. Show some fucking respect.
