I can't predict their next movements but I pray for a direct continuation of the story and not a fucking time skip,that's too lazy even for them...

This might be nothing, but when you go onto www.telltale.com (the main page) the first thing that is shown on the page is an ad to play Game of Thrones, see for yourself. This could possibly be them trying to get more people to buy the game before season 2 is announced.
tbh I think it's simply related to the TV show being on air right now, which would probably boost sales a little, especially if you give potential buyers an appetizer in the form of a free episode. And I think the reason they're promoting the game with Season 7 is that the show is coming to an end. I hope it's related to Season 2 of the game, but I doubt it. Like someone else said on here already, I'm pretty sure that Bruner saying Season 2 is in development was hasty and a mistake that Telltale simply can't be bothered to correct - we all know it wouldn't be the first time.

I finally finished season 1. It was great I really felt connected to the characters and actually strongly hated some characters not in a this is a bad guy and he needs to be killed to move the plot but in a I really hate this guy and I want to kill him no matter what. No, the first episode being free has been announced since 2015. And every Telltale game has a free first episode. As for season 7, we'll have to see if the ad continues to stay there post season 7.

I don't really think the promotions are directly related to ss2 of the game but I do think it confirms that there will be an eventual ss2 as if not and telltale for some reason did reconsider they would have to inform people but the fact that they are promoting season 1 shows they haven't forgotten about it as if they were not going to create another season they would just completely get rid of meantions of the game

To be fair, GoT section has been above TftB section since GoT's first episode. I wouldn't really look too much into it.
