Sorry guys, still thought the premier was really bad.
I guess this was a matter of personal preference. I definitely preferred the dark psychological story of Harvey, the childhood drama of Oz and the romance with Selina. It just felt more appropriate for a M-rated game.
Now this? It just feels like 'just another Batman story'. It just isn't going to be something I remember in the long run.
Other than the unnecessary gore, it just felt like a PG-13 movie I'm just gonna forget in a week.

Not to mention comedic relief is completely gone. That cartoonish cliche fight with Riddler was the most laughably comedic relief.
Bruce: cut myself shaving
Harvey: didn't you butler help you this time?
stares
Harvey: kidding, kidding.
It's a shame this game has such a linear story and it's leap and bounds worse than the first season. It's a M-rated game already, nothing is holding them back. Just bad writers.
Well considering how hard you were trying to shit on this game even before release, it's not surprising at all that you actually think this is somehow worse.
I was not. Just pissed Telltale said it was suitable for newcomers. Now that it's resolved...
Suit yourself. This game is already better than TWD A New Frontier.
And? FUCK THE NEWCOMERS. It's what made A New Frontier one of Telltale's worst seasons.
In it's defense, Batman is not a comedy but even then, there were at least a couple of things I've seen people laugh at (although it was often the delivery of a line lol) I do somewhat agree with the Riddler fight, it was a bit too comical but then again, most forms of entertainment relating to Superheroes often are... I mean, people with super strength somehow not killing the normal thugs they fight etc.
I don't think most people would agree with you there, most likely due to the fact that we only know a fifth of the actual story and we've seen it's not entirely linear, but story-wise you're opinions are yours so I won't argue with you, but I'd like to know why you think the story is bad and worse than the first season thus far?
Those were good story-lines but I'd argue heavily on the part of Oswald. His story in season one was rather bland and personally I found Victoria Arkham's story to be far more interesting and sympathetic. Oswald felt like a generic villain to me, they didn't elaborate enough on Bruce's relationship with him to make it as effective as Harvey's downfall in my opinion. As for Harvey and Selina, remember that we didn't really get any of that until episode 3 onwards (with some foreshadowing in episode 2).
Yes, you were. No matter what new piece of information was released, you found a way to make it look bad. The newcomer issue should be resolved by now, right? It's obvious that this isn't as bad as ANF, a lot of the choices made in Season 1 were mentioned already in Episode 1.
You went into this game with a negative attitude and went out with one, not at all surprising. If you constantly tell yourself and others how much something sucks, then you have pretty much made your mind up already and won't even give the thing a chance, as evidenced here.
Cool. Later sk8er.
This is without question the best Telltalle episode in awhile. Got me slightly nostalgic of when every episode wasn't beatable in like 90 minutes. This one had some bulk to it. Even appeared to have options to go entirely different areas.
I've crapped on TT since 2016 and I completely disagree with most of what they've done involving TWD as well as releasing new series instead of continuing ones THEIR fans want. But I give credit where credit is due.
If they match these episodes and 2-5 are as good as ep1 this will be one of the best seasons of any game they've done.
There's only one episode out and you're already acting like Season 2 just ended.
Well, for one thing: This season is probably going to be darker than the last. And, I don't really expect to see comedy in some Batman story. Sure, it's ok if it's there, but sometimes it doesn't fit. A Batman story doesn't guarantee Comedy. If you want that, go look at 60s Batman. Considering in this episode we've got a PTSD-prone Alfred, lethal and gory Riddler, a menacing Agency, and the death of a friend, I see no reason to include jokes, and I'm glad there wasn't. This is all new stuff with Batman lore Telltale keeps twisting, and that's just what makes it interesting.
Secondly, this is only the first episode.. it's not like this was the whole season. We've still got 4 more episodes to get through, and that's a lot more time to develop characters and story threads.
Thirdly, I now realise that John Doe is going to be playing an interesting part in this season. He'll obviously be the morbid comic relief in this season, whenever he makes the wrong joke at the wrong time kind of thing (as evidenced by him cracking jokes at the funeral). He'll be around, and he'll be providing some psychological drama for us later down the line, as he is clearly a normal man, who's just really broken.
Lastly, I'm sorry, but I'm not surprised that you dislike this (or even hate this). You've been providing so many excuses to why Telltale's recent games suck and have been since ANF, when a. I doubt you've played them for yourself (but I could be wrong), and b. in hindsight many of those titles are big improvements. Guardians has lots of choices that branch out quite a bit, it also has big hubs with lots of things to look at. Minecraft has lots of optional activities in hubs that only enhance the experience of the story, and so far the premiere is a pretty long episode.
Given that you just can't seem to stop finding ways to make Tellale's newest games seem like the worst thing since Jurassic Park, and you were actually shaming this game too before it's release... I'm not surprised.
I just hope for your sake this season proves you wrong in how Telltale has improved since ANF.
We get it, you didn't like ANF.
k.
I get it, you know I don't like ANF.
I get it I know you know that he knows you don't like anf
Batman season 1 episode 1 wasn't even as half as good as s2e1 and the good things you mentioned weren't in the beginning of the first game.
I completely disagree with your opinion.
^^^^^^^^
Random gets it.
Why do you always attack AronDracula, can't you just not leave him alone?
[removed]
Nope.
This is the worst hobby for you.
The only thing I disliked was how Riddler was killed. Whoever did that had a clear shot at Batman and would make a lot more sense to kill him instead.
When you're 1 two hour episode in and it mentions almost everything from Season 1, and feels like a true direct sequel, but Harvey and Oz havent shown up yet, and neither has Selina who is already confirmed to return, so it feels just like another Batman story as it kills off main characters that are established in every Batman story
I mean, they might need Batman alive for their plan?
If you didn't like it then don't bother with the rest of the episodes of this season. I honestly can't begin to comprehend how anyone could dislike that episode unless the entire genre was an issue, but I will respect your opinion.
Riddle me this......I am broken yet in one piece. I disrespect yet play as it release. I criticise before it's complete. Who am I??
I think his suit can protect him from a dart, remember that Bruce is wearing a new and improved armor made by Lucius, it's bullet-proof and heat-resistant.
"just another Batman story"
Yeah, only one where Alfred is suffering from PTSD, Lucius [spoilers], Joker wants you to "meet his friends", Riddler is taken out in the first episode (meaning there's a bigger threat you'll have to deal with), Waller knows you're Batman, and Gordon potentially ends your working relationship--all in the span of the FIRST episode.
It seems like people go out of their way to hate on Telltale. Can we wait until all 5 episodes come out before we go "this sucks"?
Ohhh saucy....
What can you do...not everyone is going to like a story...no matter how well crafted.
lmao @ your name
That really depends on who it was that killed him, doesn't it?
k
