  • I would say Mariana was an exception in the universe of ANF characters, including Javier (although this one was poorly developed due to the rush this season was).

Ok i have one question, it's too late but... in the episode "Ties that bind_part 2" when Max, Badger and the New Frontier attacked Prescott, the only ones ready to defend the place and fight were Tripp, Conrad, Javier and Clementine, only 4 people (Francine was a hostage so she doesnt count) but what about the rest of the people who lived there? what were they doing? hiding? Clementine wasnt even a member of that community and she still fought for them, Javier too but he did it to protect his family. Where were all the residents of the place when they were needed? they should've been in the walls with guns.

  • In what capacity? How did you see it playing out?

I thought that it was likely we would see all of them in Season 2 somehow.

  • Good question....

I can only assume it was because Badger's crew suddenly drove up, with Tripp being the guard, Conrad was already at the gate, Javier seeing them coming in the distance, and with Clementine determinantly getting there a minute beforehand.

  • Still doesnt make sense, there were several adults living there and they were nowhere to be seen when the New Frontier arrived and started threatening to kill Francine. What if Javier and Clementine wouldnt have been there? Conrad and Tripp probably must've been the only guardians of the place. Even when Javier arrived for the first time, the only one shooting to repel the walkers was Tripp.
I'm surprised those people survived that long, i'm starting to believe that the people of Prescott existed just to be casualties.

Quite possibly. But that's how storytelling goes sometimes: they wanted to make Tripp seem like a capable, reliable guy, so they had only him guarding and sheriffing the settlement.

Though it is worth noting that walkers aren't that big of a threat against those gates since they're exclusively close combat and an unused voice line further supports that the New Frontier coming to Prescott the way they did, even if it was with a equivocal warrant, was unprecedented.

  • I dont think Prescott had a large population to begin with. Conrad and Tripp might have just been the best they had.

TWD Season 4 or The Last of Us 2?

  • Neither.

The Last of Us 2 simply because it's going to be a better game.

  • How so? You don't have a PS4?

  • Definitely. Last of Us 2 is already better than both S2 AND ANF, and we haven't even seen any gameplay yet!

  • Well, that(though my brother has one) and I'm not really looking forward to either for different reasons.

  • Can someone with access to the game files give me the 3d model for Kennys hat?

  • enter image description here
Was this intended to be Anita Garcia?

  • I always thought it was David's first wife, but this is Kate's beta model.

  • That's the obvious conclusion at face value, but remember that Mariana was written as Gabe's cousin and Anita & Hector's daughter. So I can't help but assume that may have been meant to be her at one point..

  • Pretty much. Grace made it far enough in development to appear in an early version of the Ties That Bind Part 1 menu card(which I reposted today), but was reworked into Kate long before the game began officially marketing.

Grace's full model(which is in a fairly recent unused content video) was very likely reused as Huh-Chick and/or was possibly remodeled into Shades-Chick, who much like The Specialist has a noticeably detailed and well-animated(for what little was used) model compared to other NPCs.

  • Is this the ending you got? I agree with you btw, that ending felt like the most appropriate in every way.

    DabigRG posted: »

Eh, personally the ending(s) where Gabe puts down David seems the most appropriate to me. But ultimately, it will depend on what they actually do.

  • I want everyone's honest opinion... what happened after David drove off with Yaya? Did he put her down or leave her as a muerto?

  • Knowing him, he probably smacked the shit out of her walker when she tried to attack him.

  • Considering one variation of what was originally planned, do you think it was possible that Lonnie/Javier's gunshot would've ended up killing Mariana?

Dumb question: Do you think the Ava or Tripp choice would've worked as well if it was played straight?

  • As in her getting shot in the neck? Definitely. By the time they would've reached Prescott, she would've choked on her own blood.

    Javier's gunshot

Wait...why would Javier shoot his own niece?

  • In one early version of the story, Javier and Clementine were supposed to find Marianna's walker--oh, I'm sorry, muerto--in the junkyard, presumably after they got back from Prescott. Considering another cut plot point had Javier/Lonnie fire the gun in the struggle and critically injure Lonnie, I was wondering if it's possible that these two points were related and Mariana inadvertently ended up kinda like Nick.

  • Oh like if she didn't kill the opposite person? Honestly the group would have been a lot stronger. Ava and David would have been grateful to Javi and solidified their alliance with him, while successfully saving Tripp would have made him quicker to forgive Javi for the Conrad fiasco.

Personally tried to save Ava because I thought she would have been great with kids, the perfect soldier opposite to David's sternness.

I meant mostly from an out of universe perspective, but that's some very good observations.

    David's sternness.

I seriously had to look that up before I said anything smart and that is actually accurate.
