You dont have to like or dislike Pewdiepie to understand the fact that his voice reaches millions of people. So, regardless if he is right or wrong (personally I agree with what he said) this will be a major blow to Telltale's image as a video game company.
Its the reason I'm not looking forward to TWD S4 or TWAU S2. There is no indication or any reason at all to assume that these games will be good. And to those who say "the new games look promising" Minecraft S2's story is very predictable, Batman S2 only has one episode out and usually the first episodes are always good and Guardians of the Galaxy's story is not very original and also predictable. Of course this is just my opinion, which is based on past and present aspects/behavior of the company.
He played ANF and he mostly hated it (many people did). GoT is also one of their weak games. I don't think he is interested in Batman or Minecraft games, so he doesn't even know if they are good or bad.
I have to say, ANF made me very disappointed too. I still play other Telltale games because they are alright (new Batman Season is amazing), but I kinda understand what he means.
Eh, not an uncommon opinion. Never really cared for his videos, though I did watch a few some years ago. Just through other YouTuber's who have spoken about him, he seems like a decent guy. I think I was on the brink of being like this towards Telltale, but it seems as though (and I don't want to speak too soon) but I feel like they've come out of it. 2016 was a rough year for them for the most part, but the Enemy Within premiere has given me some hope.
WTF do I care what all those attention whores on YouTube or whatever on the internet are saying. What counts is if we like their games or not, and I for one totally love them. All what the Floggers do is complain/comment on other peoples' work and never actually accomplish anything by themselves. If you are disappointed in a game then just get over it and try something new, but don't go bitching about like you're the authority in knowing it all.

Yeah I agree, this was 1 min during a 3 hour live stream of a game not even related to Telltale, so its not like him saying this is going to really affect Telltale that bad anymore.
I do agree with what he said though that Telltale doesnt make games as good as they used to, but like I said, this is 1 min in a 3 hour live stream of something unimportant so Telltale doesnt really need to worry someone like Pewdiepie said they make shit games now. If he made a whole video talking about how he was disappointed with Telltale making games not as good as they used to, then Telltale would have to worry about something. (However Telltale has been taking steps in the right direction now, but if a huge youtube like pewdiepie did make a whole video calling them out, I wonder if Telltales quality would go back to the glory days.)
People have the right to complain, and voice their opinion. Not everyone likes to "get over it". "Getting over it" and keeping everything to yourself is boring, complaining and discussing things is fun. Plus he was just answering a direct question from the chat while he was streaming. It's not like he was ranting.

I disagree, people are always talking about how "2012 Pewdiepie was better", but honestly, I think the content he is putting out these days is more entertaining then ever, there is so many channels that just makes generic gameplay videos, but Pewdiepie has changed to not be much about games anymore, and frankly, I think its alot more enjoyable than what he did back in the day
He plays games HE enjoys, there is a reason he doesnt play the shitty indie games anymore, he has stated as much himself if I recall, his channel used to be a onetrick thing after he got big on Amnesia, so he played all the horror games he could find, while overreacting and shouting profanity, because thats what he thought people found funny at the time, then when he ran out of horror games, he started playing stuff like happy wheels, I actually really enjoy the content he puts out now, occasional gaming videos, which I find much more entertaining than years ago, because he actually enjoy it, and the random stuff he makes otherwise, gaming channels are a dime a dozen these days, so I dont mind him branching out
If I recall he has actually talked about that on some of his videos where he watch his old stuff, that its what he thought people found funny back then, he got a big boost from Amnesia, so he started doing as much horror as he could, screaming and whatnot, then when he ran out of horror, he transitioned it into profanity and shouting in Happy Wheels, I think he finds the screeching he did back then just as shitty these days as you do (dont take any of this as facts, this is just my interpretation/what I seem to remember him saying in some videos)
If he's a pioneer of the whole video game playthrough thing, then I guess that makes sense as to how he got so many subscribers, but I personally found his screeching to be irritating.
You should care, alot of Telltales popularity came from those so called "attention whores on youtube", TWD season 1 was huge on youtube back in the day, and a bunch of high profile youtubers such as Pewdiepie and Cry, you should not underestimate that alot of Telltales success came from youtubers

Im sure he's played enough games over his life to make a informed decision and no game is going to appeal to everyone.
Its his right to call a game shit just like people in this thread have a right to call his channel shit but I hate the double standards people are showing in calling him shit and wrong at the same time.
Get over yourselves your not more entitled to a opinion then anybody else if you have the right to call shit so does pewdiepie he's human too and entitled to his opinions.
I think you misunderstood something, I agree and love Pewdiepie. I just thought it was really important because he is the most known/popular gamer out there and I have never heard him talk like this about a game before.

I think you are giving him way too much credit. You assume that people are going to suddenly hate on Telltale just because this popular youtuber doesn't like their products, and said it in a throwaway sentence. Thats not really how that works

Of course people aren't going to suddenly hate telltale. I dont how you drew that conclusion from what I said. I said it was going to be damaging to their image as a gaming company. Of all the people who watched that video, many who which idolize pewdiepie, not all obviously (especially not myself), and heard the minute long rant (clearly not a throwaway sentence if you watched the video), regardless if they agree or not, next time they consider buying a telltale game its likely they'll remember "oh yeah I heard once their games were shitty and that their quality has dropped". The impact of this is unknown but the idea has already been put in everyone's head who listened to rant.

Hence why I said that you are giving him too much credit if you think that he can damage the image of a gaming company, just by saying that he doesn't care for their games anymore. The only way that is happening is if Pewdiepie reveals of something shitty the company has done towards him, other than that, the impact of his words will be minimal at best.

But he does take storylines seriously? He just doesnt play as much anymore, he was pretty serious about A New Frontier, even though he didnt like it, Pewdiepie back then was the guy who didnt read notes in Amnesia and so on, all while screaming his head of, but as you said, opinions
He still screams his head off though, in fact, possibly more than ever. You say he still takes story-lines seriously but most of the time he's cracking jokes and not paying much attention to plot points (considering he sometimes questions what has already been answered in the same episode), but hey, I'm not saying that makes him a bad person or gamer, he's only human, I just don't like the turn he took with weirder and more melodramatic videos, I still like him and greatly respect him as a person, I'm still subbed and defend him much like you do but I just don't enjoy his content anymore, but I still remember him as the guy who made videos that made me feel happy during my lowest point in life with his 'Fridays with Pewdiepie' videos. He's still very much the same person, but I just don't like most of his newer content.

Thats not really far-fetched. Youtubers can end businesses pretty quickly. Idubbbzz has a series called "Kickstarter crap." Its considered a death sentence for business owners.
Another example: A popular news outlet called pewdiepie out for being "racist," and... he got fired from Disney. Even though the video was obviously satirical, all it took was one popular outlet to call him out.
I said it was going to be damaging to their image as a gaming company.

I would appreciate this trend of not naming videos of what they are about doesn't spread to Youtubers I actually like to watch regularly.
That said, I doubt this hurts Telltale Games all that much. It has been shown many times that personalities like PewDiePie don't actually have that big impact to sales (these are claims anyway.)
Those are not good examples because the contexts are different, they're not similar to someone popular simply stating " i don't like their games anymore".

So, yah. I'm just saying.
Odd that companies still sponsor big youtubers to make videos, then, if they're not really expecting any impact, then. I know at least one was getting ANF ahead of release to do his videos. Maybe companies just care about certain video creators, then.

Huh. I honestly don't watch his videos, saw one of them a while ago but his screeching voice irritated my ears to no end.
Do remember some of his fans here talking about how great ANF is because pieguy loved the first episode so the majority of gamers do too. This post peaked my curiosity, decided to watch the last 5 minutes of his episode 5 play through. Sounded a lot like most of the people who were disappointed with the game here.
The contexts are different, of course. But you said that a popular Youtuber doesn't have the power to ruin a company just by saying some nasty words but that isn't necessarily true. The examples I gave you were to add to my point.

Can't blame him though. Very few people actually play games they don't like and enjoy.

This why love this community we had great experiences with telltale games but we can be honest as well
The games quality has dropped and only way telltale will change is if they listen to fans and we are honest about the games faults
I respect pews for saying this because his voice might make telltale listen
I think his right but also think telltale games can be redeemed and become better games then they ever been
They have bigger budgets and profit then ever before
They can make top quality game if they just listen

The whole thing is being blown out of proportion, he wasn't even mad and only brought it up because he was asked.
Im not a huge fan of him but he the most accomplished youtuber so...

He's just a guy, but ok. Some people just don't like TTG, personal taste.
Where in the video does he actually say that he's done with Telltale?
Welp, opinions. I just preferred when he took story-lines seriously and when his reactions felt more genuine and excitable.
Well, he's not wrong, as "video games" TT's modern games are remarkably shitty, but as visual novels, they're A-Okay...sometimes.
Well, I have never been a fan of PewDiePie* and if that is his opinion of Telltale then I cannot see myself subscribing to him anytime soon!
*I mean no hate. If people like him thats great! His just... not for me.
Thanks. I was too lazy to watch that stream all the way through.
