You know, if you completely forget that that after credits scene exists, the ending of Tales of Monkey Island was a pretty good end to the series, as it wraps up everything nicely. I would certainly like another game, but seeing as we'll probably never get another game (I actually talked to Guybrush's voice actor and he confirmed he's completely out of the loop if there is anything) the ending to Tales is probably the best we're going to get. It would be best to just forget the cliffhanger.
The company is moving on from old classics like Monkey Island and Sam and Max which is fine to me. It's better to end a story on a solid note than to sequel it to death.
Where's my closure, though?
"Now, will our signature format continue to evolve, will it continue to change? Yes. Is it always going to be the same? Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, we're starting to see things change mechanically this year and we've got a strong commitment internally and creatively at the studio to push the format forward into 2018 with the final season of The Walking Dead, and with The Wolf Among Us. You're seeing some of that stuff changing right now with Batman and in particular Minecraft Story Mode season 2. [That] has some mechanics that we've never done in a Telltale game—there are boss battles in that game that almost feel like you're playing a Zelda boss fight.
"There are things that we're experimenting with incrementally that, three to six months from now, episodes and event current series can implement things that we've never really been able to pull off in a Telltale game."
As we go into our second season, we know we have Bigby and Snow White, but as for where and when it will be set, we can't say for sure. But it will be a new story and mystery.
TWAU Season 2 for the new players!!!! CALLING IT!!!!
That was pretty informative! Surprised to learn how close Wolf came to being cancelled. And sad to hear no new Borderlands planned anytime soon. I still have a sneaky suspicion that they have a James Bond game in development...
I think it would be a waste of Telltale's talent just like it would be for Naughty Dog if they come back to making a new Crash Bandicoot or a new Jak and Daxter.
Job being blunt with that classic Telltale talk at the end there. Yeesh Sam & Max deserve more respect than this. I love Telltale, but they need to give the IP to someone who actually cares.
I disagree. I think it would be a fun experiment. Especially if it were a special or stand alone game/episode or something of that nature. Like Puzzle Agent.

Sweet!
Minecraft is doing a good job experimenting with new mechanics in Telltale's engine. Stuff that we probably never expected to see 5 years ago. Controllable Fight scenes? - Yup. We got that.
Good to know that they're planning to do the same with other series down the line. Pushing the limit of what gameplay elements they can implement into their games. Yay.
Here's another smaller interview with Job S. that came out of PC Gamer:

Considering that the first mystery won't be revisited ever again, it makes sense that people would still be able to jump in just fine. I'm sure they can get acquainted with Bigby and Snow easily. Wouldn't take long, and I don't think that Telltale would need to throw exposition in everyone's faces. Just have normal scenes with them in it, and make people pull things from those.

That was kinda established from the start though. There's nothing to continue from the previous story. Literally the only thing left hanging was the Nerissa thing and it wasn't even really that important in the grand scheme of things.

And what's wrong with that? The first season was concluded perfectly, it doesn't need a continuation. S2 will be a new story in the same world, with the same characters just like it should be. GOT S2 however needs to be a direct sequel for the obvious reasons.

I was thinking right now—the fact that Telltale released this interview just a week or less after Pewdiepie accused them of "making shit games now" might not be coincidential.

This interview was conducted at Gamerscom which happened at the same time Pewdiepie made those comments during the stream, it's highly unlikely the journalist involved in the interview or even Job himself knew about his comments during the stream as they would have been really busy during the convention.
The interview releasing now is merely a coincidence due to the convention happening at the same time.

Season 1's ending was supposed to be ambiguous. You get your own meaning from the events that transpired.
The point of it all is putting your detective skills to the test. Who was Nerissa? Who was Faith?
Season 2 was never meant to be created, but Telltale saw the fans' reactions and probably said: "Yeah, we can do that."

They end almost all seasons with a cliffhanger. Usually, they're ambiguous, thematic cliffhangers.
A. It makes you think about how you think their story might end.
B. It leaves potential sequels the opportunity to launch off of it.
Maybe Season 2 was considered at one point after the release of EP5, but Telltale decided that story was best left alone with an ambiguous cliffhanger.
It's only now that they're deciding to revisit that world [not that mystery].

I have feeling that The Wolf Among Us Season 2 will take place at The Farm. Like, that makes sense to me and we will probably see Goldilocks(A Total Evil Bitch) who is trying to take over the farm and a huge anti-human movement to take fighting to Bigby Wolf and Snow
I think it's better to never have that revealed. The main conflict and mystery was solved in the game, and it just left that last zinger at the end to rest in your mind after the game is finished, and the player can determine the truth of that themselves. Provides a cool, almost 4th wall breaking, moment where you really have gotten so much into Bigby's shoes that you are investigating even after the game is over. Amazing ending choice imo and I hope it isn't solved in the next game.
a holder of land by feudal tenure on conditions of homage and allegiance.

If you have a king, you probably have lords. The lords are the vassals of the king, sworn to him and serving him, providing tribute, troops, etc.

It better be based on Daniel Craig's franchise.

What about those players who chose to go after Nerissa?
I mean, sure that kinda blows that there won't get a direct answer but we really don't need to base the next season on this one question.
And what's wrong with that? The first season was concluded perfectly, it doesn't need a continuation. S2 will be a new story in the same world, with the same characters just like it should be. GOT S2 however needs to be a direct sequel for the obvious reasons.
Pretty sure it would be based on the books. Bond is usually better in his classic 50's/60's setting.
I just asked above. What about Nerissa's secret?
It's left open to speculation. They never intended on giving us the straight answer, we will never know for sure and we don't need to.
What is the point of it if they don't bother giving us an answer? It makes the choice of following her in Season 1 so pointless.
Telltale is finally starting to communicate with their community.Like the fact that they lately made a bunch of interviews and inside looks.
I was thinking right now—the fact that Telltale released this interview just a week or less after Pewdiepie accused them of "making shit games now" might not be coincidential.

That interviewer asked questions poorly, but I'm surprised at the amount of insight we got (with some 'insight' thrown in there, too).
Thanks for clearing up the situation.
Correct me if I am wrong but the Poker games were produced so they could test out their engine and listen to feedback on what to improve?
Telltale Texas Hold'em in 2004 was a tech demo. Beyond that, the Poker Night games were just normal games.
I really don't think his comment was that significant.
What is a vassal?

Finally, an interviewer asking questions we actually want answers to.
I want this dude to do all future Telltale interviews, lol
If you're talking about playable characters, no, they haven't. If you're talking about remaining cast, no as well.
They have a lot of characters at different places they can use still.
Did you read the interview? They never intended to resolve it because it was supposed to be a noir trope and an ambiguous ending.

Ha, I never thought of it that way. I really like that idea!
0/10 interview, didnt ask about slaughterhouse
I think they actually answered this in the comics, if I recall correctly?
