How to download entire season at once?

I just purchased the first season the other day, downloaded the installation from this website and played the first episode.

I then realized that only the first episode was downloaded, and that I'd have to download each episode individually.

This is obviously annoying as hell. Do you guys know if there's any way I could just download all episodes at once?

  • To my knowledge, unfortunately not (unless you buy the game from Steam, which automatically downloads all available episodes released at the time you download it). I would just space some time out to download the episodes in advance as you do something else. If you want, maybe you can send some feedback to Telltale Support (via a Support Request Ticket or email) to add a "Download All Available Episodes" feature in their menu/engine for future games.

  • Thanks.

I assume they are very much aware of this annoyance -- since it is so obvious -- but have their reasons (technical / legal).

I guess I'll try sending an email anyhow...

  • Even more annoying, it looks like the game stops downloading if it's not in focus (even when I leave the computer and it goes to the lock screen).

This is really ridiculous, how could they have released the game like this?

  • Seriously? An episode takes 5 minutes at most to download. If you do not even have the patience to sit behind your monitor for 5 minutes, I really worry for you. Download each episode after you finished the previous one.

Downloading major titles such as Assassin's Creed Syndicate takes me around 30-40 minutes? Do i complain? Nope.

Who's harrassing him? I'm just staing facts. Tell me in what way have I harrassed him? Its a fact anyone should be able to sit in front of the monitor for 5 minutes. Telltale aren't our parents, we can't expect everything to be handed to us that easily. Clicking a button to download and waiting for 5 minutes is easy enough everytime you finish an episode.

  • Harass may not be the right word but you're at least being needlessly aggressive.

  • Ah, I apologise. I was just bummed out how independant people can be these days.

  • Well, downloading things vary from person to person.
Some people have better stronger, faster internet plans than others... So for this guy it could take maybe 15 or 20 minutes to download one episode alone.

Sure, it isn't long, but if you bought an entire season after it was all released, you'd expect the whole thing to be downloaded at once.

I'm happy for you but I my downloads via their servers are slow as hell (more than an hour for the ~2.5 GB of an episode).

It's probably due to their servers not being optimized for my country; with steam I get full download speed (full as in my full ISP package).

    Edit:

ScootyZ, this is in reply to your comment on download speeds.

I couldn't reply directly to your message for some reason (looks like they're still working on the basic features of a forum - a platform which exists for decades now).

  • ScootyZ we're not spoiled; people expect to spend more time with the game they bought rather than spend it on acquiring the game.

Steam and other online stores manage this just fine.
