Most Underrated Portrayal of Joker?
Who do you think is the most underrated portrayal of Joker? I think Richard Epcar (Injustice 2) deserves a lot of attention.
DO NOT include Jack Nicholson (Batman 1989), Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight) or Mark Hamill (Animated Universe and Arkham Trilogy), the most popular portrayals in DC universe.

I think Jared Leto deserves a second chance. He isn't the best but he ain't bad either. I've seen worse portrayals than him.
"The coolest thing Jared Leto ever did was get punched in the face by Edward Norton in Fight Club" - Raphael Bob Waksberg 2017
Gee, what did Jared Leto do to get so much hate? If the Joker portrayal is one of those reasons, people are fucking stupid.
Does Gotham's Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) count? Technically, he isn't the Joker (yet?), but after the third season it looks like that's where it is going, and there already are a lot of parallels to other portrayals of the Joker.
I thought he was one of the worst (I respect your opinion). Worse than Jared Leto.
Any specific reason for not liking him?
I think that, taking into consideration the actor and the character are very young in Gotham and that Jerome needs to share the spotlight with several other villains at once (Edward Nygma being my favourite), he does an excellent job. His reveal is one of my favourite scenes in the show, because I was totally buying his sad story... Until he smiled.
He is pretty forgettable and doesn't have a make-up, I know it might be a dumb reason but Joker, without his make-up, doesn't make it a good portrayal.
This may seem strange to you but Joker likely wasn't born with makeup on.
Oh yeah! I love Jerome. I love that interrogation when he cuts the act. "Be a whore, be a drunken whore even, just don't be a NAGGING DRUNKEN WHORE!"
Is he Joker though? I haven't seen pastt season 2 but I figured after you know what that they were setting him up to be the Mad Hatter. Though obviously I'm not caught up so that doesn't carry a lot of weight.
Gosh I hate that Joker. He just doesn't do it for me.
Does John Doe count?
Of course. He is not so popular.
He is not forgettable. I'd say that he is one of the best. I'm not sure if you've seen all of Gotham, but if you have, you wouldn't say that he is forgettable at all.
He's just a shitty person and a mediocre actor I guess
I haven't seen Gotham because I didn't even know it existed until I watched Watchmojo's Top 10 Joker Portrayals.
I'd say John Doe but let's wait till Batman TEW is over
One of the reasons why I love him is that he gives me the "Joker" vibe with just his smile and crazy eyes, no make up at all.
Then it isn't really fair to judge, is it? You can't judge something forgettable before you've even seen it.
Watch Season 3, really, it is SO good!
If it turns out that he isn't the Joker, I think any other person they make the Joker will look way too close to him on his mannerisms. I also do not like the theory that he would "inspire" the real Joker because I do not like the idea of the Joker being a copycat. I like Jerome because he gave me "the Joker" with his facial expression alone, even before his mouth got weird. The kid's got some talent.
I agree.
He's actually my favourite Joker, I was really surprised to see Liam from Shameless play the Joker, he did a fantastic job.
Oh yeah, I was really pissed off when they implied that he was just inspiration. He's too good to just be wasted.
Its like they were trying to make Joker for the edgelords of the world
I actually like his Joker, I like they turn him Into a gangsters, It's original and Isn't copying anyone else's Joker. My only problem with his Joker Is he doesn't get a enough screen time, which Isn't his fault.
I thought John DiMaggio did a decent job as the Joker in Under the Red Hood. I'm surprised considering how skeptical I was when I first learned that they cast him.
I didn't really like that Joker. The voice acting wasn't bad, just the writing I suppose. It felt like they were trying too hard to make him funny. "Party pooper. No cake for you" I mean I liked the scenes where he was being crazy, but not when he was cracking jokes. Like I liked when he said "You did it, you found a way to win! I love it. And everybody still loses! No, don't spoil the fun! I'm the only one that's getting what I want" like THAT was good but it just kinda made me cringe when they were trying to make him funny.
