I think that's a flaw (killing for shock, uninspired plot driver) of the TV show and especially the game TWD. They used it for that game... and so why not with GOT? Except that it is lazy story telling.
It is kinda funny that the death that hurt me the most because it ended my favourite story line (the King's Landing one) is the one that I f… moreeel it was closer to the true spirit of A Song of Ice and Fire, with the mistakes done and trusting the wrong people led to the character's (determinant) death. The rest was mostly butchering for the sake of butchering. I both wanted and didn't want that death because of this.
I feel like TellTale just didn't get ASOIAF. They thought that the killing of main characters was what makes it so good, when it is the realism of character relationships and political intrigues in a fantasy setting what actually makes it so good.

If we're comparing GOT (game) versus TWD (game) sure. But I was comparing it to the actual TV show. Sure, none of the main characters died until episode five, but then three of them were determinant - which in TT verse means that they are going to be dead in the very next episode, or off screen and we'll learn about it flashbacks.
On the TV show, only Ned dies season one. Then season three Rob, Talissa and Catelyn do. Another Stark doesn't die until season six. Six! Oh, in the first episode Gregor dies. I mean, we barely get to know him so he's not a "major" character" but he is one of the Forresters. His death should count. Plus, then Elissa dies by season's end. The body count for one single family (especially a family that is similar in some respects to the Starks) in a single season is four; because either Asher/Rodrik are dead. Three are determinant, which as I've said earlier, pretty much means they are also dead. So that brings the number of (probable) deaths to six Forresters. Still a pretty high body count, no?, for a single season?
Plus why are you limiting the death toll to just the main characters? In the game Arthur, Cotter, and Maester Ortengryn are dead. Finn, Tom, Royland/Duncan are determinant, meaning also probably dead. Plus Elaena's fate is unknown; so probably dead. I didn't even mention Amaya or the Beast or a whole slew of tertiary characters.
Don't tell me I'm exaggerating.
If anything, this just reminded me of how there are too many deaths in TWD game of main characters.
I mean, it's a growing gaming market but it simply is not profitable for all types of games and business models. I think Telltale could achieve more with their engine if mobile was out of the way.
I just noticed that episode 2 was rating on the 4th.

Season 1 episode 3 had that kinky scene between Bruce and Selina which heavily hints at sex so the people at the rating bard would rate it higher, as the ratings appear to be lower in this episode it would mean something like that is unlikely to happen.

Hmm.. Interesting how Anthony's mentioned quite a lot already that John Doe can either be the usual psychotic Joker we all know and love, or you can shape him to be an ally of yours.
But, as we already know from the Episode 5 slide... it seems this eventually unravels into a fight (unless Telltale changes that at one point). A shame, but not quite. I think that if/when that fight occurs, it would be different tonally. Either he fights you because you've resented and ignored him, so he tries to kill you out of insanity.. or maybe he fights you because you've crossed him in some way, and he fights you because he's felt betrayed. Therefore, either the player might feel pride when coming into the fight because the Joker has finally been unleashed, or they might feel guilty because they could not save a friend of theirs from the clutches of madness.
I'm thinking that John will always go bad but the way it happens will be different and our relationship with him could play a big part. It could be an emotional moment for anyone who went the friendship route with him.

I really don't understand the Bat x Harley ship. I mean, Cats is morally ambiguous and has fought along his side and helped him survive. HQ is certifiably insane, and (ya know) known to be evil. What's the attraction in that? Why would Bruce to be attracted to her?
I get the impression that a lot of people want to romance pretty much everyone, not only in Telltale games, no matter if it makes sense or not. A new character appears? As long as it's considered attractive someone will post a thread asking to add a romance for him/her (especially if it's her).

Gotta be honest,so far all the looks of the characters are different but impresssive. And I know how hard it is to not copy other styles, and I'm amazed how Telltale completed this with no hassle,however...I would have to say the Telltale Harley Quinn model is a bit...more brutal and shady looking than odd but dangerous. Its a nice take on Harleys look, but its a bit eh.
Saying that, its probaly because I watched Suicide Squad and everyone loves that Harley Quinn.BUT,its something different for once, something most DC games fail at making.Good job Telltale, cant wait till episode 2!
I might aswell bring up to NOT complain at me as it will acomplish nothing, its just my pure opinion.AND NOTE I may grow closer to Telltales Harley, since at first glance I thought the Joker-"John Doe"-but I grew to enjoy him.
Actually? I'm very picky when deciding who or if to romance someone in a game. I just find Harley's white skin and insanity to be quite attractive traits. At least to me they are.

But where has she shown to be evil? We haven't seen her in the game yet to determine how evil this version of Harley is and as I said yesterday, she's no longer a bad guy in most universes.
I showed you that comic book page yesterday proving that Bruce does indeed find Harley attractive. So I'm not sure what you still don't understand about how Bruce could be attracted to her. It's been proven that he does/is.
It's pretty much canon that Harley really is a good person when she's away from the Joker's influence.

I find insanity very unattractive, and don't understand why anyone would. I dated an albino dude once. I'm not averse to it. Are you attracted to geisha girls too?

Let's just say that I am suspicious of anyone who is a member of the pact. We think she's going to be a villain, right? The blood on the bat could be innocent enough or an indication of her violent (possibly sadistic) temperament - in a similar vein to Negan.
I can't comment on the comics, because I've never read Batman comic books, and seeing few pages doesn't do a whole lot for me.
Edit: I meant this Bruce and a HQ that is a member of the pact. If she is anything like the Riddler I don't want Bruce attracted to her. You find insanity a turn on and I find it a turn off. I hope he is more like me. Or I hope it gives us the option to express our values/inclinations.

Oh how I love you, John! We must protect this man!

I think you're greatly exaggerating how many characters died in GOT. After episode 1 not a single main character died until episode 5.
Same!!

Yup. I wonder if telltale will go the realistic route with graphics one day.
This makes me so happy

Threesome? Well, that's your option,my option is Investa with the Avesta!
Mild sex huh...

Did they tone down the themes and sex? I was sure it was higher in S1E3. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, I see. I'm kind of wondering what that sex content is going to be. Hopefully some romance (i hope).
Nah man. Full. Penetration. Right on screen.
Oh. Sure. Tbh, I'd just like some romance.
I wonder if it's related to Bruce romancing someone or Harley and John's relationship?

edit.. moved to the don't know about thread

I first read it as: "We comin' for that Harvey/Avesta booty" and I was like...what?
Same thing still applies ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
