Stop releasing games early in certain countries
This has been a problem for a while... well for me at least. It used to be worse back when they “officially” released Xbox 360 episodes a day later then steam and pc (that was really stupid) But now theirs this thing were some countries get episodes early and in order to play them early on Xbox one you basically have to guess countries. (usually its Australia for some reason even though they don’t have the earliest time zone) But sometimes it just won’t work and you can’t play the episode when other people are. You can tell other people are playing the episode early too because if you have the official Xbox app u can see a percentage of people who have unlocked achievements and u can see that people are playing early because the achievements already have percentages (like .10%-.50%, that’s not just reviewers because that would be to much) it’s annoying and I swear to god when TWD TFS comes out I will not put up with this shit. I wonder if people would be interested in an official forum for Xbox one users on how to get episodes early because personally I want to play episodes (especially TWD) as early as possible.

Sorry meant steam and ps3*
Time zones exist sorry to break it to you. You can't just fast forward time, and that shouldn't be a thing that you can even do on Xbox one.
It doesn't matter if time zones are a thing. Plenty of companies release their game all at once instead of earlier in some countries.
It’s not just telltale that does this. Telltale says the episode comes out on (insert date here) then it’s the (insert date here) and the episode isn’t there. It just wouldn’t be fair to people living in Australia. It may be unfair to people like us but it’s not too hard to avoid spoilers.
As someone living in the US, I think it's kinda fair. Australia often doesn't get games because the rating board there refuses to classify them, and those games are thusly banned. Sometimes, games just won't be distributed to the PAL region because companies decide it's not worth the effort or cash, even when there's a bigger fan base there. Seems right to me that countries with less games get earlier access. It's also not their fault that time zones mean a day comes sooner.
Considering countries like Australia and New Zealand had to put up with delays for up to literal years when it came to products, I don't think it's that bad that they get some games earlier. Movies, shows and books still have longer delays for them as well as a few games. At the end of the day, I don't think there's anything Telltale is going to do about this. I don't really see why it really matters either, at the end of the day everyone is able to play it.

I don’t exactly get what your “meme” is trying to prove. Yea time zones don’t matter when releasing games, you can release a game universally plenty of companies do it. It’s almost like you read the first sentence to make your stupid meme without reading the whole comment. I obviously didn’t mean time zones don’t matter at all, I meant it doesn’t matter when releasing games. The only problem with releasing a game worldwide at the same time is some people would get it at later/early time but personally I think that’s not that big of a deal, if TWD episodes came out at 4 in the morning I would wake up and play it. I think it’s more important the consumers receive the content at the same time rather then staggered.
I'm gonna say that it should stay the way it is. It's fair, and I don't see Telltale doing a workaround for this. People who live in their respective time zones should play it in their respective time zones.
I do think that something should be done concerning early playthroughs and such being posted online. Given that Telltale's games are all about story, having certain events ruined early by thumbnails, titles, or word of mouth isn't all that fun if you want to experience it yourself. Seeing all these people post their videos about the latest episode a day early is worrisome because you never know when someone will suddenly post a spoilerific video.
i genuinely don't see how you can't understand that what you're saying is ridiculous. just because you and a small minority would wake up at 4 in the morning and fuck up your entire bodily system just to play another shitty episode of the walking dead doesn't mean EVERYBODY would. time zones make sense and it's fine. calm yourself. waiting a few extra hours is not going to kill you.
I think it's definitely fair, but I would also like to point out that Telltale is not the only company to do their releases they way they do.
Bungie did the same thing with the release of Destiny 2, making it available at the player's midnight of September 6th and nobody really had a problem with it even though some players had earlier access than others.
[Redacted] Staying up till midnight to play a 2:00-2:30 hour long episode is just as bad as waking up early, and if you were to wake up at 4:00 one time to play an episode it wouldn't "fuck up your body" plenty of people have jobs were they occasionally have to wake up that early. If you don't want to wake up that early good for you and just don't if you dont want to "fuck up your body" And if you don't mind waiting a few hours then just play it when you wake up, hell you said it yourself "calm yourself. waiting a few extra hours is not going to kill you."
You mean a few extra days I understand and would be completely fine if they got episodes earlier by a few hours but theirs been times were telltale released an episode 2 days early in Australia. Ultimately it ruins the hype and it separates the community because people are discussing the episode a day or 2 earlier and if you don't want it to get spoiled you'll have to basically not go on YouTube or the forums at all which honestly isn't that big of a deal but it ruins the fun factor of having a community that can experience something together at the same time instead of a day or 2 apart.
Your entire argument is rendered pointless by this one statement alone.
Yeah, no, let me stop you right there friendo. Have some time away from the forums.
Thank you for your help, Papa Blind. Super sorry that I got aggressive towards him as well, I'm just as much in the wrong here.
Doesn't Australia have like gigantic horrifying monster spiders?
yeah, but early video games dude
it's worth it
Him saying a mean thing makes him rude, doesn't make his logic any less... logic.
If you have to resort to non sequiturs about Autism instead of elaborating on your point, it certainly doesn't help.
True, true.
I know Dontnod was perfectly able to schedule time of release with their Life is Strange game and accurately announced to their fans when the episodes would be available for download worldwide. Since Life is Strange uses the same episodic format as Telltale games it is definitely possible to schedule these things, Telltale just seems to not be able to (or not want to)?
It really is a bummer, I almost always end up spoiled.
It was definitely unwarranted, unecessary and silly, not denying that. But apart from that, he did elaborate on his point.
There's only one papa.
Daddy Dojo.
Well now with before the storm people are getting eps a day early.
New Zealand still gets them an hour earlier than Aussie I believe
yah but shoddy australian internet tho, it takes a day to download the damn thing
and besides if you're on steam you're shit out of luck because episodes release 3am wednesday

It's one day.
One day.
If you're that worried about spoilers, stay off the internet for one day.
You've seen me here. If I can do it, you can do it.
I hardly ever buy games day 1 anymore and I can avoid spoilers. Want to know my secret? I'll tell you. Guess what too? I even stay connected to the internet and social media in the process. Okay. My big secret. I... Don't go on a forum dedicated to that game nor click topics related to that game. It's amazing. You wouldn't believe how few people talk about the ending to The Sixth Sense on the Megadeth forum. Crazy.
All right. Sorry for patronizing you folks. It's fair though. Australia... wait, why are we picking on Australia? A lot of countries outside of North America deal with a lot more issues regarding video games and movies. Issues from censorship and availability to delays and region(mostly of past). They can have the one day. I am sorry for the shot, but really, that "why doesn't everything always work out in my favour" attitude is selfish.
