Should I buy Beyond: Two Souls?
I enjoyed Until Dawn, Heavy Rain, and All of the Telltale games (obviously). Does Beyond: Two Souls hold a flame to any of these titles? Are there difficult choices to make? Please no spoilers

I wouldn't really recommend that game cause it's definitely David Cage's worst game he made. It has terrible QTEs, there are some difficult choices but most of them just don't matter.
However, if you're a fan of Christopher Nolan's Inception (Which is what I think this game is coming from), you're probably like this cause the main protagonist is played by a celebrity from that movie, no spoiling who it is.
Wasn't the biggest fan of Inception and I'm not familiar with David Cage. I just heard it was a great interactive story but terrible where gameplay was concerned
Yeah, you may like the story but the gameplay? Not a big fan.
Beyond two souls falls flat from the start by having plot be in anachronic order, which means most choices aren't going to have any impact on future scenes. The exceptions largely being the ending and decisions that impact the scenes they take place in.
Some of the scenes can be pretty amusing, though mostly because David Cage can't seem to grasp subtlety most of the time.
Overall I wouldn't recommend it. If you're looking for a competently made interactive movie I'd recommend Late Shift first. It's a full FMV game with surprisingly impressive production values and a pretty gripping story. If you really want to play a David Cage game I'd suggest trying Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy if you haven't already, provided you don't take it too seriously.
Is Late Shift on PS4? And what does FMV stand for? I'm basically looking for a decision based game to play that's similar to the games I listed. I liked LiS a lot too and i prefer a more mature storyline
Yep PS4 is actually what I played it on . FMV stands for Full Motion Video, basically live action. The genre does have somewhat of a stigma attached due to all the crappy games in the 90s but Late Shift does feel like a legitimate movie thanks to the production values. It does have choices and a timer like Telltale that do have quite a bit of impact on how scenes play out. It was $12.50 at full price when I bought it. It is a bit short for the price though, about 2-3 hours long.
Fascinating. I've never heard of it but the reviews seem mixed and mostly positive. Do you recall how big the download size Is? Wondering if I have time to play it tonight
That I can't remember. I don't believe it'd be too memory consuming, probably 3-5 GB at most. I think the reviews are understandable. it has some problems but I still enjoyed my time with it.
Just finished Late Shift. I enjoyed it a lot and was thoroughly impressed by the branching story. I think I got a decent ending. Are there other games in this style that I should know about? Thanks again for your recommendation
Contradiction is also live action, and I personally loved the game. You can really see the main guy enjoying the shit out of himself.
It's more of a detective game than anything else, but it's great. I really recommend it.
While it may have it's problems it is still worth a play or 2 so if ya can get relatively cheap hell yea grab it.
Aside from @captainivy1 's suggestion the only recent FMV game that comes to mind is Press X To Not Die. I'd recommend it if you're into those over-the-top comedy sketches on youtube. It's a pretty QTE heavy game as spelled out by the title but it's also got a number of dialogue choices as well.
Also the developers behind Until Dawn just released a new game called Hidden Agenda that looks interesting. I haven't played it yet so I don't know much about it aside from the story being a crime drama.
The story is really bad it doesn’t really make sense. Things aren’t explained choices don’t matter and you can see the twist coming from a mile away
