Why do people think that a character is going to die in episode 5? Not bashing the idea or anything just wondering what brought up this opinion. If I had to guess which character was going to be killed off it would have to be Alfred. My reason being that Alfred is like the soul of Batman and getting rid of Alfred would really impact Bruce and Batman drastically.
I would prefer that no one die in Ep5. This would keep better with the Batman comic traditions. It's rare when the deaths occur. It allows for them to keep their impact.
I think the concerns arise because this is a frequent trope used in Batman Games, and in a lot of the other TellTale titles for their final episodes containing a major character death.
I believe it's because of some of the achievements for episode five, such as Funny or Die, Fractured, and Darkest Before the Dawn for example. These don't 100% mean someone will die, but they are somewhat leading, and being the last episode of the season... I personally expect SOMEONE to die.

I think somebody will die in ep5, who it is... it's hard to predict but if I would guess I would bet on Avesta, Harley or Tiffany.
I doubt Harley will considering there is a chance she is locked up based on your choices. It would be too messy if they want to use her again in a future season if she is dead in one outcome. Personally I think Joker will die or be presumed dead based on your choices (similar to Vicki) I'm basing this off the fact he knows your identity. (Like choose to save him or not). Also:

Here s what i feel like telltale could do: Have either catwoman or Tiffany die in this season depending on if you betrayed Catwoman or not then have them be determinant characters that show up ocasionally to help out with the reasoning for Tiffany leaving if you revealed to her that you re batman being that much like the version where she doesnt know Bruce is Batman she joins the agency so that she can get the training to eventually help him out on the field like she wants to in episode 4.
With all due respect, Mr@The_Bat_Among_Us, I think the point of @JmoooX post was that the memes spreading in all the threads where people expect more serious discussion are just making a little bit of a chaos and makes the discussion really hard to read and difficult for others to jump into it (possibly discouraging them from joining). It is not even the matter of one or two memes thrown here and there, but each meme triggers meme related responses and then we get the full off-topic mode. Why wouldn't we just put memes in the memes thread and stay on the topic in the plot related threads?
Postscriptum: I believe all members of this community should be treated with equal respect and cordiality, no matter of how long ago they joined or how many posts had they written.

And going back to the question in the title of this thread: I am not sure if any character will die in this episode, but I believe that death of an important character in episode 5 would make sense only if the next season is on the way and it is planned to be darker than this one. Such event would rise stakes for the future events. I would not like to see any of my favorite characters die (Alfred, Selina, Gordon counts in), but if they are planning something big, then they will probably use a character important for all the players to play with our emotions the same way as with Bruce's. All these characters are important and irreplaceable, but if I would have to bet on one, then it would be Gordon.
