What is the point of watching the stream if they're not going to let the streamers see the content?

The characters look interesting, and I get that AJ should have some peers along his journey, but the mention of this "Boarding School" is really weird. I'd like survival of the elements, not survival of school.
As they mentioned its still survival. These children are hardly learning everything and have to burn their books and work just to survive another night, especially in this cold dead setting we got a glimpse of. I don't think this will be a lasting setting but its not something we got much of a chance to explore, which has me excited.
