So how does one become a moderator?

Not that I want to become one. I'm just curious, I always wondered how the people with the MOD tag in forums became worthy of that title

    It just depends. It's a combination of ideally meeting a few niches, and also, being a good and notable member of the community in some regards, such as being civil or making good quality posts.
