Games Taking On a More 3rd Person Perspective?

If any of you have seen gameplay footage of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, one question will come to mind. Are the games from TWD TFS onwards going to take on a more 3rd person perspective?

  • I think they will start to make each game feel more individual and adaptive of what fits the needs of the IP and the story they are trying to tell. Previous hints from Job Stauffer indicated Telltale games would start to more radically evolve after Batman Enemy Within, and I speculate that includes making each game more unique.

I saw that video and really liked the new camera. Hope it gets implemented in other future Telltale games, i think its much more entertaining and benefits both the player and the gaming experience to have total control over our character and not just click on a certain object to make him go there.

  • Life is Strange and Dreamfall: Chapters did it.

  • No idea. Really, none of us do.

It's cool and interesting to have a new gameplay style for Telltale's games, but I admit that I'd miss the different camera angles while exploring. It helped them pull off some nice cinematography for some of their games. (The one I can vividly remember right now is TFTB's World of Curiosities segment.)

  • While I hope they continue to use the new camera and gameplay elements, I hope they don't repeat their 2012 - 2017 mistakes where every game looked the same and used the same formula. Switch it up with each game. Make them unique.

  • Got me a spicy mock up I made of what Wolf S2's camera may look like

  • Reminds me of LA Noir with having the ability to investigate objects by manually rotating them. Which really makes me hope that Wolf S2's investigation scenes will play like that.
