Steam/Telltale is ripping UK + European customers off.
Edit: Pete Hawley (CEO) confirmed that they will fix it in early July.
A New Frontier had 5 episodes and it was £18.99.
The Final Season has 4 episodes and it's £18.99 (excluding the pre-order discount).
What the fuck is this? It's supposed to be around £15 - £16.

Edit: For the US it's $17.99. That means it should be around £14 for the UK.

Same in the European store... usual 5 episode season price... for a 4 episode season. Nice try Telltale.
Thats pretty messed up, American steam page is selling the whole game for 20 dollars, 18 with the discount. 18.99 Pounds is about 25 dollars USD, so as if the game had 5 episodes.
The Final Season is €23.99 in Ireland. It is most likely tax and other things.... Well.... I can't say that for the UK as the economy is different compared to Ireland's. A New Frontier was worth €29.99 over here too. VAT is a bit of a problem over here so we have to pay more than the original price to get items in shops etc.
Because season 3 basically had 4 episodes as well, especially when u consider the length.
Okay let's use another example. Batman S2 is also £18.99, so is TWD S1, TWD S2, etc... basically every 5 episode series.
When was it ever any different? I noticed awhile ago with new games there would randomly not be the discount for buying them all at once.
Its still 5$ an episode. LOL! at thinking they would actually give is a discount still. Its probably 4 episodes because they're hurting.
Fair enough
It's not just Steam. Its the same on Humble Bundle, GOG and GamersGate...
That's even worse. This means it's not an error on Steam's side, it's something Telltale did deliberately...
Yes - the UK price is different to Europe. We price-match with consoles for a multitude of reasons, and the pricing in the UK is a little different than other territories, so, unfortunately, that is the price.
But.... pre-order discount.... silver lining? Work with me here.
It's not just the UK. This is the price in Euro - it's a euro more expensive than 5 episode seasons excluding the discount (not my screenshots):
It doesn't really make sense. I see what you mean but it doesn't explain why it's priced the same as every other 5 episode season, yet in the US the price has been adjusted accordingly. Seems like the price has been adjusted accordingly only in the US. I'm thankful for the discount but this is quite shady.
I'll look into it more.
What I dont really understand is how like for example:
Season 1 has 5 episodes = 25 USD, and the price is adjusted in European countries to be the same amount as 25 USD. (for example 25 USD is = 18 English Pounds) so Season 1 in England is 18 pounds which is equivalent to 25 USD
But how come with season 4 being 20 USD, the price is staying the same in England with 18 pounds. That would mean people in England are paying about 25 USD while America pays 20 USD. Seems weird now theres an issue and European countries have to pay more, if that was the case how come a game like Season 1 wasnt 25 USD in America but 22 Pounds in England (30 USD) ?
Usually the price per episode on release/pre-order is 5€. Game of Thrones, which had 6 episode was 30€, for example. The Michonne Miniseries was 15€. And all the other 5 episode seasons 25€...
Now it seems that the price per episode has increased to 6€, and the news post the other day certainly made it sound like the price per episode wouldn't be changing.
I know this may sound like just crying over some pennies, but surely anyone can see how stumbling upon these numbers could leave a bad taste in any (loyal!) costumer's mouth.
EDIT: Fuck now it seems like I just copied the comment above
Tbh as long as the episodes are long I don't really give a shit
They're shelling out four episodes for the same price that ANF had. Something's not quite right here. If anything at this point Telltale needs to pledge at least two hours per episode. They shouldn't be charging more for less content, which is almost certainly the case.
Us PC players are saving 2 bucks instead of getting 19 extra episodes ?
And the non-US pc people aren’t even saving 2 bucks
@mostlypoptarts Can you just confirm if the Episodes are over 2 hours long?
GOG is offering 7 euro off future purchases if you pre-order from them as a result of regional price differences.
it costs 38.95 without discount in New Zealand off steam and 35.05 with discount with other seasons being 30 full price. Unfortunately, I just paid that thinking they just raised prices
I'd recommend refunding it and waiting until they fix the prices, then purchasing it again.
Or just refund your money and wait for the reviews to come out. Pre-ordering is like a random slot machine of not knowing how said content will come out as.
That's what I would've said too (and hope others do so) but since he already preordered it before, I thought he'd already made his decision.
Will there be any way to buy the season from telltale site instead of steam? I've always bought from here but I don't see a way to preorder the final season here
Double post
Here in Brazil is being offered for $ 26, due to fees.
i just think of the word ''Milked'' and "one last time'' when i see this..., im just gonna watch it on Youtube
You Euro critters need to understand...you have to pay for invading the USA during the war of 1812....you burned Washington...I say you are getting off lite. Oh and they are fixing the price in July...so cause fake drama elsewhere.
Let’s pretend this never happened
Your drama is fake...and I always whine about thing...hell I am still salty over the forum change. plus DO YOU DENY YOU INVADED US?.
Let's get back on topic instead of trolling each other, please.
Blind....August is sooooooooo far away....need something to get the pulse going.

...coughbuttkissercough....
jokes...just jokes
haha yes...
Soooo... When is the UK/EU price fix coming? The CEO stated that it was coming early July, when exactly?
It's 200 Pesos on Argentina, so, that would translate to 10.50$ US Dollars. I'm happy to get it for that price.
How does it compare to past Seasons though? Price per episode-wise?
I'd probably give them another week. Hopefully, they don't back down on this.
I got TFS in a 10% Discount.
But normally it would be 229$, which would be 12.02$ US Dollars
All the other games on their normal prices are 279$, which translates to 14.65$ US Dollars.
