Is Telltale Game of Thrones a bad game?
I've never played the game but heard that many people didn't like it. Is the game really that bad? What are the problems it has?

The graphics are a bit hard to get used to, but I enjoyed it.
I haven't watched a minute of GOT, and I was able to follow along with it. Some characters (Specifically Gared, Asher, and Rodrik) have great plotlines.
If you get over the rushed and ugly visuals, it's a fun ride with good choices.
No????? I know people made a huge fit over episode 5 and some tidbits with the finale but its pretty agreed upon its a solid series overall.
Most people liked it, I will say there was a bit of a divide among fans with EPs 5 and 6 but I think it was relatively liked. Definitely not one of Telltale's most popular games but it's definitely really good. I'd recommend at least playing the first episode and then decide if you're interested enough to buy the season pass.
Personally it's my least favorite Telltale game, it has good things to it, but you can absolutely feel the railroading in this one more than any other Telltale game, especially if you know who's from the TV show (not that it's hard to tell who's from the show).
I mean its not my favorite game but its not my least favorite either. I did have a lot of fun with it even though imo episode 1 was pretty bad. If you get a chance to play it I would say go for it, dont really need any knowledge of GOT to understand it.
It's okay. Personally, I had a lot of problems with it - namely use of some of the show characters, pretty much the entirety of episode 5 and the fact that the whole game serves as a huge sequel bait, even though I'm really starting to doubt we'll get that Season 2 someday. But most of the original characters were great and overall I had fun playing it.
Dayum I forgot it had six episodes, imagine what they could do with ten episodes...
Episode 5 is terrible. Up until then, it is fantastic. The cliffhanger ending to ep 6 is still a sore spot for me.
I personally greatly enjoyed the game. I really love the Forrester family. The heavy dark atmosphere that anyone could die really helped me feel immersed into the game. Nevertheless, the game never quite reached its full potential and some bugs certainly did not help.
Well if you remember without spoiling the first episode basically set up the whole plot, I think that's why they went with 6
It's flawed, but I love it still. Holds a special place in my heart. Definitely not a bad game.
I wouldn't recommend getting into it, though. You'll only wind up waiting for the sequel that will never come. Telltale is too busy feasting on new IPs to actually work on games they confirmed two and a half years ago.
It's one of my favorite games from Telltale. It's certainly not without issues, but... I think it's great, for what it is.
Its not brilliant. Story is enjoyable enough as most Telltale’s stories are but the lack of gameplay and frequent cutscenes made it less enjoyable to me.
It's still better than TWD A New Frontier.
Oh you can say that again. Anything is better than that monstrosity
Maybe keep your grudges and whining about ANF on the Walking Dead forums.
Sorry, I had to split it in two because it was too big for me to understand what you're saying.
Right, instead of being reasonable you decided to give a childish reply and continue whining. Whatever your complaints are about ANF, this isn't the place to have them.
This is still a Telltale forums so I can talk about other games. I'm sorry you don't understand why I hate it.
I don't give a shit that you hate the game. My problem right now is that you've decided to whine about it in a completely unrelated forum. It'd be like if somebody made a discussion about Tales from the Borderlands and I decided to start bitching about Jurassic Park and derail their thread.
Agentz46 is my spirit animal
The problem is, you’ve caused an argument by saying what you have. I say so what if an unrelated topic is brought up! These forums have sucked for a long time to be fair
No. It has its flaws but I would say the pros definitely outweigh the cons. It's story is solid, the characters are likeable and it's worth playing
Its rather lackluster tbh and one of Telltale's weaker games
It definitely is the weakest Telltale Game. I'd say up to Ep. 5 the game is good, but then it just flops in quality. And with Season 2 most likely dead, it's not worth anyone's time.
I felt a lot more dependant on the show in a way Walking Dead never did, Telltale Walking Dead really came alive as it's own special thing.
Even more so than ANF?
The Game itself is pretty solid IMO. The choices in this game actually make u feel as though they have some weight to them, so much to the extent that I was actually scared to make the wrong choices. This sense of dread as to the consequences of the choices u make is something that ANF was missing.
It has it's fair share of issues but I liked it a lot in the end. I'd say it's not as good as some of telltale's better games in that timeframe like TFTB and TWAU, but it's better than everything walking dead that came after season one.
It's not horrible and it has some likeable characters and some plots are interesting, however episode 5 in particular is absolute trash, boring mostly uninteresting and with a downright awful plot twist which soured a lot of the experience, for me personally, even though I had enjoyed the previous episodes it was bad enough that I never bothered with the 6th episode.
I wouldn't say it was a waste of time but your mileage may vary, depending on how much you care about writing.
It's definitely worth buying even though it has its flaws. I played it back then when I didn't watch the series and still could follow everything that was going on. The characters have great plotlines, it's good written and your choices have a quite big weight, which makes you question if your decision was good or not every now and then. The only thing that really bothers me sometimes are the graphics, but in the end it's not such a big deal and the game is enjoyable anyway.
Nah. It was fine. It was decent. Its biggest issue was the fact that it didn't have much of an identity of its own and was a little over reliant on people's pre-existing knowledge of the show.
Oh for sure. At least ANF is getting a sequel and the ending wasn't a flat out lie.
How was the ending a flat out lie? It practically set up for a Season Two. Multiple sources say that Game of Thrones Season Two is on hold until the Show ends. Telltale themselves have not came out and said it directly to us but keep in mind those articles that mention Game of Thrones Season Two may have reached out to Telltale and a good amount of the content from the articles may have came from Telltale.
People were too harsh on the game, it wasn't the best but the choices in this game mattered a lot more than a lot of the other telltale series
I wouldn't say that necessarily means it merits that it's better. Especially considering the main characters of ANF likely won't be seen again
I loved it, largely for the story branching and how each character felt unique in their situations, it honestly made me interested in Game of Thrones.
