What if Lee, Vince, Danny and Justin had made it to the Prison?

According to a Q&A session with Jake Rodkin and Harrison G. Pink, two of Season 1's designers, at the beginning of Lee was being taken to Meriweather County Correctional Facility, aka the prison where Rick's group ended up in the comics just before meeting The Governor. And I think some people might have guessed that was where, in 400 Days, the prison bus holding Vince, Danny, Justin, Jerry (the complaining/strangled prisoner) & Crabtree were being taken too.

So my question is what if said prisoners, including Lee, had made it to the prison and had survived along with Axel, Dexter, Andrew and Thomas Richards until Rick & co. arrived? How might they interact with the group, with each other, and how long might they survive?

Personally, I can see see the following:

  • If we're going by the perception of Lee and Vince being generally okay guys but killers when push comes to shove, they're the two I can see lasting the longest, escaping the prison after it falls and either striking out, separately or together, on their own, or joining either Rick or Dale's group.

  • Danny, depending on how others confess to his unconfirmed rape and his staunch denial of it, I could see either:
    a. Being killed after trying to rape one of the women.
    b. Consider doing it but changing his mind if Thomas Richards still acts the way he did, then either try to escape the prison after the Governor's first attack or get killed during the first or second attack.

  • Justin I could see either:
    a. Between Dexter's death and the Governor's first attack, trying to escape the prison (maybe with Danny and Vince)
    b. Trying to sneak out to Woodbury, like Martinez, and getting killed in the attempt.
    c. Escaping to Woodbury, trying to make a deal with The Governor who kills him after getting information out of him.
    d. Escaping to Woodbury, making a deal with The Governor, being spared but then getting killed in one of the attacks.

  • Jerry & Crabtree, given how little we know about them, and from what we see of them in 400 Days, I don't think would last very long, getting killed in the early days either by each other, one of the guards or by walkers in the early days. Or, if they did end up surviving until Rick & co. arrived, they may end up being killed while clearing out the prison, ala Allen in the comics or Big Tiny in the TV series, or siding with Dexter, Andrew and Patricia to try and force Rick & co. out of the prison, and then either dying in the struggle like Dexter or leaving afterwards like Andrew did.

And that's all I've got for now. Any thoughts?

  • In all likelihood they'd be dead. I'm betting they were going to the same prison that was in the comics and when Rick arrived all the guards had abandoned the prison and left the prisoners to die and all but 5 of the prisoners were dead. By the time the prison arc was over in the comics, none of the prisoners survived, either killed by Rick for being dangerous, or killed in the governor's attack.

  • Surely at least one of them would survive, like Lee or Vince. They seem smart and tough enough.

  • It doesn't matter how smart or tough they are. The only reason the 4 prisoners (it was just 4, I looked it up) survived was because they were lucky enough to be locked in the canteen with all the food. Every other prisoner was either left locked in their cell or locked in somewhere where they had no food or water. Is it possible Lee or Vince may have been made a 5th member of the canteen group? Sure, it's possible, I suppose, but considering there were hundreds of other prisoners there, I doubt it.
