Christa, the unappreciated.

edited August 2018 in The Walking Dead

Man, I think Christa was a freaking beast to keep Clem alive all by herself for what, 2 years in the apocalypse?

Even if she was distant, she was one of Clem's longer lasting guardian by far. She did her job, and even died trying to protect her.

But because most of her guardianship happened off-screen she barely gets any mention, even by Clem herself. Am I supposed to believe she had no lasting impact on Clem? Even Jane gets mentions once in a while and she barely even spent much time with her.

  • Let's wait until all 4 episodes release before we prime our pitchforks, mate. We've been promised returning characters, emphasis on the plurality.

  • If they both Lilly and Christa are coming back they would most likely be in the same group. For example, after Christa goes missing she joins the 'adult group' whose leader is Lilly. I don't think Christa would be a villain, I think she would take Clem's side.

  • Christa's story needs closure imo

She was around during my favourite moments of playing The Walking Dead.

Even if it's simply bumping into someone who says "oh yeh, she ded" I'd take it over no mention at all. I don't want that question mark left over her

  • I agree. It was very unrealistic that Clem spent the entirety of season 2 reminiscing about people and events from over 2 years ago while never mentioning anything about Christa other than if people have seen her

  • I think Lilly is the better choice to return, cause then the final season has an opportunity to talk about events that happend in s1 E4-5. And s2. We can talk to her about Lee and Kenny and what happend to them.

  • Wouldn't it be so cool that Christa doesn't know Lily has relations to Clementine and vice versa? I can imagine you meet both Christa and Lily in separate scenes and they never get to talk to each other so the next scene is when Lily shoots Christa in the head.

  • I don't think Christa is so interesting as a character. Like, guys, get over it Vernon is a better character. What can you like in this depressed mofo? /s
Seriously, there is little to talk about and I lost all interest in her as a character after Omid dies. I think Christa should've died in that moment instead whilst Daddy Omid's fate is left ambiguous. Actually scratch that, their stories are so bad and not worth a telltale. At least Omid has his cat.

  • their stories are so bad

That's why its time to atleast fix Christa's story.

You say that.but we still don't know if the writing this season is going to be better or as bad as anf.so if christa makes a comeback it can go awesomely or lackluster.

  • Excactly. Undoubtedly TFS will be good but it won't match Season One. I'm expecting a mix of Michonne and S2. Even if Episode 1 is good, it's still too early to tell if the rest of the season will be excellent, especially the ending.

  • Right?! She has been with Christa longer then any group thus far. Lee gets mentioned, Kenny gets mentioned, Jane gets mentioned, hell, even Carver gets mentioned. But the woman who kept Clem alive for nearly two years? Not a peep.

  • What happened to your second grade best friend? If you're like the vast majority of people, you have no idea. Life is like that. Things happen to people and you haven't a clue where they ended up. That'd be even more prevalent in TWD universe where telephones and facebook and email no longer exist.

  • Yes, but if video games always went with the most realistic scenarios, then they wouldn't be quite as fun.

I want my video game character to get closure. I don't care what the odds realistically would be of them meeting again. I still want it to happen, and it easily can

    Exactly!

@Stewart25 I get where you're coming from. Perhaps she'll be referenced to an extent, but I wouldn't get my hopes up about it. Many argue on here that she died in S2 despite the Mike/Ralph Eargate thing. I personally wouldn't mind seeing her or having her referenced as long as it makes sense. This should've been resolved in S2 shortly after Clementine came across the half-dead scavenger with Nick & Pete. We all know this is something that has been glossed over, but who knows? The time we'll all spend across their upcoming 4 episodes will certainly tell, whether or not if there's any room for Christa in Clem's final tale.

  • Yeah, it is a bit of a shame that her patience and charity goes un-cited.
Like, we get it--Dad's are [supposedly] deep and complex individuals.

It'd be kinda cool, if really confusing.

    ...Yeah, kinda.
There just isn't any real need for him to come back and/or be a major thing compared to her.

I don't really care whether she comes back or not - I mostly just want Clem/the game to at least acknowledge her. Maybe mention something that happened during that time off-screen with her. Nearly two years of off-screen time spent with Christa, and Clem has nothing to say about her, ever?!

She's always reminiscing about Lee, Kenny, Jane, hell, even Javier might get a mention in this season, but it's like Christa doesn't even exist and she's one of the people who did the most for Clem!

  • Christa was mediocre, mad respect when she shot that girl at the start of season 2 though.
