Violet is going to be killed and Marlon is the traitor(Theory about the Smoker, Tenn, Aj and Violet.
Okay, I don't know if this is already pointed out but. Behind the man, you can see a schedule board. Which means he is in the train station from the demo. In the other image, we can see a floor door with Aj holding a gun. Which means Aj and the adult are probably in the same room and Aj is pointing a gun at him. Now the question is, why is that man even at that building to begin with? Maybe its where he lives? Maybe its where he tortures children? My guess is that somebody from the boarding school is going to be killed or tortured and they think the (maybe) killer is that man. And I think it has something to do with Tenn. Okay, so we all know that Tenn is gonna be like a friend to Aj and there will be a lot of focus on him in episode 2 and 3. But we also know that he is not gonna die in episode 1. In the trailer, we can see that Violet seems very close to Tenn. I think that Violet dies or is going to be tortured, and Aj is gonna be angry, cause he compares Violet with Clementine, (Cause Clementine and Violet both take care of a young boy, so he sees himself and Clementine in Tenn and Violet). So he wants to confront the killer with a gun. And, Tenn is gonna be the focus later this season. My guess is Tenn has some connection to the mysterious man, so that is why Violet is going to be killed or something bad is going to happen to here in the first episode, cause she is important to Tenn.
So Violet is going to be killed or tortured by that man. Aj sees Clementine in Violet so that's why he seems so upset and why he is pointing a gun at the adult.
EDIT: And to support the theory that something is going to happen to Violet. Tenn is holding a knife in one of the scenes of the trailer and Violet was very close to him. So Tenn wants to take out the man who killed or kidnapped his mother figure. I think she is going to be killed, cause Marlon said: I can't let another kid die. It all makes sense.
Oh and I also think that Marlon is going to be the ''traitor that made a deal with the Smoker. Because of two reasons. His breakdown and obsession with protection and cause he is the leader of the boarding school. So he has some power.
Okay so somebody pointed out Violet is alive in episode 2. So I think she gets kidnapped by the smoker.

Is that what's happenin?
Holy shit, that could actually be a pretty striking scene. And/or a [hopefully better] retread of Clementine and Carver.

I shall believe this theory until proven otherwise. Seems solid to me.
Remember that part in the trailer near the gravesite? Violet was there but not Marlon.
Are you saying that Marlon is the one that is going to die? Violet was there cause she is close to Tenn. We already know the names that were on those gravestones. So its not going to be Marlon.
Dat Title Change, tho.
Okay, now that you've forced me to go back and actually read the whole thing, I'd say that'd make sense and could be interesting, but unfortunately, I kinda get the sense that things would go down slightly different.
Trite character and design or not, Violet is the only named main girl beside Ms. Mascot and uses a technically different color scheme. Tenn, on the other hand, is another little black boy who wears primarily dark colors, despite his backstory beckoning scar and arguable larger potential.
So from a center perspective, I guess you could say it could either way, but it's not looking too good for the Gash-headed Woobie.
Well, I don't think she is the only main girl character in the whole game. There could be some more characters we haven't yet heard of. Maybe those are going to appear in future episodes.
Now the only thing that is not very clear, is why is the (Killer) man at the train station, to begin with. Why that particular building?
I've sure been hoping so.
Maybe the one that looks like Smoky can get some limelight.
Hm...I wonder if he's expecting a shipment or something?
Yeah, now we have Ms. Horizon Zero Dawn Bonnie Mach II. Those eyes.
Could be. Some people on the internet had the theory that Marlon made a deal with the adults cause he is so obsessed with protecting the kids. He is probably going to do weird things because of that. Maybe the man is there cause he and Marlon had a deal to make.
Yeah, that's the vibe I've been getting and a theory I've had since the teaser that introduced 'Smoker.'
Though it being Marlon rather than another kid we haven't been shown yet is a bit unorthodox.
Maybe those locations on the schedule(Prescott, Wellington, Richmond, etc)aren’t from before the apocalypse...maybe it’s reffering to shipments.
Could it be that he had connections to Joan and the respective bosses of Edith and Tripp?
Could be. But I don't know if it's a good idea to bring them up in the story. But then again, that way, it doesn't make Anf completely worthless
I'm pretty sure those locations are just as a easter egg
Here we see the room under the floor door. Now its obvious that Clementine is the one who is trying to open the floor door. But I don't see AJ anywhere. Maybe Aj took off and Clementine wants to find him? So she follows him and then ends up there.
Maybe. I remember TT saying that the Joan/Clint decision would have long lasting consequence. However, they also said the Garcia’s were coming back so I’m not sure how much of their original plan is still intact. Maybe Joan/Clint can show up as one of the leaders of the rival group.
Maybe the deal has something to do with the bags they are carrying in one of the shots?
Yeah, most likely so.
Yeah, but that was then, fresh off the heels of the installment with the premise for "Clementine's story" being talked over and built upon.
Admittedly, I was just WMG, as Joan likely wouldn't have been shipping him anything.
I suppose it's possible that one of them is currently collaborating with him for the time being.
Oh, is that who that is? I thought it might be the saboteur/templar.
Bags?
Heres is another shot that makes it a bit more clear that it is Clem
And I am talking about these bags:
Clem be lookin like David in the second one.
Oh, okay.
Waitaminute
Maybe the guy had a connection with Wellington?
Perhaps...and/or he needed food for his family that they couldn't give....
I still don't understand where the bags are coming from. Maybe Marlon made a deal with the mysterious guy as already said. In return, he gets food and other supplies from him that are in the bags.
I believe someone mentioned that those bags are probably from the same shack Clementien and AJ were in earlier.
shack?
The place with the couple who seemingly committed suicide.
Oh, yea alright. That's also the place where the Smoker is in the trailer so the bags has probably something to do with him.
...That was a train station?
Yup. It's the same train station that was shown in the concept art. And if you play/watch the demo you can see rails. And that is the building where that schedule board is. So the man is there. And if the bags are indeed coming from that building, then that man might have something to do with the bags. Maybe a deal with the kids.
Not to dump water on your theory but everything in the trailer was from ep 1...we know Violet is alive in well in ep 2
Are you 100% sure about that? Did it say Episode 1 trailer? Nah you're probably right actually.
What, did you get called in to sub today?
explain your words there...
Where the heck were you?
