Violet complaining the school is "Bro town", but what about Ruby??

edited August 2018 in The Walking Dead

If she never liked Brody after Sophie and Minerva were gone she could have gone with Ruby no?

  • she is too thicc

  • That was Telltale telling us players "Hey, this one's the gay one".

  • I know, and that's why I said that Violet could have been shipped with Ruby

    Or perhaps, we're too good at it. I mean, if we made it this far, it means two main things: we like narrative driven games, and we like zombie games. We're all very educated in the standard cliches seen in zombie flicks, as well as general character archetypes and cliches and the like. We've memorized the playbooks, we've learned all the tricks. We can probably sniff out just about anything they throw at us these days.

    As for a legit answer, I'm pretty sure the line was meant to imply that, on top of the disproportionate amount of guys in comparison to girls, she didn't have anyone she related to/connected to on the same level as Minerva. The little we've seen of Ruby, she doesn't seem fully compatible with Violet, even as friends. I mean, they probably get along, but I don't see those two having some super serious, deep conversation with each other. Clementine, on the other hand, is probably someone she either sees a lot of herself in, or a lot of Minerva in. The first person in a good year that is on the same wavelength as her, so to speak.

  • That whole conversation was one of the bits of dodgy writing

    "Im not really like a people person"

    It wasnt terrible and I get they have to develop one of the main characters but it was kinda offputting

    It just means there is more boys than girls, it's 3 girls and 7 boys, also with Ruby it's probably because she get's angered easily

  • I mean, not like many of them are, but Ruby doesn't seem to be the biggest ray of sunshine there is.

  • And she discovered all that in the short amount of time they were together? I mean, depending on Clementines reactions, there's literally no reason Violet should feel like her and Clem connect.

  • I like her. She's very cool if you have AJ be honest when he apologizes and if you scold him for his rudeness at the din din table. I seriously don't know why Violet couldn't hang with her.

  • True, she seems okay to me tbf. I thought it was a bit harsh of Violet to say that when there's clearly another girl to talk to there ;-;
    Also what do you mean about scolding AJ at the dinner table?Because when I did she stormed off annoyed.

  • You have the options of 'slow down,' 'burp,' 'manners AJ,' or '...'. I picked slow down and she left with a smile.

  • I think you are forgetting being able to fall for someone at first sight...the way she looked at Clem from her spot on the wall...her eyes got big and her face lit up. So I think that had something to do with her being able to warm up and have a conversation with Clem.

  • Oh, I put 'manners Aj' because I thought she would be happiest if I said that. Apparently not ;-;

    I'm not forgetting. But I agree, Violet's had eye's on Clem. That's kinda the point I was making. She wants to be with Clem, not as a friend, but romantically. Everyone is always saying 'she wants a deeper connection' but for me it just seems as bad as they say Luis is.
    What's annoying is how she seems to get annoyed with Clem if she doesn't 'reject' Luis' flirting. Its weirdly possessive for someone who you just met. And I say possessive because how Clem reacts to others isn't any of her concern so why it'd bother her is ridiculous. She also gives Clem an irritated look if she hints that she's into boys. (Talking about when Luis asks about a boyfriend, you can respond in certain ways resulting in Violet appearing irritated.) Why is that something she should be bothered about? They just met, even if its love at first sight for her she's gotta be prepared that it might not be reciprocated.
    Also I get the feeling Clem reminds her of Minnie or something, like she looks similar to Minnie and that's also why she's so interested in Clem. That's also why I don't know that I buy 'deeper connection' cause I'm wondering if its more like 'Minnie replacement.' lol.
    Edit: I haven't seen how Minnie looks but I'm starting to think she might look similar to Clem.

  • How did that result in grumpy Ruby? Was Clem to slack or something? Or just joking about manners? Or how did you have AJ apologize to her? Cause I told him to be honest.

  • Pretty sure the pictures in the scrapbook are pictures of a young Violet, Minerva, Sophie and Tenn. Not up to date, but you might be able to get a clue of what Minerva looks like from those.

  • Idk I really didn't see that one backfiring. I had AJ apologise by telling the truth. And no Clem said it quite sternly to him.

  • I had Clem say manners the first time too. AJ just continues eating without the spoon and Ruby walks away in disgust. Clem was serious when she said manners too.

  • When Clementine first wakes up in the room after the accident. The dresser with the med kit on it has a scrapbook in the draw.

  • That's just odd... If you tell him to slow it down he grabs a spoon and starts eating politely.

  • There are about 6 boys and 3 girls. It's not that hard to figure out why she points out it's Bro town.

    God bless everyone.

  • Probably because AJ doesn't know the word "manners".. Yet.

    Why would he continue eating like that and not listen to Clem like he always does if he knew that?
    It just doesn't make any sense to me at all.

  • I agree. I may be contradicting myself here, but like you said he probably didn't know what Clem was referring to at the time. But he knew the meaning.

  • She's nice and cares about manners.

    Two things Violet isn't good at. My theory Violet and Ruby might have been friends but Violet's depression eventually became too much and Ruby was like "Suck it up buttercup it's been six months"
