Did Tennessee run into Negan? WTF happened to his face? Since we have the photo album of lil Tenn we can see that he got that giant scar after the apocalypse? So whats the deal? Attempted suicide? Or ironed by something.

Might have been a fire at the school, there is a blocked off section we haven't seen yet after all. He doesn't have the scar on the photos, so it happened after the apocalypse.
He was originally training to be the cook, until the unfortunate mishap.

I assumed it was some huge gash at first, but honestly, it looks like it's either infected or awkwardly healing.
So probably a burn or some weird growth after a head injury.

When he was first revealed I thought he was going to tie into The Saviors somehow. I thought he might have been from The Sanctuary. However, Violet has known Minnie since before the apocalypse. So I think that rules out his face being ironed by Negan. Besides, Negan wouldn’t do that to a kid.
Can't be a sucide attempt, kid is super optimistic and belives that good things still happen, unless this very accident changed his perspective overnight. It looks like a typical Sandor Clegane burn. And I would imagine burns aren't that uncommon in post-apocaliptic world with cars crashing in episode 1.

I actually imagine more burn victims in the post-apocalypse.
Or at least more badly treated scars like Clem's dog bite.
Well TT said tennis will have a big focus on the story in episodes 2 and 3 so we might know how he got those badass scars.
