What was the advice you gave to Alvin Junior during your first playthrough?

Was wondering, what was your choice when you played the episode 1 for the first time?
Save the last bullet for yourself, never hesitate, or always aim for the head?
For me is without a doubt "Never Hesitate".
I followed the advice of the good ol' Marwin Branagh from Resident Evil 2 Remake (a game I'm gonna play FOR SURE).

(1:03 onwards)

One moment of hesitation can be lethal, so shoot/kill on sight or run away. I couldn't even remotely think I'm going to need to save a bullet for myself because I would refuse to die in any case. Always think positive, death is not contemplated.

  • I totally agree with you, I think that "never hesitate" is the best option of the three.

  • I was silent, so he chose aim for the head

  • “What? I aimed for the head.”

  • Aim for the head.

  • Hm, interesting. When I was silent, he chose "save the last bullet for myself". So either it's random or somehow based on our past choices.

  • Oh, it might've been that. They're too similar. (can't remember what the third option is tho)

Never hesitate didn't seem like a good idea because it could make AJ too reckless and trigger happy.

Save the last bullet for yourself was way too morbid for a 6 year old to hear and I don't want AJ giving up and ending it all if he finds himself in a situation that he could actually escape from.

So that left aim for the head. Tbh I wish there had been more options here but whatever

  • I took too long to decide, so by the time I finally settled on “aim for the head”, AJ went with “save the last bullet for yourself”. Meh, suppose he isn’t COMPLETELY wrong.

@VengefulKenny I see where you’re coming from with “save the last bullet”, but doesn’t a post-apocalyptic world like this favour the mature? Besides, I think AJ would know by now what situations he can escape from. And even if he didn’t, he won’t stop to count the bullets to decide whether or not it’s worth fighting back, will he? The way I see it, living is pointless if you aren’t living. Why die in pain when you can leave in peace?

(That was me trying to justify my error  )
