2019: The Year of Long Waits Ending.

edited August 2018 in General Chat

2019 looks like it will be another kick ass year for gaming, however many releases (provided none are delayed) are anticipated titles gamers have be waiting a long time for:

Kingdom hearts 3: 14 year wait

Shenmue 3: 18 years

Psychonauts 2: 14 years

Devil may cry 5: 11 years

Ace Combat 7: 12 years

Borderlands 3: 7 years ( main entry)

Battletoads: 25 years?

But now the question is will the wait be worth it? What are the games your most excited for?

Comments

  • Kingdom Hearts 3: I hope it's worth the wait. The gameplay itself is looking pretty fantastic. Only criticism I can give so far is that the english voice acting seems kinda weak.

Shenmue 3: Dear god I hope it's good and that it sells well enough so that we don't have to wait another 20 years to get Shenmue 4.

Psychonauts 2: Haven't kept up with it in a long while.

Devil May Cry 5: I personally think it's looking pretty great so far.

Ace Combat 7: Don't really keep up with the Ace Combat series.

Battletoads: Need to see footage of it.

Borderlands 3: Is it really going to be released next year? I expected it to be shown at E3 but all they showed was that multiplayer 1v1 game behind closed doors. At this point I'm starting to fear it's in development hell tbh.

  • I would throw movies into that trend too. We got some long waited movies, such as Incredibles 2 and Avengers Infinity War.

  • The Wolf Among Us S2 (a billion year wait)

Resident Evil 2 Remake. They never planned it any sooner after releasing the Gamecube remake of the original game in 2002. After the success of the remaster version of REmake in 2015, they finally announced the remake of RE2 being in works and will release it in 2019. If the game succeeds, we might also get the remake of Resident Evil 3 in the next generation.

  • Mount & Blade: Bannerlord

Haha, jk. It's probably never going to get released.

  • But the OP was taking about 2019, not 2018. Blind indeed.

But yeah 2018 had some good ones.

  • Ah, it's more of a meme. They just kinda keep delaying it. I think originally it was supposed to release in 2016. Then the developers said in one of the earlier interviews that it should be done by the end of 2017 and here we are, still not released.

At least they showed some footage at Gamescom this year, so the release date might be close. Still not confident it will come out in 2019 though.
