Why TT want to end Clem's story?
What's your opinion?
1) They want to move to another character
2) They want to "leave on time"? (but its a bit illogically imo)
3) They want to focus on other projects (but they just could freeze WD for some time)

4) They want to end the series on a high note instead of milking it over and over as they watch it lose quality in every installment.
I don't get it why they wanna end the story. There would be some much more to tell, seeing how Clem and AJ grow up and live their life. For me, TWD is one of the best games I've ever played. Technically it's poor but the story is good and the atmosphere is awesome.
Well I'm sure that a new story will not success like clementine's story
They don't want it to be another milked franchise like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and FIFA.
Because quality (or what is left of it) >quantity
I respect that they don't just want make money but love what they do and care about it,but I don't get it how they lost quality. Anf was less successful but still all seasons are good for me
Look at how people reviewed ANF. They made Clementine supporting character and people hated the shit out of it. They cant make a Walking Dead game not involving Clementine without you (fanbase) losing your shit. So now, in order to be able to make new games in this popular franchise without her they have to make this season final. After that they are free to make more Walking Dead games without people expecting Clementine to be in them.
You have every right to enjoy ANF but there is no doubt the quality went downhill. Shorter rushed and often rewritten episodes, poor story in general, dull character, less gameplay,... the list goes on...
I love this story as well and this is exactly why I'd rather see it end on a high note than see it become something boring with no quality in the end. Look at what happened with the TV series.
Well, it's been 5-6 years since it began. And the thing is, if they keep it up, they're going to milk the story to the point where no one is going to enjoy it anymore. I mean look at The Walking Dead show, it's gone to the dogs, it's so bad now, they should've ended it forever ago.
To keep the game in a loving note in peoples hearts, they have to end it or eventually, it'll be ruined because you can only keep something going on for so long till you've dried it up.
Never seen it. Yeah, I understand them now, just hope that high note ending won't make me depressed lol
Yes, I agree. Assassin's Creed is good example for me how it's important to stop on time
The TV show went from amazing to utter dogshit; Telltale just doesn't want that to happen to Clem's story. It's simple -- they want to end it on a high note instead of milking it until it's utter shit (like the TV show). All good things come to an end and as much as I don't want her story to end, I understand why it's ending.
They have already spoken in interviews that do not want to prolong their story if it does not get too long.
People are really fast to come to this "milking it" conclusion, I don't see where this is coming from given that Celemtine's story hasn't had anything to milk since the first season.
I think it comes down to a lack of talent and ambition. Telltale doesn't know where to take the walking dead story with Clementine as the protagonist anymore, so they just want a hard end to her tale and rework the whole thing from a new perspective.
Actually, I've been pulling the strings down at Telltale this whole time. I'm ending it because I think it's time we moved on from her.
yea lets move on so people could hate the new ones cause theres no chloe on it( for example)
clem has just 1 season as main character and in her second one they will finish her story? pss ok
Because everything's come full circle. She's a mentor figure/role model to AJ the same way Lee was to her. I think this is the story they wanted to tell since the beginning and anything after that would feel unnecessary.
Not gonna lie, it's hard not wanting more, especially if they do this well, but on the other hand I won't have to worry about episodic releases anymore after December. I'm torn lol
Everything has to end. It's better to end something while it's still good.
Soooo what will be my reason to live then?
I’m not sure if they are ending their TWD series or just Clem’s part in it. If it is the second, I would guess that they noticed that some people are way too attached to her character, to the point that it is detrimental to the series.
Even if they were just trying to move to other possible stories, timelines or locations, there would be that very vocal group of people complaining about any new game, and attracting a lot of negative for it, just because they don’t have Clem in it or because she is not the focus. By finishing her story they can be trying to close the door on this kind of complaints.
Yeah it is, isn't it? Assuming this season will continue with the quality set by Done Running, I'm happy they end on a high note but then again its sad they end it when it gets really good. Just makes you wish they had put this kind of love in making ANF/3rd installment.
Distant memory lol. It does feel like night and day comparing even the lead up to these two though. The first episode being so good aside, the store listing for ANF was where we found out that Clem was going to be a minor/supporting character only playable in flashbacks, a week or two before the game came out despite being led to believe otherwise. We got an E3 trailer and November release date, found out it wasn't coming in November, in November, and the "big" VGA reveal.
Comparatively they were really open about TFS, more interactive with the fans here and in general, detailing their thought process on the story, introducing the new characters and concept arts, gameplay overhauls made and previewed to us ahead of release. It feels like there's more focus, like whatever issues were occurring during ANF are gone. Honestly, this feels like the series I used to hope I'd hear news about in between episodes again. I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts, and then I'll probably cancel Christmas.
So they won't milk the Franchise. This honestly the reason why I think they would kill her. So they can give closure to the series. Honestly if they kept her alive, then more and more people would not stop demanding for more. Be honest with yourselves. Do you really think AJ and Clem will find a permanent home? Its the Walking Dead, walkers are going to come and drive them out.
Would you sit down and play like 5 more Seasons as Clem? I know I wouldn't. I'll get pretty bored.
Its best to end the series on a high note than continue making more.
Pretty bored ? I’d never get bored of Clem
Fifa, and arguably call of duty, aren’t only just milked. They’re cloned
I'd say Fifa is the most cloned franchise because every game is basically the same thing, the only thing that changes is the customization.
To be fair FIFA is based on a sport which means you can't really make the games significantly different. I agree that they shouldn't release a game every year, a new game/world cup would be fine but making a game every year obviously makes them way more money.
But it WORKS. Look at how much money they've made off of those duplicates
Because casual players only care for repetitive gameplay and multiplayer.
That’s why they should only make one new game for each generation of console and at least change the game mechanics instead of having the same old birds eye view and modes. Like throw in a free mode or something to freshen it up
My thoughts exactly. As much as I love Clem, there's nothing else to tell from her. That's why I think Telltale will kill her off and the i wouldn't mind.
Its time for Telltale to get away from Clem's story and focus on new stories. New Projects. It will help move their company forward and to do that you have to get rid of the thing that brings it down. Fans keep on demanding more and more from her and its honestly making the stories less creative. Want to watch another wash and repeat of Being Alone, Find a Group, Make Bonds, Walkers attacking you, the Living being more dangerous than the dead, everyone dying, and then end up at square 1 again (basically being alone again like she was at the beginning)?
Literally there's nothing else for her story. Keep her alive and then fans would want to demand more until another Season comes out.
And seriously, I highly doubt that Telltale would do a multiple ending scenario since in the end everyone has the SAME EXACT ENDING. Clem is still by herself at the end no matter what you do. Literally this is the END OF CLEM'S STORY. She's obviously going to die. There's multiple times where her death is foreshadowed.
I'll say it again, its time that everyone moves on from Clem.
I love Clem...I want her to live...that being said...there is such a thing as going to the well too many times...So far this season...all 1 ep we have seen is pretty damn good. Let them end Clem's story on a high note. Right now...zombies are played out...and really what else can you do with the story? let it rest...then maybe they can pick up TWD again later when they have recharged their batteries from a story telling perspective.
I would love to see Telltale do something else in the horror genre.
6 years is a long time for a single story to still not be finished. It'd be horrible to see Clem's story extended so far that it'd make up a fraction of your current lifespan or something.
This is a good thing.
