AJ Is not clementine
seen sooooo many people complaining about the kid, the issue is that some of you guys are comparing him to clem in every aspect and situation. the key element is Aj is one of the first, born and raised in the outbreak, so that means he is DIFFERENT to normal people...sorry about the rant its like people here don‘t understand kids

I don't said it's bad that he protect Clem so much.
your guardian/maternal figure can get killed at any time, i would be overprotective too
he’ll be a dead boi when I next see him. Hehehe ?
He's a little shit, and he's getting an ass woopin come episode 2.
I hope I don't treat him the "look at the flowers" treatment soon....if you know what I mean
Of course. He is so used to surviving and facing all the dangers of the world ever since he was born, so unlike Clem he seems to lack empathy and compassion towards anyone besides Clem (it's not like he needs those traits to survive with her anyway).
I'm just worried about the boy that's all. Hope we can teach him things like morals, empathy, etc. in the next episodes and all his "mistakes" doesn't mean that TT is building him to up become an irremediable sociopath .
Flowers are shown quite a bit in the first episode and title sequence, so maybe they will connote death?
Where are people comparing AJ to Clementine at? I've heard this before but have yet to see it.
Obviously the two are absolutely different in nearly all aspects.
OP is a known flamer...report him
I’m getting vibes that you’re the kinda guy who hides in the bushes in a park studying child behaviour. “It’s like people here don’t understand kids” lol really? Are children not supposed to learn from their maternal figures anyway? Even after telltale told us that his actions would be based on our teachings?
Except he learns. The whole problem of the situation is that he took Clem's advice way too literally. He aimed for the head. Besides there's lot of moments in the episode where he acts based off of how Clementine acted. So far Telltale has held their word so I don't know what your problem with him is.
fyi i studied health and social care with units in childcare, yes based on teachings but look at the nature aj is in, nurture doesnt shape him fully
funny how its the violetine shipper thats gone off the rails
That conversation was about what he should do if he was in danger, Marlon dropped the gun and surrendered, therefore there was no danger, he murdered him once he had calmed down instead of when he was ranting across the school, just before Marlon took his gun, and that is just unforgivable. There’s nothing normal about a 5-6 year old boy staring out of a window near you, while holding a knife while you sleep, despite the entire area and the perimeter for that matter being completely secure.
One of Kenny’s last wishes, for me at least, was for AJ to live a normal life and to make some friends, so I tried to fulfill Kenny’s wishes, only for AJ to completely disregard the fact that I want him to be nice to the students, who SAVED HIS LIFE AND CLEMENTINE’s. You don’t shoot people who save you.
Also, how are you gonna explain the fact that he wouldn’t return Tenn’s toy? A toy.... did Clementine say “HeY, aJ, HoW aBoUT yOU sTeAl ToyS fRom OtHeR KiDs?” No, AJ is a major dick head, a toy isn’t going to help with survival, it was a major dick move and was needless, there’s no way to defend that.
facepalmHE TOOK A TOY LYNCH THE LIL SHIT. 1. aj sociopathic behavior, lack of empathy is down to the constant danger and horrors they have seen, and its become normal for aj 2. marlon was a pitiable soul and he threatened Aj‘s only maternal guardian thus made marlon a monster in the kids eyes. 3 ever raised a kid?they go through milestones like learning to SHARE?and because this is probs the first time they ran into any kids, aj had to go through that milestone hence the choice you was given.
I don’t see clementine, Louis, Violet, Brody or any of the others (perhaps excluding Marlon) acting like sociopaths, and they have been living in the apocalypse for most of their lives, should it not be normal for the, too? Or is AJ an exception just because he’s a kid? No matter what excuse you have, there IS no justifying certain mental health issues, and AJ clearly has some.
It’s almost like justifying someone for carrying out a massacre only because they grew up in a certain environment where stuff like that became the norm, you can’t justify AJ murdering Marlon, you can’t justify him trying to steal from Tenn and you can’t justify him biting and attacking people despite knowing for a fact that he is in a safe and secure place. Like how is a walker actually going to get inside of the school? If he’s lived in the apocalypse for all of his life then surely he wouldn’t be stupid enough to know the place was secure.
He has mental issues and doesn’t even deserve to be defended to the extent that he currently is tbf.
Right, you're comparing the minds of young adults with the mind of a six year old. Is it that hard to grasp that he's not at all fully developed? He literally cannot act like anything else but a six year old kid. He cannot think like you think, or like Clem thinks or how an adult thinks. He doesn't understand what's wrong with shooting Marlon because in his mind, Marlon was a threat to Clem and himself and that was good enough reason for AJ to justify killing him. He was just another monster, just another danger. He grew up in a world where your best chance to survive is to smash the brains of every corpse you meet, don't you think that might be the reason why he's so cold blooded? Instead of these so called "mental issues".
He's a kid. Kids fight over toys. That's normal behavior. He's attacking and biting people, because it's an instinct he developed living in a world where loosing your guard for a second can be fatal. It's completely normal behavior under the circumstances. You need to stop treating him like an adult, he's not. He's still a kid and he acts like one.
AJ is a little shit. Back when I was in my mid-teens, picking fights with almost everyone on here (believe it or not I’ve actually stopped now... and this isn’t a fight, this is me justifying my opinion) nobody said “oh, he’s a teenager, teenagers often argue” no, none of that, what I got was a swift ban instead of understanding, yet when a fictional child murders people and steals from them without feeling remorse, people instantly say “he’s a child, children do stuff like that”... really?
Really haven't seen anyone compare S4 Aj to Clem.
Were Clementine and the other kids born in the apocalypse? No. Was AJ born in the apocalypse. Yes. Suprise, being born in a apocalypse fucks up your personality and behaviour
Yeah, Judith from the show looks like a total serial killer, I agree. Just look at this: the charge of a savage. Rick is in for some trouble.
Really? Are you using the show as an argument. If you're born in a fucked up evironment, then you will be fucked up yourself. How are you not seeing this?
Woah, lol, hold on smarty pants, why can’t I use the show as an argument? Is it not based off of Robert Kirkman’s comic universe? Is it NOT Robert Kirkman’s universe? What makes it so different from the comics then? For all we know Tenn could have been born in the apocalypse, even if he was born before hand he’d be too young to even remember a single thing, and look how he turned out. Actually helping strangers by patching them up and imagining a better place after people die. Even EVIL PEOPLE.
Like to explain that? His only family are gone, and he’s dealing with that way better than any of us could possibly deal with it, I don’t see him shooting unarmed people in the backs of their head.
Any more smart remarks, mr-smartypants, or is it case closed?
Also don’t even think about bringing the police officer argument up because every toddler ever knows what a cop is
who cares why AJ is a piece of shit? hes still a piece of shit!
ep2 needs a "kick aj's ass" option
and an "adopt Abel instead,he seems better than AJ" option
The game is not the show/comics. Telltale has different writers. And we don't even know if Tenn was born in the apocalypse. Probably not, cause it seems like Tenn wil tell Aj more about the world before like he did in the first episode.
So then why are you comparing AJ to a real life child then? I don’t see telltale writing their existences. Also, fun fact, Robert Kirkman oversees the games to make sure that things make sense, so the comics and the games are technically one.
Who in the actual fuck explained humans to you? He or she should be tarred and feathered and set on fire.
Hehehe looks like someeooone can’t find a good explanaaatioooooon. Give up, bro, if your only excuse is (all humans should act the same if they all grew up in a certain environment) then I might as well slowly wither away and die inside for humanity is completely fucked.
...
Because he is a child? He is fictional but still a child. I was only saying that AJ's actions are understandable. They're wrong but understandable. He was born in the apocalypse. A place with only monsters and death. That is obviously not good for him and its gonna influence how he is growing up. He was literally born in hell. That is going to fuck him up. And we don't know how much influence Robert has on this season.
I'd provide an explanation for you if I wasn't convinced you'd completely generalize it and cherry pick certain words to make me sound like a fool. Also I can't think of a way to respond to something so stupid as saying "internet trolling" = "life threatening and stressful situation in the actual apocalpyse". You're comparing something so extremely different it's ridiculous.
Welcome to my existence in the telltale forums: saying something that I think is clever only to have it completely shut down by someone while I still try to make it seem like I am right only to realise I am wrong much later on. You’ll see my way one day.
Okay? Soooo.... are you going to say why I'm wrong or...
I did. And that’s the last you’ll hear from me
So you explain to me how you would look if someone threatened your mother or sister? Would you stand still? Tell me a child who grew up and had to start killing at the age of 5 would you be normal?
You can not compare Clem, Louis or Violet with AJ mano they were not born and grew up in the apocalypse they saw a world before that, the brat only knows Blood and Death you can not blame him for killing a person if the only thing he knows how to survive and kill monsters
