Should Clementine get her brutal cathartic moment?

  • Eli was an accidental she didn't think through. She should have threatened him with a shot gun for better results. Pretty much everything else she did was less brutal and more desperate/manipulative. " Lie for me javi, let's go in the morning, stay and help me fight, etc" she even points out in the end of the e of them needs to go down and cover themselves in Walker guts. " You've done a lot of crazy stuff for me Javi" and he goes again. That scene alone would be enough for me to not call out Javier Clem shippers because even when she points out how devoted he's been he smiles And volunteers again.

Well Clementine had her moments aswell, not exactly the same you mentioned but she displayed some brutal manners (some of them are determina

  • That sounds oddly fucked up, when you put it like that

Stealing Disco Broccoli and a cooking magazine is about as hardcore as it can get

  • The story can go either way or have both theories you know?

So your not onboard with the Clementine got assaulted at the ranch theory?

  • Can't think of anything more hardcore than this...you won

  • You’re forgetting Mike, Bonnie, and Arvo. Most specifically Arvo.

I think part of that is the fact that she never really had a dedicated arc villain or archenemy meant specifically for her, nevermind one horrible enough to actually warrant a straightforward physical confrontation anywhere on that level.

Thanks for pointing that out to me, hmm.

    Am I?
Cause like I said, she never really had a dedicated antagonist to even challenge herself.

Sure, Arvo sticks out for being the only antagonistic character that could return, but that would require the story to actually work him in in an organic and believable way, nevermind in a role that would build to such a confrontation.

And considering the villains for This Final Season seem just to be inbred hick raiders against a Boarding School of teenagers around and under the same age as Clementeen, a properly matured russian dude who used to be somewhat handicapped ain't got much room to fit in properly.

  • I’m not talking about a “dedicated archenemy” as you put it, at least in talking about “someone brutal enough to warrant a physical altercation anywhere on that level.”

Yes, I know you specifically meant an archenemy with that statement, but I took the liberty and used it to generally talk about all characters, past and present.

Also, I’d accept the unlikelyhood of Arvo being in a group of hick raiders if it means I can bash his brains in.

  • Well soon as someone attacks AJ, I would think there'd be a worse side of her not even seen in the New Frontier Clem.

  • I read that wrongly. :#

If anyone try anything on AJ, then Clem would surely get to do nasty stuff

  • I dunno, Clementine doesn't really strike me as that type of character.

  • About Disco Broccoli.. why no one gives a shit about him? I was happy to see AJ wearing a disco broccoli shirt in the e2 short clip and he totally needs to be more recognized lol to be honest id like to know how did she get the toy and from where.. did she kill someone for it? (S2 reference :p)

  • Who wouldn’t kill someone for such prized collectibles? And the shirt too idk where that even came from but this season is definitely promoting a veggie tales reboot

  • This is the reason why I wanted S3 to be a story where Clem meets essentially her equal but with a different upbringing. They initially get along but their vastly different backgrounds and foundations clash as issues like scavengers, starvation, weather, and walker herds arise. As the tension increases, their past wounds begin to show as they begin to act out of hurt and pain rather than survival and wisdom. They reach their breaking point which leads to a big fight that turns physical. Clem will get the upper hand and become relentless. The Lee and Kenny-vs-Jane endings determine how sever the beating gets. Before she unleashes a potentially lethal blow, she realizes who she has become and sees that she is no better than anyone else in the world. The plot resolving things happen. I can't remember the whole idea I had. I can up with it back during the post-S2 down time.

But as one has mentioned on her before, Clem is more manipulative and influential. In a world full of brute force type of people, I kind of like the fact that Clem has a unique "bad" way of handling things. When Clem is on a more moral bad side of her character, she tends to have a knack to talk people into what she wants or have situations move in her favor along with her ability to physically sneak in and around places. So while a brutal cathartic moment would be cool, it would be somewhat out of her character. I think the Clementine equivalent to brutal cathartic would be for her to manipulate someone and talk them into being her puppet and/or into a dark emotional place.
